Drain Doctor - North West Reviews 

1. Website promises site visit and no-obligation quote. However this was not true for me. I decided to go ahead after being reassured this was standard procedure for CCTV drain survey.
2. Upon arrival to property, technician straight-away claimed his equipment could not carry out survey because our gulleys were old and made of clay. None of this was even hinted at whilst agreeing the work over the phone. However, he promptly offered to do a drain upgrade to new gulleys...
3. Technician then used an existing repair to our soil vent pipe to put a camera down that section of the drain. He charged us £190 for that and a few days later we had a leak in the soil vent pipe.
4. Drain Doctor refused to take any responsibility for the leak and insisted they carried out the service correctly and in a professional manner.
5. They ignored my initial complaint until I threatened (in a second email) to take matters further.
PLEASE NOTE Drain Doctor, I do not expect a public reply from you here. I have discussed everything I needed to discuss with you privately. I am simply sharing my terrible experience.

I was referred to Drain Doctor by United Utilities. Although they initially said they didn’t have plumbers working for them any more Carley did phone back saying they had a couple of technicians who would be able to do the job. However she was not able to get one for Friday afternoon but promised someone would attend late Saturday morning. She was excellent and kept me fully informed all Friday afternoon. The plumber Sid arrived at 10.30am on Sat. He quoted for the job - looking for the meter took a lot of time and was unsuccessful and turned out not to be necessary as he managed to clamp the lower pipe, repair the adjoining copper pipe and replace the stop tap. The job seemed expensive but it was Saturday and an emergency due to water leaking over our car park and the road. Payment was required at the time which was understandable. We were glad to get the water leak stopped. The invoice showing payment received came on Monday morning as Sid promised.

Had an absolute nightmare with a blocked toilet in ground floor flat turned up done the job no drama

Both technicians were great. Came quick and hopefully resolved our constant leaks. So far so good and would definitely go back to them in future! Thank you!

It all started with a blocked soil pipe, having contacted so called 24 hr plumbers who didn't turn up. I spotted a Drain Doctor van on my way home from shopping. I rang booked in. Pete arrived, unblocked the pipe, something wasn't right, so he put the camera down for a look see, we had a collapsed drain pipe. He came back the following week to fix it, which he did. A great job in spite of the awful weather. Great Job highly recommended.

Arrived really quickly and resolved the situation on the same day.

All the drains still blocked and flooding took ages to get here and charged £400 for the sink drains to still back up and still blocked!! Didn’t put cameras down didn’t put rods down just went in the back yard opened the manhole and said it was done!! No one is answering my calls now!

I feel I was misinformed by the Drain Doctor technician, which resulted me paying for a service which should have been handled by United Utilities for free.

Jack was friendly, professional and did the job with minimal fuss, clearing out all we needed. Great to work with him.

On contacting Drain Doctor NW online with our problem they got back to us very quickly with a response and came to the property the next day at the time given.
Peter was very knowledgeable and helpful and a pleasure to deal with. He sorted the problem and using the camera and diagnostic tools was able to tell us what had caused the problem and what the next steps were.
He returned a couple of days later with the appropriate equipment and completed the job.
We would not hesitate to recommend this company for their friendly, efficient and thorough workmanship.

Phoned drain doctor to come look at a blocked toilet. The gentleman asked a few questions (IE does it happen often, what have I tried to unblock etc).

He then gave me 2 quotes, as would depend on the seriousness of the blockage and if it was a 2 man job or not.

He was really upfront with what the potential issues would be and the cost for each (it was the cheaper option in the end).

He also told me what was done, how he had tested it was working and how to prevent in the future.

Very quick response, less than an hour from initial call to someone arriving, even though I didn't describe it as an emergency.
They were efficient and knowledgeable and did a job that I couldn't have done as a DIYer.
A shocking amount of money for an hour and a half of work unclogging a drain with a jet hose, but I don't know if it is more than other companies charge. In the end, I was happy to have the drain unblocked and was fortunate enough to be able to afford it and they seemed like a good company.

Amazing work! After an ongoing problem continuing for over 10 years, including sewage spilling on our driveway and United utilities claiming that the responsibility is our as on property boundaries, the engineer from Drains doctor ran a CCTV camera and found the issue to be well away out of boundaries. He was very polite, informative, hard working and explained in detail the situation to UU.
Im very greatful for the work he did
Hopefully this will put an end to my long term drainage nightmare.

Very prompt attendance. Diagnosed the problem immediately and rectified the problem. He was very friendly and professional.

In addition he found a crack in the drain which could cause a major problem. He explained what he could do to prevent it happening. It was expensive to do it but at no time did he push me to have it done. Just advised and showed me the problem and I told him to go ahead.

Excellent and prompt service. Was out to our business same day to sort our issue. The technician was professional and friendly. Drain Doctor will be our first call going forward.
