This company is impossible to contact. They do not answer the telephone, WhatsApp, website form submission or emails. We paid around £2000 for a report and had to threaten legal action before they released it to us. Further clarification was required which they agreed to do and despite several attempts over months we have been unable to make contact with them since. If they see this review, hopefully they will contact me.

On behalf of my clients, I would be grateful if you could respond to my previous emails. If, for any reason, you are unable to provide the report that has been paid for, we would be happy to accept a refund. I would appreciate your prompt response so we can resolve this matter accordingly.

We have paid for a report which we have not received, all communications have stopped since March, we have tried multiple methods to contact the company. We have a deadline to meet and not receiving the report is holding us back.

The team were booked to do a bat survey on my barn as per my planning conditions.

Very good and efficient customer service. We had urgently requested a biodiversity report. Matthew surveyed the property with just one day's notice. The team promptly provided us with the comprehensive biodiversity report the following day, well in advance of our deadline.

Absolutely awful, quick to take the clients money but when it comes to the work, emails and calls are ignored. Apparently my last communication was from them was saying they had a fire in the office. After that still nothing.
Now advising client to take legal action any more information and phone numbers regarding ecology surveyor (name easily found on linked in) and ecology Essex would be much appreciated.

Hopefully people will see these reviews before paying any money.

UPDATE! Money has now finally been refunded.

Shocking service.. Communication consistently poor/non existent at all times, phone number never answered and emails sporadically by a virtual PA. Managed to dig out a mobile number for Matthew, he answered a whatsapp then blocked me. Paid for a raft of reports and surveys (that were never sent, funnily enough communication never dipped when chasing payment) and when asked to be resent was met with a wall of silence then an email suggesting "have sent these across via wetransfer a few times now but they haven't been opened, so I guess they are not reaching you." Our IT department have confirmed there were no emails stuck or in quarantine so this seems to be a wholly dishonest reply. By the looks of other reviews this is unfortunately a common trend. AVOID.

we paid for them upfront over £1000 and our report was carried out October/November and was informed it would take around 10 working days, its now mid January and we have had zero response. We have sent over 30 emails and calls and not had a single reply. I have a feeling its a fraudulent company, our planning is being held up due to them. Am taking legal action.

We engaged Ecology Essex to prepare ecology and Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) reports for our site. Initially, communication was satisfactory, and we paid their fees upfront as requested. They completed the survey and sent the report by October 25th. However, on December 2nd, the planning officer raised some queries about the report. Since then, I have been trying to contact Ecology Essex, but no one has been answering my calls or responding to my emails. This experience has been extremely disappointing, and it seems they do not care about after-sales service.

It has now been more than a week without any response. Our numerous attempts to contact the company have been ignored—emails remain unanswered, and phone calls are not returned. We have been dealing with an office manager, and surveyor but neither of them has been reachable. This delay on their part is causing my planning permission to be held up, which is significantly disrupting our project timeline.

Very well organised consultancy who were able to take on a project and deliver it in a timely manner during their busiest time of the year. Recommend.

I contacted them in early August needing 2 surveys to be completed by the end of September. They turned up as agreed and produced a report very promptly. Exactly what we needed by polite, professional people. Thank you

We have recently used Ecology Essex for two Net Gain Biodiversity studies and we have found them to be very quick to carry out the survey and to follow up with the report which is always of a good standard. Would recommend.

I cannot recommend this company enough, Hayleigh, Lewis and Matthew helped me with information when I was misled by others and took the time to explain everything to me in plain English, they would reply to queries and carried out the reports in a prompt and timely manner, they really cannot be beaten on both customer service and knowledge
