CopperCairn is a whisky experiences and consultancy company based in Scotland. We provide whisky tastings, tours and master classes with the aim of helping you discover your own connection to this amazing elixir. Mitch founded CopperCairn from his desire to combine two of his favorite passions; whisky and adventure! With 15 years’ experience within the Scotch whisky industry, he has worked for some of the largest brands in the world, including the likes of Johnnie Walker and Glenfiddich. These roles have taken him around the world educating and entertaining thousands of people. He has hosted training sessions, judged on international tasting panels and written articles on whisky. He is also a Keeper of the Quaich, an honor bestowed on a select number of people for their contribution to the whisky industry. Mitch is an experienced paddleboarder, winning a competition or two, and has paddled the length of Scotland from Fort Augustus to Inverness along the Caledonian Canal and Loch Ness. A keen snowboarder, he has hosted whisky tastings in some of the most renowned ski resorts in the world.

An authentic, personable and beautifully curated whisky experience. Mitch was the perfect host. Not only is he a wealth of knowledge about whisky, but the history of the region. A brutal storyteller and passionate about sharing his extensive life experience in the world of whisky. Cannot thank him enough. It was a perfect day
Fraser was knowledgeable, welcoming, and enthusiastic about all things whisky! He ensured that our guests from Canada and Australia were engaged and catered for brilliantly. We will be using Fraser and Coppercairn again for future events.
How can you get a sixth star on here?
My trip to Speyside was my 60th celebration with 3 mates.
Golf in the morning, then the afternoon with Mitch in the Copper Cairn minibus. So easy and comfortable.
What Mitch doesn't know about whisky, the dram itself, and the people in the industry is not worth knowing, that's for sure.
We got to places we would never have got to - Glenfiddich. Up to places we wouldn't have been able to get to - Argos tour.
We will defo be using Mitch and his services, and Mitch, we have talked Greenie into a kayak trip next time - lol!
Book him, if you don't you will miss so much of Speyside and the wonderful whisky.

We spent a fabulous couple of days with MItch touring Speyside. We tried some great drams, visited some spectacular places that we'd never have found on our own, toured some brilliant distilleries and above all had some good laughs!

I attended a whisky tasting in April 2022 hosted by Mitch, in Aberdour. I was blown away by his knowledge of whisky, distilleries and its history. Not only does Mitch have encyclopedic knowledge of malt whisky, he is happy to share it and field questions on all things whisky related. I later attended a second private whisky tasting at home, a private event with friends. My 5 guests enjoyed the event immensely, and Mitch surpassed the high expectations I'd set. This event involved different whiskies from the first tasting.
I cannot recommend Mitch and Copper Cairn highly enough.

What a treat! Mitch took us around the Speyside area and gave our group an entirely new experience. We had been to the region before and felt we had a good handle on what to expect; we could not have been more wrong. It was terrific how Mitch fit in something personal to each group member. One of our team is obsessed with whisky barrels, another loves hiking, and I love "local" stuff (you know, not the touristy, gimmicky stuff). Check, check, and check. Not only that, Mitch seemed to know everyone in the region. It felt like we were instant insiders and everyone's best friends. Amazing. I can't wait for our next trip to Scotland and the opportunity to use Copper Cairn again!
