SECOND CHANCE
I probably was a little rough on these guys with an earlier post. I was frustrated because they did not have a loaner program. But, my overall experience with them has been fairly good. They mixed up a couple orders, but we got through that. One of their audiologist, Will, did an outstanding job tuning my hearing aids. Prices are good.
I’m changing my rating for them from one star to four stars. If they had a loaner program, I would give them five.

Best prices for hearing aids, just don't expect as much service as you do need using hearing aids
I did find Direct Hearing to have the best prices in hearing aids, specifically the ones I wanted. Shipping time to receive the aids, and to have them sent back and forth for service, is longer than I'd like, about 2 weeks for each (initial order, or for out and back service). Over the phone programming is iffy, meaning when they change your program, make sure you keep them on the line after they've made the changes, to give yourself time to make sure the program is what you wanted and expected. Twice now I've had programs or settings changed, and after completing the programming and hanging up, I find something is wrong. But then the same thing has happened with my ex-local audiologist after he made changes, so it's not necessarily just Direct Hearing's fault. Both are under a time constraint, and I don't like wasting anyone's time to double check this kind of thing, but keep in mind, this can be the result.

I just finished the first hearing aid tuning appointment with Direct Hearing's service. I was given nearly an hour of testing and application explanation. Before the appointment I also received some original manufacturer receiver cables to make an adjustment. Very professional service! Very pleased.

Three shipments to finally get the order right
To start, I am a Direct Hearing customer; I bought my hearing aids from Direct Hearing a little over a year ago. The reason I'm giving this experience 2 stars is because it took 3 shipments before my order was fulfilled correctly. I placed a reorder for the same hearing aid domes I got from Direct Hearing last year. When the domes arrived, they were the wrong size. I contacted customer support about the issue, and they sent out another set right away. However, the second order contained the exact same wrong sized domes. After contacting them again to report the incorrect item, I finally got the right thing. They were very quick to resolve the issues, but it shouldn't have taken three times to get the order right. Another issue I wanted to bring up is when I bought my hearing aids from Direct Hearing, I was told that I would get free supplies (like domes) for life. Last year, when I ordered some, they were completely free. This time, I was charged $15 for shipping and handling. They said the domes were still free but that I had to pay $15. When I talked to customer service, I explained how last year I got the domes completely free. The only explanation I got was that the policy now, even for those of us who bought the hearing aids from Direct Hearing, is to pay. I will not be buying any supplies from Direct Hearing again. There are cheaper domes elsewhere and the multiple wrong orders was too frustrating to deal with again in the future.

Fixed in a timely manner
They fixed the hearing aid in a timely fashion. It looks like they put new retention wires in that are so stiff they won't bend to fit in auricle properly. Hopefully they'll become more flexible with time.
