Unjust and uncontracted termination fees - over £3k
UPDATE: After a lengthy review and out of the blue they admitted I was wrongly charged and cancelled the invoice. The process to get there of course was painful so I have left at 3 stars (revising from 1 star).
ORIGINAL:
They recently acquired Connx and we were going through termination at the time with Connx. Upon clarifying this when the new company acquired we were handed a fee of (bear in mind our usual monthly fee was about £83.86 and our new provider less than £40 per month) of £2587.02. This included £587.02 for early termination, £250 for early termination admin fee and £1750 for porting /ceasing numbers.
We had no contract remaining with Connx, they had sent a contract we said we would not sign so this was very spurious.
Of course we are refusing to pay but want to make sure everyone is aware of this new firm that has entered the UK market and now doing things in a very dubious manner.
UPDATE: Oct 27th 2025. They are now sending invoice chaser emails (likely automated). They can't find the original contract and tried to use an unsigned one that was a standard one for a date much after we signed. We are likely going to take them so small claims court for the reasons we were terminating, our handsets hadn't worked for 2 years and we were surviving off a shaky soft client.
To cap it off they got hacked and started sending us phishing emails but that is the least of our concerns.
