If I could give this service zero stars I would do so. We never found a caregiver through the service despite sending out many many messages - often "candidates" were non-responsive or ghosted. Worse, the company continued to charge us for MONTHS after we attempted to cancel our account - customer service was unhelpful and we ended up having to cancel our credit card so that they would stop charging us (and even then, they haven't been able to cancel our account, so who knows if they'll try to continue to charge us). I highly recommend against using this service - avoid at all costs. Forums on Facebook etc. were far more useful (and free!).

I applied to jobs on their website. I get emails from eldercare.com telling me about these people wanting help. A gentleman sent me a email from Careguide asking me to call in response to me applying to him. I have tried calling Eldercare. They refuse to answer or get back to me. The next day they send me other names and if I want to reach this gentleman they want me to update to premium which is pay money and then I will get through I imagine. There is yee number to call. They are collecting money to get Premium but why would we just throw money to the wind when these people don't allow us to call the client wanting help. This is a blatant scam. ElderCare asks for money while CareGuide wants the help but we are being blocked by ElderCare to pay first.

So far, I have responded to three people who posted requests for PSW services on your website, and unfortunately, all three turned out to be scammers. This is concerning, as repeated incidents like this may gradually damage the credibility of your website and cause users to lose trust in the platform. I believe stronger screening and verification measures are needed to prevent this from happening.

If I could give it zero stars I would. I canceled the subscription and still got charged to renew. They wouldn't give me my money back. I would never have renewed this being the whole time.I was a member, I got nothing but shady requests from what did not seem like legitimate potential customers. Fake scam this company is, absolutely terrible

Scam Alert on Eldercare.com

I want to warn everyone about a recent scam attempt that happened to me last night.
I received a message from someone named Harold on Eldercare.com. He said he didn’t have access to the premium version and asked me to contact him via text.
Since I’m actively looking for a job, I texted him, and we exchanged a few basic details about my experience. After some discussion about the hourly rate, he confirmed to pay $22 per hour.
However, I noticed several inconsistencies:
On the Eldercare.com website, his location was listed as Newmarket,
but in his messages, he shared a Bayview address, which didn’t match the original posting.
Later, he said he wanted to pay in advance and asked to send me a bank draft to deposit through my mobile banking app. That was a major red flag.
I realized it was a fraudulent offer, so I didn’t share any banking information. I blocked and reported him immediately.
Please be cautious and never accept payments or bank drafts before meeting the employer in person or confirming the legitimacy of the job.

Do not use this site. The scammers use this site to try and steal your money and your identity. It happened twice to me but I caught it immediately.

For the women using this for pet/house/elder care sitting be very, very careful with your safety.

Do not meet anyone alone ever. It will be unsafe and you could run into evil.

A man or woman claiming to be Adriana Wells said they needed a caregiver for their grandmother connie. Then they proceeded to see how their email money transfer was broken, and they wanted me to deposit this weird looking.Check into my account which i'm way too smart for that. I brought the check to my bank and they said it was a weird check.And they said, do not deposit that into your account.It's a scam. You can't even look for an honest to god, honest pay today. People try to scam caregivers now! I have never gotten a prospective caregiver job from the site, it's all scams. It's all bogus, all they do is dangle you around like a carrot in front of your face as if you were a rabbit, but you never get anywhere. I did pay for a months subscription to email somebody( an employer) and as soon as I emailed them, they didn't respond back to me. I'm never gonna use the site again. I keep getting sucked into it. Somehow, because I keep getting messages from bogus perspective employers who turn out to be scammers.
The site doesn't do anything to protect caregivers. They don't even vet or what verify the people who were on there looking for caregivers to keep caregivers safe. Do not waste your time with this site. The whole thing is a scam. I actually think the whole entire website is actually a scam, and I think the people that they put on there are fake to make you think that it's an actual caregiver site, I think the scam is is that they get you to pay the thirteen dollars a month when you'll never get a job. If I could give lower than one star, I would, I would give minus five stars

My experience has been similar to the other ones here. I asked them to cancel my account in the beginning because it’s impossible to figure out how to cancel it on the website. They didn’t and they continue to charge me every month and they won’t cancel it for me. When I remember because I noticed that they charged me again. I tell them again that I can’t figure out how to cancel it and they say I need to do it and they send me a list of steps and those steps are not findable! This is another company who is making money from being tricky and not letting people cancel instead of by providing a good service that people want to pay for because it works. I think you should beware before joining. I still haven’t been able to cancel my account and they’ve charged me for three more months because they won’t cancel it for me and I can’t locate any of the steps they’re telling me to use to cancel it.

This company steals money out of my account every month how do I stop this I didn't even know I subscribed for anything how they get away with this I do not know can anyone help

I created an account a while ago. I believe it was called housesitter.com. That seemed to morph into Careguide. I was looking for house sitting positions. I did not pay for a subscription since I could access some features by just setting up an account. I never felt the service was worth paying for. In fact, some of the job offers seemed bogus and I never received a response from any prospective client. I did find trustedhousesitters.com and have been very pleased with their service. Yesterday I mistook an email from housesitter.com as a communication from trustedhousesittter.com and made a subscription payment. As soon as I did I realized my mistake. When I clicked the link In the email (something you should never do) I was taken to Careguide. I immediately tried to resolve the payment mistake on their website and was unable to do so. The directions under FAQ did not align with the web page. I was unable to find a contact phone number but I was able to send an email. Today I was told they would not refund my mistaken payment. This reinforces my impression that the service is less than quality and perhaps their business practices are fraudulent. I find it interesting that the email from housesitter.com was directly under the trustedhousesitter email that I received. This is what lead me to let my guard down. I thought I was responding to the service I have been using and paying for. I would not trust this company.

Canceled membership on renewal date and they still charged my credit card and refused to give me a refund. No legitimate ads. Only scammers. Reported over a dozen fake ads and nothing changed. They have no phone number and hide behind emails. Do not waste your money or time.
