Assigned the job to a business called Prestigious Plumbing which gets absolutely terrible reviews. Check your emails to see which contractor they assign the job to. Called back and cancelled the job. Waste of time.

We had a gas leak, and I have no trouble with the work Dan's Plumbing did, apart from the fact they forgot to put the chain around the tanks and I had to ask them to come back. And also it will be some more weeks before we find out if the work was successful (our tanks last for as long as they used to).
My concern is with the price, which from what I have found out since was a monumental amount more than should be charged for such work, and I've seen others complain about similar problems.
I accepted the cost because I had no clue about such work and the costs, and the plumber spoke about the possibility of there being an explosion and how he could "go to jail" if he didn't do some initial work on it before the main one. Also, we'd had the problem for a few months and I couldn't afford to keep waiting and going through gas tanks. We had to get it fixed as quickly as possible and I felt trapped into accepting whatever price they quoted.
But I think we have been over-charged horrifically, I feel like a fool and I feel like there's nothing that can be done about it.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience needs to be a warning for anyone considering using this company.

I had an issue with a toilet valve that wasn’t working properly and kept the water running. I called Dan’s Plumbing and asked for a quote. They told me they needed to inspect it first and confirmed the $0 call‑out fee.

From the moment the plumber arrived, he was unfriendly. He didn’t touch anything—just looked at the toilet—and immediately presented three quotes ranging from “basic” to “best,” with the “best” being a full toilet replacement. The basic quote was $1,800, which I rejected straight away because it was clearly just a valve replacement.

He insisted no plumber in Brisbane would do it for less and that it “needed” to be done. After I refused again, he called his supervisor—visibly frustrated—and suddenly the price dropped to $900. I still said no.

Then came the pressure tactics. He tried to bully me into paying a call‑out fee, claiming it was in the terms and conditions. I had already read them, and there is nothing about this. He even played back my original call, trying to argue that the fee would only be waived if I went ahead with the job, which was not what I was told.

After more back‑and‑forth, another call to his boss, and increasingly rude behaviour, I stood my ground and refused to pay. I knew I was in the right.

Reading other reviews afterwards, it’s clear this is a pattern. These guys are a scam. They rely on pressure, misinformation, and intimidation.

I got the job done properly by another plumber for $250.

Be aware, ask questions upfront, and do NOT let them bully you into paying anything. Stay away from this company.

Dreadful service. Two appointments with a 3 hour window and they didn’t turn up on time for either. It was only after I chased them that they turned up. No phone call to say they’re held up etc zip zero communication and their prices are a rip off.

My 18 month old hot water tank was leaking from the copper pipe. I called Dan's. They sent someone. The quote was for $900, the new hot water tank only cost $1200. I didn't want to proceed but then they informed me that I would need to pay the call out fee. So I agreed for them to go ahead, I really think the price was ridiculous and I feel completely ripped off. I encourage people to search for a different company to help you out. Similar to other comments Dan's outsourced the job to Prestigious plumbing.

Dan's plumbing "allocated" my job to the Prestigious Plumbing group which led to a bad experience. ENSURE you get at least 3 quotes unless the urgency of the problem limits your options.

DO NOT USE! Over pricing and not even fixing the problem. Using pressure sales tactics to force people to make a quick decision.

The plumber we had in Northern suburbs melbourne charged us 980 bucks for 15mins of "investigation". His quote was for more investigations 12k worth which would still not find the issue, there would than be more quotes for fixing the problem.
Inconsistent with what they say, i wouldnt trust them. Stay away from this company.

No one should ever have to endure the terrible experience I did.

I had an absolutely horrendous experience with Dan’s Plumbing. Not only did they overcharge me, but they also overpromised—assuring me that everything would be sorted and fully operational. In reality, their service was far below standard. They left the job not even half done, and what was done is completely unusable, creating potential electrical hazards.

Over the past week, I made countless calls to both their office and the assigned plumber. Every time, I was given empty promises that someone would call me back, but no one ever did. I even sent online messages, which were blatantly ignored and left on read.

This entire ordeal has been more than frustrating and inconvenient—it has been utterly infuriating and potentially dangerous.

Don’t be fooled by the reviews. Read the news articles from 7News and the Daily Telegraph first by searching for 'Dan's Plumbing Complaints'

To make matters worse, I later discovered that the company responsible for all of this has had its licence suspended by NSW regulators after multiple similar complaints. That alone should be a massive red flag.
On top of all this, there also appears to be no way to submit a Google Review which makes it more dodgy in my opinion.

I strongly urge everyone to avoid them at all costs. Dan’s Plumbing and Ferguson’s Plumbing are the same operation under Australia Trade Pty Ltd—steer clear.

ps: I dialled 02 9078 7865 from the Dan's Plumbing Website. They sent a subcontractor (Brofessionals Pty Ltd), and the invoice didn’t mention Dan’s at all. This seems to be a pattern reported by other customers, and it raises serious concerns about transparency and accountability.

During the call has been told that "There is NO call out fee, we waive it if you proceed with our service. The quote is free on site".

Their contractor came in, I walked him around my house to show the problem for 15 mins. After he proposed a "complimentary CCTV check", which was also 10-15 mins. Then he came to me with ~$900 invoice for today.

He then said that he CAN give me two quotes, one for digging 5 meter long trench to replace the pipe ($12k) and another for the leak detector that suppose to use Nitrogen to find the leak.

Then he called his "supervisor" (even tho nobody asked him) and this dude tried to pressure me to accept the quotes from them for everything.

We said no, we need to get other quotes to compare.

None of the quotes were sent later to me, I had to call 5 times to get one of them, which had a different price again and a different scope of work to what was discussed.

$900 for 15 mins on site without even touching anything dirty and "Complimentary CCTV". What are you a prime minister?

I understand that Dan's Plumbing is just calling other plumbers in the area. So I called them to complain about my experience. And response was "I can connect you to the contractor and you can talk to them". What kind of service is that? You hired that contractor so you should deal with them.

Stay away, typical money grab company who doesn't care about customers and hire cowboys that over charge you

I could not recommend these guys enough. The service and the staff have done an amazing job.

Guys did a great and efficient job, found the issue and fixed it in a professional manner, definitely recommended them to other in the future.

Bailey explained everything very clearly and was polite and efficient
