EcoBright Energy Group LTD Reviews 

We had a battery system installed in early May by EcoBright to help manage our solar panels more efficiently. The two guys who did the installation had travelled from East London (we live in west Cumbria!) We were not shown how to programme the system to import and export electricity from the grid, got no help registering the installation with the responsible bodies, registering the guarantees or getting access to appropriate tariffs which proved very difficult. The inverter had a problem connecting with the internet and would not stay online, the batteries were not connected to the internet as required and began to develop faults. We got no response from EcoBright to various emails sent from July onwards to request help with these problems and then found that the company phone number was disconnected. It emerged that the company which has only been registered for a year had changed hands and the staff who organised the installation had left the company. I did receive a phone call out of the new company owner Michael who was not able to get anyone out quickly to sort the problems out. He did agree in principle to pay for an electrician from a local specialist company to come out providing I got a quote but by this time the problems had been going on for nearly 2 months. A family friend who understands modern electronic systems came out and after two visits and a few hours work he was eventually able to sort out the various problems. The system has now been working correctly since 14th September.
This company may be able to supply and install battery systems but they have not been able to provide the support we needed in accordance with the contract we signed specifying that they would provide two years support after installation. They should not in my view be installing battery systems to support solar panels unless they are able to provide ongoing support with any problems that arise after installation especially in locations far away from their base in East London.

I have been extemely disappointed by this company. I signed a contract in May 26 which included quote: "Full monitoring by us and assistance with guarantee for full system". This was to enhance the performance of my still very successful 18 panel 2011 installation.

Originally the App did not show the panel array and when that was sorted out it was clear that only 17 out of 18 panels were displayed.

My mistake at that point was that I didn't immediately raise it with Ecobright - but according to the contract I needn't have done as ithe system was being fully monitored.

When I raised it with Jack at Ecobright, he changed the style of the display and it clearly showed that one panel was not generating any power - for how long is anybody's guess as I was the one who raised it, not the 24/7 monitoring system. By early July Jack was aware of the problem. Nothing actually happened until on 23 July he told me that the technical department had been approached to see what the problem is. Nothing happened at my end. On 4 August
as I was being driven on a long family trip, I eventually got hold of SolarEdge, the equipment manufacturers - not an easy connection to make - and within a few minutes they confirmed that the problem was that one of the new pieces of kit was not working and have sent me a replacement which is due to arrive on 10 August.

I relayed this to Jack, who had already told me he was away in China on business but I have had no acknowledgement nor any plan for fitting the replacement piece on the roof array.

My conclusion are:

1. The system is clearly NOT being monitored 24/7, even though this was one of the major selling points for me and is explicit in the contract.

2. Ecobright have no resillience when one (key) person is away as it appears only Jack can arrange things.

3. It is not at all clear that the considerable amount of money I spent on the so-called improved system was money well spent.

4. I have also lost a significant amount of money from the Feed In Tariff that I should have earned - especially in this very sunny summer. To be fair, Jack has said he will talk about compensation when he returns from China

5. I have no idea if the system is better than before as it is not working properly so I can't compare it with earlier performance.

A young but very progressive company with caring staff that keep in touch throughout the installation.
After initial logistical problems (not their fault) the actual process was painless. I have no hesitation in recommending them highly

There was an unforeseen difficulty with the installation. This was overcome efficiently and effectively with no cost to myself. The installers did a good job. The system is up and running well. I would definitely recommend. David G

Great staff, at the door, rep, installers and in the office! No pressure sales but answered questions well. Office staff very helpful with the tech side of informing my solar FIT company, about getting a battery installed. Excellent company.

Installers very hard-working and expert, even through two setbacks (not their fault).
And must mention VVS scaffolders, very good.

The addition of the storage battery and the new parallel panel connections have improved the performance of my solar array. The planning and information was accurate and just what we wanted. The fitters had all the parts and the fitting went as planned despite the torrential rainfall half way through the roof fittings. We hadn't expected a new inverter system which has taken a few days to get used to the new monitoring system but is now easy to use. In addition we can set the battery to charge up in the morning cheap rate before the heat pump kicks in. A win win situation.

Overall good experience with ecobright! The 5kw battery is working as it should be and we have received the schematic we requested within 2 hours. Will use this company again.

I am not new to Solar, our original installation was fitted 2012 and has served us well!
Sine 2012 there been countless calls from companies trying to sell their services which I have declined, until the most recent which was from EcoBright Energy group! There service was to carry out a survey of our existing installation, to determine all of the functions were operating to the maximum.
We arranged a suitable date for their operative to call to carry out the survey. Their sales member/engineer called a couple of days later, Andy Swift, Andy was oozing confidence and knowledge. So we proceeded for Andy's proposals to be installed.
This required scaffolding, for them to check each panel, clean the surface, and convert the existing installation (21 panels)wired in series to the inverter, to an optimised connecter to each panel connected to a new inverter. The scaffolding was installed in two days with the installers calling the next day, and boy was it cold! They went about their work regardless, they were brilliant! All panels cleaned, optimisers fitted along with the new Solar Edge inverter. They cleaned up and we were connected up and running.
Why had I not had this done earlier, because I had not heard of EcoBright!! I now have a system that provides me with better generation, monitoring of each individual panel performance, which they also monitor on my behalf . And great the scaffolding was removed the next day. All in all a great investment Well done EcoBright, the 2 installers, Andy & Jack.

Rees and H worked continuously in a most professional manner. After the installation was completed, Rees explained how its all worked and helped me to access the AlphaESS App in order to monitor the battery working. They then cleaned up before they left.
Would definitely recommend.

The engineer arrived earlier than I had been told which was good. He was very polite and got on with the installation of a new inverter and two batteries. He completed the work in 3 hours and then sat down with my wife and set up the technical stuff on my wife's mobile phone. It is easy to understand the information and it showed that we were immediately exporting energy back to the National Grid. He put all the waste bits of cable etc in one of the boxes and I told him that I would take the boxes to be recycled, although he said he would have done that if I'd wanted him to.

After doing our homework Eco Bright offered a competitive price and provided the information for us to make the right choices. Very happy with the outcome.
