Ordered a denim jumpsuit, what arrived was Nothing like the photograph, not denim just cheap material, it looks like something cheap you would get on Temu, except they charge you a lot.
They pretend to be based in England but the goods come from China and take quite a while. Although the return address on the package says London, they have said i must return it to China?? I dispute this as they mislead me into thinking they were a UK company.
They offered me a 20% refund and could keep the item. As the item is clearly cheap they would still be getting more than its worth. I feel this is a ploy to charge a lot of money for cheap clothing.
Total scam company, best to avoid.

Having ordered2 shirts - £66, received them, they were of such poor quality they were unwearable. Went through a ludicrous back and forth with the company who were trying to barter me down to a refund of 10%. Finally got a return address for them in China - paid for return (Couldn't let this one go) and now I am being stalled every day. This company is a sham, please don' get burned.
They also trade under Teddy & Mae, Mae & Edie, Clareandkatelondon, Whitakerlondon, linacky.com and many, many more.

Dreadful polyester fabric dress, went straight into the bin.

If I could give it no stars I would. Very slow delivery - shoes took more than 4 weeks to arrive. When they did arrive, my heart sank as the shoes were just thrown in to a bag, not a box. The quality of the shoes is unbelievably poor. The colours are completely wrong compared to the website, and don't get me started on the stitching and puckering. Truly awful workmanship - wonky white thread on dark green (not) suede. I have complained, with photos and their ludicrous response is 'after checking your photos we can confirm that the shoe is the same' and they blame different lighting in my house to the lighting in their studio! They only offer a 50% voucher to buy more garbage from them - no refund offered, despite the fact that I have requested a full refund, and will never wear these ridiculous shoes anywhere, ever. Hopeless company - thieves actually. Shame on you EDITH & MAE who are most certainly not in York, England...

The website looked very professional and the goods being sold looked good quality. I ordered some shoes from them in their biggest size as I know some sizing is a bit off. On arriving they are cheap plastic shoes that are even smaller than expected. I emailed them straight away and asked for return and refund details.After a few emails back and forth the long and short of it is I received an email telling me they are very sad to inform me that they are closing the company down. So annoying. You can’t trust anything you see anymore. 😡

I would strongly advise against purchasing from Edith & Mae.

I ordered two pairs of shoes during their “50% off” sale, paying around £45 per pair. Unfortunately, the quality was extremely disappointing. The shoes looked nothing like the images online and were made entirely of cheap, plastic-like materials, certainly not what you would expect at that price point.

Delivery also took over a month, and at no point during the purchase process was it clearly communicated that the items were being shipped from China.

The biggest issue, however, was the returns process. The website advertises “easy returns within 30 days”, but this is very misleading. In reality:

You must contact them within 14 days (not 30)
Returns must be shipped to China
All shipping and customs costs are paid by the customer

This makes returning an item extremely expensive and impractical, especially for shoes, where sizing often requires trying different options.

Overall, this felt very misleading in terms of both product quality and return policy transparency. I wish I had checked reviews beforehand, and I would not recommend this company.

Terrible. A scam. A very long wait for delivery, and the polyester fabric is truly disgusting. FAQs suggest you can visit the returns page, but there isn’t one. Shirts are going in the bin. Furious that I fell for this.

I ordered 3 blouses for £84 before reading these reviews.
On reading the reviews I went back and scrutinised the website. It does indeed look as if these are 2 ladies purporting to work from York but alarm bells rang as what has been said on Trust Pilot appears to true. I doubt very much if this is a UK based company with a straightforward returns policy. For that reason I emailed Edith & Mae and asked to cancel my order and refund me. Which they did do promptly. My advice is, if you are 2 ladies working from York, to revise your website with UK telephone number and return details. Also it is quite suspicious that your stock is exactly the same as many China based companies operating on Facebook suggesting these were not designed and produced on your kitchen table.

It’s a complete con, looks like it’s a reputable company in York but it’s cheap products from China. Linen shirts are cheap polyester, badly made, and definitely not worth the £35 I paid for it. Still “negotiating” with them, been offered 30% refund or I can return it to China and get a refund in 5 weeks, which we know I’m not going to get. Avoid like the plague!

Masquerading as a York based clothing company. Blouses are represented (and photographed) as linen. What you receive is a polyester monstrosity that is badly sewn a worth £3.50 not the £35 you are charged. Scamming of the highest order. AVOID disappointment by avoiding this company.

They took almost a month to come, when they arrived there were awful quality and polyester. They wouldn’t do a full refund only if I returned them at my expense to China with complicated instructions. I had to take a 30% refund in the end. Don’t buy from this company

Good experience overall. Not perfect, but I would order again.

I feel more confident wearing this than most things I buy online. It just sits better on my body than I expected. Small thing, but it makes a difference.

Customer service was polite and helpful when I reached out. Took a little while to respond, but they did sort my question.

Material is quite light, which is nice for spring. Just not what I expected initially.

The item is nice and easy to wear. Just slightly thinner than I expected, but not a deal breaker.

I thought it was a genuine UK business with it having a .co.uk email. Turns out it’s very poor quality from China, I’ve been emailing back and forth with regards to a refund and been told I have to return to China!
They were sent from a UK distributor so therefore should be able to return them there but it’s just all a scam.
Going to go through my credit card company to see what can be done but do not order from this company and if you look closely enough, they seem to be under many other names too. Rob dogs

Like others I fell for the two women running a UK business but it’s a scam company shipping from China. Takes ages to arrive then quality is so poor, nothing like the picture. What a waste of time and money. Having paid for something I won’t wear, it will cost me more to return it because you have to pay to return to China.

I wasn’t expecting much, if I’m honest, but this turned out to be a really nice surprise. The fit is flattering without trying too hard, and it feels good quality for the price. I’ve worn it a few times already and it holds up well. Would definitely consider ordering again.
