They are thieves. Plain and simple. Have charged me for the same amount of council tax on the same year several times. They cover up their mistakes, and extort their citizens, the city is a state, and they don't clean up the rampant amounts of trash in my area or fix anything. If you don't like what's happening then too bad. They will take up to 8 months to respond to you and then just lead you round in circles. I have been sent letters threatening to freeze my bank account over council tax from years ago which they told me was cleared. Led round in constant circles. When it was shown they had 2 separate accounts on me they quickly deleted the one that was cleared up and recharged me my entire council tax for 2 years. Whole paper trail erased. Born and raised in Edinburgh but they have stabbed me in the back. I hate the council more than any other part of the UK government. They are the most useless, malignant, cancer in this country.

I live at the top of lasswade rd can you please tell me why there is a bus shelter at the stop going into Edinburgh but not on the other side going to Bonnyrigg
It is open wide with no shelter I would be most grateful if you could erect one

I’m a student in Edinburgh, and I am quite dissapointed. We have been given iPads, and I have to say that I’m very upset with the council. We’re the only council that gets iPads, and all the other ones get Chromebooks.

The thing is, we have a management profile called MDM, and it restricts so much… we don’t even have access to the app store, and a lot of websites sre restricted to..

As a visitor I have limited interaction with city management ... but I can see litter everywhere, weeds in paths and roads, and crumbling roads and paths.

Edinburgh council's processes when dealing with bus lane fines are, in my opinion, designed to heavily discourage complaints and are draconian.

I recently received a fine for driving through a bus lane on The Shore in Leith. I have driven down that road a hundred times during the trams works in recent years. However when doing so recently I was issued with a fine. Everyone be warned that there is now a bus lane in operation there. There was no signage to indicate that the priorities on that road had changed. Additionally the on road signage indicating it is a bus lane is almost impossible to see when you are stopped, and even harder to see if you are moving.

I was going to complain about the fine but they heavily discourage this by two methods.

1. If you complain the fine effectively doubles. This is a disgusting cynical method of preventing complaints and massively disadvantages poorer people.

2. They cite 12 reasons for grounds for complaint, but inadequate signage is not one of them. In other words they can throw up a bus wherever they want, not adequately warn people about it, and go on to fine people for it. I am flabbergasted that this can be ok.

I will not be spending my hard earned cash in Edinburgh in future.

Every dealing or contact I have with Edinburgh Council results in conflict. Every time I make a report to them or ask for something to be actioned nothing happens. Telephone calls require half a day wait for an answer. I refer in particular to recycling issues and road issues which seem to be impossible for the council to act upon. They are a disgrace to the city of Edinburgh.

Who ever is in charge of the transport in Edinburgh city is totally incompetent the city is a disgrace lez Zones started on the 1st of June but they have major roads around the city closed or on temp traffic lights causing major congestion . The road outside one of the major hospitals the western general has been closed for weeks and plus the road adjacent to it which has a major school and a main route to the city was allowed to start road work with 3 way traffic lights at the same time not to mention the bypass closed for hours 2 weeks ago .the council would rather waste people's money on planters outside school roads which cars just drive around or on bollards for cycle lanes which half of them are missing who are these people in the council they need to get off their back side an out of the office and see what's happening around the city . Clowns

Edinburgh Council contractors are costing the tax payer a fortune and the worse thing about it is you'd do a better job fixing the problem yourself and feel proud about it, I recently had to wait weeks to get a drainage pipe fixed, was told it would be a big job and everything would need replaced but oh no not Edinburgh Council contractors as they were at my home today and all they did is used a jetter and duck tape and most likely told Edinburgh Council they were there all day but they were there for only about 10 mins top, the foreigners get better taken care of than we do it's a disgrace and it's about time we took every thing we hate about Edinburgh Council to the Scottish Parliament bit that will most likely be a waste of time too.

If u want to see a council waste money on projects that are not needed look no further. Roads crumbling but they bash on stealing cash from us and spend it on bike lanes wide pavements ulez.
Trams fiasco, incompetence.
Bins overflowing. Pavements a mess.
If I was so incompetent at my work I would expect to be fired.

Terrible - Spend all te available pot to extend trams over and over again when the roads are in a state of disrepair, Roadworks everywhere that never move, and attempts at closing charity ran Edinburgh leisure due to budget constraints. Would be more believable if you didn't spend billions on trams no one uses.

What a horrible city Edinburgh is turning into clearly overcrowded the roads are shocking and in need of major repairs but not all at the same time like the clowns are doing just now streets closed off to traffic temp lights on every corner and junction not be visiting again not value for money.

Edinburgh Council are a disgrace. The streets are filthy, bins are overflowing. Potholes everywhere. Its the middle of January and we are still waiting for grit bins to be filled. I am ashamed of the state of the city.

First time at the procession and so excited!
Then what a let down at the start.
Stood for 2 hours in a queue in the Meadows. The entertainment was poor- couldn’t see a band, only hear it.
DJ - left a lot to be desired.
Couldn’t see any Vikings!
Heard the pipe band.
No access to food or toilet facilities once you were in the queue. A missed opportunity there as we would have welcomed a hot drink.
The fire entertainers- in middle of Meadows- felt sorry for them! Took forever to start, no introductions, so no one really noticed them.
And the 30/2024 fire sign.
Didn’t get that either at first!!
And a few small screens at the top promoting the event and Scotland. Just poor.
The security staff were helpful and friendly.
We understand the need for regulations, health and safety with fire, but herding us all into a 2 hour queue in the cold with rubbish entertainment was really poor and left us just wanting to go home before it started.
The procession itself was enjoyable and magical to take part in.

We were standing next to visitors from Japan and they were so fed up and annoyed as they thought it all started at 6.

Sort yourselves out for next year!! Feed and entertain us properly please!

State of the streets so called mangers on thousands a year doing nothing muirhouse strets are disgusting never see any council workers sweep or litter picking dumped heavy good all over I see the manger for street cleansing up for an assult

Where do you begin with these clowns??? Out of all nine cities I’ve lived in around the world I have NEVER come across a council like this. The level of ineptitude is in a league of their own. For the extortionate council tax you pay, what do you get in return??? Absolutely nothing. This gang of bureaucrats are absolute scum and answer to no one

I would give a minus score if possible. This is the street enforcement team at Edinburgh council. As far as I can tell they sit in their office and eat donuts all day. I have an abandoned car outside my house and reported it. It has no tax according to the government site . I reported this too. I ask for an update and get the equivalent of I dinnae know mate..... Councils are strapped for cash. Get rid of this part of the council

Edinburgh Council online payment services for council tax are worse than bad. Link to 'payment by debit card' doesn't work, link to 'online account' (view bill, change to paperless billing etc) hangs then times out.
Please Edinburgh City Council put effort into improving these online services. In this day and age this is not a big ask.

Popped down to Stockbridge for a wander and a bite to eat ! Big mistake ! Its a scruffy dump , pavements strewn with litter and dog poo , weeds , broken pavements , etc . Grossly overpriced cafes ! I could go on ! Wont be back .

From the statement of roads and pavements, to the overabundance of construction. Useless trams that ruined many businesses to trash left on the streets. The overtaxing of people and hatred of car users. The lack of regulation on Airbnb's and the approval of turning the city into a campus for students and no one else.

Also, thanks for blocking one of the many roads I used to use near my place and putting in two ugly rusty old tram wheels as one last F you for all the disruption these 10+ years. Screw Edinburgh Council
