Our clinician is pleased to hear that you found the home visit professional and reassuring. In relation to the follow-up, our policy (clearly stated on our website) explains that free follow-up reviews must be arranged within 2 weeks of the initial appointment and are carried out in clinic.

According to our records, your first contact with the clinic regarding the ongoing blockage was after the 2-week follow-up period had passed. That said, we still offered to honour a free follow-up appointment in clinic as a goodwill gesture, despite it being outside our stated timeframe. Unfortunately, this option was declined.

We’re sorry if there was any confusion during phone conversations and we acknowledge that this may have felt inconsistent — that is certainly not the experience we aim to provide. We take customer care very seriously and will use your feedback to improve internal communication.

If you do change your mind, we remain happy to arrange a free follow-up clinic appointment at your nearest clinic, subject to availability. Please feel free to contact us directly and we’ll be glad to help.

The £65 charge is for the professional ear wax removal service itself, not for the length of time spent in the appointment. The cost covers the clinician’s training and qualifications, specialist equipment, clinical governance, insurance, and the safe assessment and treatment of your ears.

Ear wax removal can vary greatly from person to person — in some cases it may take only a few minutes, while in others it can take up to 30 minutes or more, depending on the amount, hardness, and position of the wax. The same level of care, expertise, and clinical responsibility is required regardless of how quickly the procedure is completed.
We always aim to provide safe, effective treatment rather than prolonging appointments unnecessarily.
