Disboard Reviews 

..while the service was really useful, but we were also aware of the potential malice it simultaneously allowed.

So we spent a long time preparing the server for all kinds of eventual scenarios an attacker would do on our server.

Our server has been using Disboard for 2+ years now..still in good standing for now.

Even after a successful nuke from a malicious actor from DSC advertising bot, we still got back on our feet and even now I was thinking of setting Disboard back up..

..but as I read the reviews here, particularly the 1-2 stars..

..there does indeed seems to be some common themes/issues with the way the review system is set up:

1. Reviews cannot be given immediately after leaving a server.

While understandably to protect the interests of the existing legitimate servers by not allowing bad actors review bomb a server to hell, but servers that are indeed bad actors themselves might because of this delayed review submission process move on to survive..which brings this to..

2: Malicious actors can review bomb legit servers in an effort to bring down legit servers, further promoting malicious servers. Malicious actors have more incentive to post reviews and more of them than legit users with legit concerns, especially when they cannot even post them on immediately leaving a server. In most cases, legit users will have want nothing to do with a bad server within the first day of leaving to ever return to it again. And don't even talk about positive reviews.. reviews like those come once in a blue moon.. unless you have some means to post positive reviews from within the discord bot itself, maybe.. use zapier?

Alternative proposal:
Instead of a delayed review submission, I strongly recommend you to implement a user reputation system as such as many other big corporations are doing so already, such as Amazon, Quora, Reddit, etc.

Reputation separates the fraud accounts from the legit accounts and their words and hence, reviews hold much more weight than newer accounts which are often used by bad actors to escape punishment.

Whether a server is deemed good or bad, should not be based on a single review, and in fact should be based on a collective weight of reputation. With again, high reputation users carrying more weight.
Upon breaching a specified weight threshold, you can then consider said server as bad.

We really wish Disboard can overcome these challenges, especially in the AI era. Maybe use AI to help you filter out these sites, so that you won't have to be bogged down so much?

Disboard doesn't take reports seriously or lets you leave reviews after you leave a Discord server. I got harassed and threatened by a swarm of racist and homophobic Dolts in a server called "MD Crackhouse" that said they were gonna come to my house and "drug me with vaccines then kill me" because I'm an anti-vax that fell for a sick "joke" about CP that they made.
Reports should be taken seriously and we should be allowed to leave reviews after we leave a server.

I can't add a server. I get "This server is currently under review" and no change in days. Since Disboard is now useless, I think I will make a Disboard alternative. It's fairly trivial to program.

Disboard was fine until I was userbanned due to power abuse by the moderators of the Disboard website. They shove their fandom politics (and God knows what other politics) down your throat and if they don't like what they see, even if your servers ARENT against their guidelines and ToS, they will ban you and your servers, abusing their own rules and abusing their users.

Disboard have really gone down the toilet, what was once a really good website to advertise and find servers is now a site held together by a few threads of string. You can't do anything on disboadd without running into an error, the bot is so unresponsive it's unreal. The worst thing is the review system, 25 days and people are still waiting, whereas others get their servers reviewed within minutes, don't bring this up in the support server though, the staff themselves are actually alright, it's either the helpers or the people who want staff, that are incredibly passive aggressive or just rude.

Staff in the Discord Server were racist; Called me the N Word Repeatedly.
Server Review System is Extremely Slow as it is only moderated by the owner of the site himself; Making it so that server Reviews can take More than 2 weeks to Process.
Dont use this site, its awful.

I used to like disboard because its very popular and their bot does generally give you alot of members however i went on their support server and got nothing buy abuse from staff iv had staff members lie to me telling me "you wont be banned for being autsitic disboard is a welcoming space" olny to be told to f off by a moderator and banned for making a data erasure request, aslo disboard doesnt have a pulbic email to contact about GDPR concerns meaning disboard.org can collect your data without your concent and you cand object to it.

It doesn't make sense how you can't leave a review after you left server. Defeats the whole purpose of reviews.

Be CAREFUL with using Disboard!
Recently, I have added Disboard to my own server, in hope to grow my community like it promised. But it left me in total shock, that majority of those people who joined are people, who are into the NFT-community. As I noticed they all came from Disboard-search, I kicked the bot out of my server and stopped using it. Never, ever again. Besides, I also noticed most trolls came from that Disboard site too, not just user's or bots who are into NFT. Some of them also spam links to NFT websites or even porn/nsfw into your server.

Please, if you're protective over your community servers and if your server is very important to you, AVOID using this bot at all cost, to avoid getting spammed and flooded with these kind of people.

staff keep saying that your server is "breaking" rules that do not exist, if you are nice to them they treat you like garbage and will not unban your server, the staff were not responding to a question i asked 4 times while they responded to questions sent around 1 minute later, when you want help from them they are unresponsive and if they are giving a response its either very vague or they create a imaginary rule, but if you start asking them why they are not responding they get very aggressive and they respond to all your criticism but not to the question, they also allow hosting cp servers while they ban those that are marked as anarchy and even if those anarchy servers do not allow posting cp they still get banned while the cp servers are not, i do not recommend going to their site because your server is going to get banned for nothing and even if it gets banned for something you will have zero chance to appeal it even if its not a major offense, also another thing is that they delete bad ratings from their support server rating page so trustpilot is the only place where you can rate their support server without getting your review deleted, 1 star

An entirely unmoderated site, full of provocative content.

I am extremely disappointed and frustrated that my server has been banned from Disboard for allegedly promoting "child porn," which is completely untrue. I have no means of appealing the decision or getting any further information on why this happened. I find this to be a terrible experience with Disboard, and I am extremely dissatisfied with the way this has been handled.

I was trying to connect my server to Disboard when I realized that my server was banned. When I contacted Disboard mods, they said they don't allow "no rules" servers. My server follows Discord TOS and community guidelines, but we don't make up rules and silence people for having their own opinion. When I tried to explain this to the mods, they kept reinforcing their statements that my server has "no rules" and closed my ticket.

my server got blacklisted because we offer steam services that are not againts discord or steam TOS yet the admins or helpers from disboard support kept saying it is .. bla bla bla garbage

I got abused on a server and i reported that but they removed cuz i i told everything how they did to me but when i asked why they removed they said im accousing them and banned me so i can review.
They are still hosting that toxic server they called them themselves warm welcoming and sfw but its not.

Unprofessional, petty-minded and childish "moderators and admin" who do not do their jobs or take their roles seriously, abuse their power and allow others to abuse the power they have. More so, they seem to think it's funny to do so. Want to appoint themselves Judge, Jury and Executioner of Discord, but shun any responsibility when held to account for it. Avoid.
