Fantastic 5 star customer service at Cycle King. Anthony H and the team took their time to find the perfect bike that met my needs. On a previous experience I needed an emergency repair on my bike and Robin fixed the bike for me within the hour which was a busy day when I walked in. From that experience and personal touch made me go back to purchase my new bike. Great team at Cycle King, thank you so much!

After a fairly serious accident on Saturday that resulted in my partner being thrown from her new gravel bike, I needed the bike checked over to assess the damage. I had used Cycle King in Chadwell Heath a few months earlier to service our road bikes ahead of an event and was extremely happy with the service, so I didn’t hesitate to take the bike back there.

I called early in the day and they were incredibly accommodating, agreeing to take a look at the bike at lunchtime that same day. The level of service was nothing short of outstanding. The staff were genuinely kind and caring given the circumstances, and they repaired the damage while I waited - all for an incredibly reasonable price.

I can honestly say the team there are legendary. It’s the only bike shop I’ve used that I fully trust. Thank you.

Having dropped into the Chadwell Heath Store with a rear tyre puncture they got me back on the road in no time at all.
Stocked up on a few replacement tubes at discounted prices into the bargain!

I was served by one of the managers at chadwell heath Anthony Howe he helped my son choose the right bike for him for his Christmas present and my son loves it excellent customer service he couldn’t do enough to help us

Bought a a mountain bike final cost cost was nearly £700 - told to bring bike back after 2 months for free service - I brought bike back after 4 months because I broke my leg in this time.and I was told I had to pay£55 for service - will not not be going back in here again- go elsewhere for bikes and servicing lot cheaper places out there

Been around a long time now and bought my kids bikes here years ago.
However, two recent visits with my own bike purchased elsewhere left me really happy and pleasantly surprised. The first was a helpful young lad that was very knowledgeable and efficient and fixed my puncture whilst I waited with no booking in. The second guy had no time or staff available but looked at my mountain bike anyway. He quickly identified the problem and managed to quickly fix it for me. You don’t get this service anymore so it was a throwback for me. Great experience.

🚫 Avoid CycleKing Chadwell Heath at All Costs – A Shocking Lack of Competence and Accountability
This has been, without a doubt, the most frustrating and disappointing experience I’ve ever had with a bike shop. If you’re considering CycleKing Chadwell Heath for anything beyond buying a bell or a pump, I urge you: don’t.
Roughly eight weeks ago, I dropped off my daughter’s bike for a full service, bringing in all the required parts myself — new bottom bracket, rear derailleur, chain, front and rear cogs. I was quoted £50–£55 for the job, including fitting all parts. Fair enough.
But that’s where the professionalism ended.

❌ Unauthorised Work Without Consent
When I returned to collect the bike, they’d fitted a new front derailleur I never asked for — and told me I’d have to pay £9.99 extra or they’d remove it. No call, no heads-up, no permission. I paid just to avoid further delays. In hindsight, that was a mistake.

❌ Incompetent Diagnostics and Repeated Failures
Once home, the bike’s gears were completely misaligned — refusing to shift onto either end of the cassette. I took it back. They “fixed” that, but created a new issue: the chain was now grinding loudly against the front derailleur, especially in high and low gear combinations.
From there, it became a six-week nightmare of excuses, delays, and repeated visits. Each time I was told something new:
• It’s the gear levers.
• It’s the front mech.
• It’s the size of the cogs.
• It “just needs to wear in.”
Let’s be clear: none of that is acceptable on a serviced bike from a professional shop. If you can’t get basic drivetrain alignment right, you shouldn’t be offering services at all.

❌ Rude, Dismissive Customer Service
Throughout this ordeal, I dealt with two staff members:
• Mark, the manager, was helpful, honest, and tried to do the right thing.
• Liam, the assistant manager, was a complete contrast — dismissive, evasive, and at times outright rude.
When I asked Liam to double-check the bike before yet another collection trip, his response was:
“I’ll do it if I get a chance. I do have a shop to run, you know.”
Frankly, that attitude sums up the entire experience: they didn’t care, they didn’t communicate, and they didn’t deliver.

❌ A Deeply Concerning Excuse
To top it all off, Liam told me that “lots of bikes in the shop with this gearing have the same rubbing issue” and that they “just need time to bed in.”
Let that sink in: a professional bike shop, openly admitting that many of their bikes leave the shop with obvious mechanical faults. That’s not just incompetence — it’s negligence.

✅ Resolved in 30 Minutes by a Proper Professional
In the end, I called James from Young Again Cycles, who had worked on my wife’s bike. He came by, inspected the issue, and had it completely resolved in 30 minutes. No excuses. No new parts. No fuss. Just proper skill and pride in his work — two things sorely lacking at CycleKing.

Final Word:
CycleKing Chadwell Heath are not fit to call themselves a professional bike shop. They lack the expertise, the customer service, and the accountability that any reputable service provider should have. My advice? Spend your money elsewhere — and save yourself the weeks of wasted time and repeated trips.
If you value your time, your money, or your bike: do not use this shop.

Funny how you replied within an hour of this review — yet over eight weeks, I couldn’t get a call back or a clear answer. Let’s not forget my family sat on your shop floor for two hours while you failed (again) to fix the bike, only to say, “best leave it with us.”

You mention “hundreds of great reviews,” but skip over the ones that sound exactly like mine — long delays, poor fixes, rude service. That’s not an exception. It’s a pattern.

And instead of addressing a single point I raised, you hid behind a copy-and-paste PR response. Reputation’s easy to write. Good service isn’t.

The young man in the shop was very helpful. he double checked my new bike to make sure everything was okay and gave me loads of information and made sure i bring my bike back in six weeks for a recheck or the bike warranty would be invalidated.

It was the first time visiting Cycle King today . I was impressed!
The shop was quite spacious and the environment relaxed. The staff sounded really friendly.
We were served by Mark, who was very helpful. Would definitely recommend Cycle King in Chadwell Heath.

i bought an Emu Evo ebike last summer from Cycle King Chadwell Heath and needed some advice now. Marc took time to explain pros and cons and today when i went to the shop Liam and Robin were super helpful. A big thank you to all 3. Really appreciate the help.

Friendly and helpful staff, but my chain snapped after just under three weeks so will need to take it back for repairs

Cycle King in Chadwell Heath, Dagenham, I've been a customer of theirs for years, why? Because they care, not about taking my money, but about me as a customer.

I went in again today with some more crap for them to take a look at for me, the customer service there is second to none, and the service is legendary, the mechanic team and front facing team are fantastic and take care of stuff in a timely manner.

I cannot rate this store enough and I recommend to anyone who'd listen, thanks once again.
