There are way more scams in stocks then there ever used to be and they used to be much easier to avoid or ignore since, without social media there just aren’t as many accounts pretending and even “real” people at licensed broker dealers are selling garbage and other fake crypto and real estate and business “coaching” for “systems” they invented and which would never actually work if someone reviewed more carefully since any intelligent investor or expert who’s done this long-term without high hidden risk will understand this immediately because most wealth advisors I know only pick stock that pays them through loads or higher premiums/fees when other mutuals and managers are cheaper, similar and easily monitored with publicly-traded tickers/prospectus and quarterly calls/etc for one to obtain a complete, objective third-party evaluation in a much better and statistically reliable way so any smart advisor isn't using fancy words they learned from college/videos just so you won't understand them, which should raise flags immediately for anyone working with people pushing products/similar for which other independent trusted CPAs and fee-only Fiduciaries without their own product-sales type arrangements can objectively comment. I strongly recommend starting with and following a disciplined investor like Jaffee when starting because that discipline will prevent mistakes where most wealth and/or accredited investors would agree. Don’t wait since you might not be able to recover later!
