Poor quality and awful customer service

My experience was terrible, especially with customer service. The H3 I received was damaged, and it had several quality issues. I contacted customer service, and they asked me to perform a bunch of tests over three months. Eventually, I just received an email suggesting I upgrade motors. It was a complete waste of my time. I do not recommend this company at all.

I purchased a DOF H6 in January 2024

I purchased a DOF H6 in January, I had an issue with one of the control boxes, DOF provided excellent customer service and stuck with me until the issue was resolved.
I absolutely love my H6 and would not hesitate to make the same purchase again.

The build quality is 100% rock solid.

I knew I was going to enjoy this motion control platform, BUT what I was not prepared for was HOW MUCH I was going to enjoy it, my expectations have been surpassed on a magnitude of 1000% !!!!!!!

I routinely spend 20-30 hours a week flying / driving !

Satisfied Customer - Four times over..... :<)

I've had four individual purchases from this company, between Feb 2021 and Aug 2023. An H3, then an H3-H6 upgrade kit, then an H3 SFU upgrade, then an H6 SFU upgrade kit. Each order came (to the UK) within the predicted time period, and with no damage or faulty items. Online customer support has always been prompt and successful. The DOF platforms have robust and well engineered components. I particularly like the substantial bolt together designs which make additions and mods very easy to perform. The only caveat I would add is that the assembly of something as complex as a motion platform demands a reasonable level of DIY competence and a respect of basic engineering. Something similar to old time car maintenance, which alas nowadays seems to be a diminishing skill set for many users.

still waiting

The bad, I have had my h6 for a year now. I have never used it once. It is not plug and play. I am not a computer techie at all, I am a pilot. All the fix it websites are way over my head.

The good, I still believe in the company. I really believe they do care. I have been on the phone countless hours with customer service. They are extremely friendly and helpful, but have not had a solution yet. After several months of that, they gave me a new control box. It worked perfect right out of the box. But the other side never worked either, and the problem with that is when using both sides at the same time is, the non working side messes up the good side. The reason I gave it 2 stars is I think some day someone will have a solution, but I just do not have enough time to keep messing with it.

These guys are amazing

These guys are amazing. Their system is solid and very competitively priced. They’re always looking to improve the system. Customer services is absolutely bob on. I had an issue early doors, they fixed the issue overnight and pushed the fix out to everyone. Seriously. These guys are amazing. Their products, awesome. Don’t hesitate :)

this is the end game of simming

this is the end game of simming. excellent customer support. great performance. I have the h6. the new simplified assembly is also a big deal. My friends, my 15yr old's (girl) and my 12yr old's(boy) visit me now just to experience this chair. The experience blows everyone away. And all of them say, after experiencing motion they dont want to go back to their own non motion setups.

I've had a P3 for 6 years

I've had a P3 for 6 years and never had more than a minor issue. I race at least 3 nights plus weekends consistently and I love my P3. Igor and team have always been responsive any time I've made contact.

My experiences in preordering

I can only base my review on how my experiences have been with DOF Reality this far. Their customer service is top notch. Very helpful in helping me decide what to order! Now I am in the waiting period for my H6 to arrive!

No qualms at all

For the amount of coin spent and after 2 years of use I think I'm qualified to say I have no regrets at all buying the H3. I've tweaked it here and there and everywhere, some ways no one ever will. Bone stock is what I'm basing this review on.

Worth every cent.

From the very first contact with Igor.Response was immediate.Had my P6 for 2 years now and all ive had to do was one recalibration.All i do is switch it on and it does what is supposed to.Yes i was dissapointed to start with the cogging in small turns.But DOF listened to the users and have fixed it.For the price you cant beat it

Great Service (Way) After The Sale

I've had the P3 for a few years and use it exclusively for racing. I use it nearly daily and so far it's performed very well for me. I absolutely love the immersion.

When I ran into an issue with a weld splitting on the main beam, I immediately contacted support knowing that I was well out of warranty. But I was hoping they'd sell me the replacement part. The service tech was very helpful and due to the nature of the issue I was having, they offered to cover the cost of the part and I only had to pay shipping, even though I was out of warranty. It was shipped the next day.

The replacement I received had extra support on the seam that I had an issue with which tells me that they're constantly working to improve their products and I'm confident that issue is permanently resolved.

There customer service is top shelf

There customer service is top shelf. I had my first experience with the DOF h3 at MSFS expo, but I didn't buy it. I got home on Monday and decided to order on Friday. No show discount,shame on me. Two days after I ordered here comes another discount. I emailed customer service and within an hour I had a credit back on my credit card. Now that's customer service!!!

I ordered a P3 and it worked great

I ordered a P3 and it worked great. As time went on DOF improved the product and offered upgrades as they made the new models better. I ordered updated gearboxs after a year or two and had no issue installing them. My P3 is going on 4 years now with no failures of any part.
Speaking of every part, every part can be bought from various well known sellers. So this thing will last me forever. Not sure who those other reviewers were dealing with but Igor at DOF has always taken care of me in a timely fashion on every upgrade.
The new models have really improved over time. DOF does not sit on there success but they listen to feedback and constantly improve the product. I am envious of the new machines with updated electronics and stronger frames. I use my P3 daily and it will put a smile on the face of anyone that sits in it.

Good value for money

Got my rig as expected, on time. Took longer than expected to put it together. The instructions are not optimal. Support team has been very responsive and helpful and always solved my problems the few times I've been in contact with them.

Worst Company to deal with,
Wasted 2 Grand, worked for about 4/5 times, the power pack exploded tried to get a replacement power pack in steed the tech guy was rude un helpfully ended up chucking it in the bin.

DONT Buy it from them...

Pray that you don't get a faulty unit

I bought the H6 on the 27. of October, it was shipped on 29. of November and I managed to get it build up at 22.12. (I had problems with screws and in addition not much time). The first few runs I noticed a strong stumbling when breaking in msfs but only on the left side. After a firmware update, the left side was completely unresponsive. Fast forward to now, the rig still doesnt work even though 110 Mails (not a typo, 110!) since 24.12.23 and 100+ hours on my side try to fix it.

I cannot say anything about the flight experience since it never worked. My main issues, concerns and finally reasons I would not recommend anyone to buy it:

- The Support responds most of the time around 1AM-2AM my timezone CET. If you live anywhere were you are not awake at this time this means every question, result or clarification waits at least 24h. If they don't answered your question --> another 24h.
- Support expect a moderate to high technical knowledge for a regular consumer for fixing issue. This relates to pc/software as well as mechanics. They have instructions online but it is full of typos and sometimes just outdated. Linked videos are outdated as well. 2 requests (with photos attached) I received so you get an idea (1:1 quote):
->" 5)check all silver power modules have a green LEDs on inside them ? and find the corresponding driver board and quickly click this two small buttons on it marked red (one at a time) the motor should rotate in one direction AND another"
->"Yes if the diode doesn't make the light come one you can put them back and try to Disconnect citron wire (#2 in the photo): and see if the light come back"
Another time I need to reset the sensors but the online instructions was just wrong. Depended on your technical skill, you might have trouble to follow.
- The support is friendly but have trouble answering all of the questions asked. In addition I have the feeling the try to keep you busy with tasks instead of fixing the issue once and for all. Other times they were engaged and solution focused but most of the time I felt really left alone.
—> they recommend a team viewer session to fix a issue but don't suggest a time slot. So you answer them with a suggestion you hope they can accommodate and wait in front of your pc hoping somebody connects.
—> After 1 month it was clear that one control box was faulty. I receive a spare control box (took another 2 weeks to ship) and had to pay for the custom fee. Even tough I asked 5 times for a refund (around 30€) with all invoices, support didn't even respond to that question and just ignored it. I don't expect to pay for replacement parts during the first months in my warranty.
—> they say they provide a label for sending back the faulty control box only to ask in the next mail if I already have sent it back (without providing it). I still not received the shipping label to this date.

So are there any goods?

- I can imagine that the rig will be quite cool if it will work someday.

I really hope that one day I can tell you how great the experience of flying in it will be and it was all worth it. Until this day, I cannot recommend buying one.
