Eldercare Solutions were recommended to me soon after my mother, at very short notice, went into temporary respite care following a series of bad falls. It was a sudden & traumatic experience for the family as it quickly became clear that she could no longer live independently, so respite immediately became residential care. The financial implications of care home fees were very considerable indeed. Eldercare Solutions provided us with a Care Fees Funding Report customised around my mothers age & financial circumstances, with three possible funding strategy options. We felt that a Deferred Care Fees Annuity on the quotation provided was potentially suitable, and Tracy at Eldercare put in much time & effort responding to my myriad questions and requests for a variety of escalation options. In the end, we felt that an annuity was not going to be in our best interests given my mother's age and circumstances, but arriving at that most difficult decision was very much informed by Eldercare's expertise. I was not put under any pressure to accept the annuity offer; to the contrary, Tracy emphasised throughout that if I didn't feel my mind to be at rest with the financial solution offered, it wouldn't be doing what its most intended to do: to bring peace of mind to the annuitant and the family. Michael Hastings became my advisor when I first approached Eldercare Solutions with the view to exploring a Care Annuity Plan for my aunt. Good service, sound advice and not pushy. Got 4 quotes for annuity for mother in law, decided not to proceed- no problem.

The service we received from Eldercare was exemplary. We were originally quoted and proceeded with an annuity only to cancel it at the last minute due to a sudden deterioration in the beneficiaries health. This was done with no quibbling or cost. A year later we proceeded again with a care home annuity purchase, to completion this time and again the service has been excellent.

Everyone was very helpful and the process was trouble free. There was no pressure. Eldercare essentially provide advice about annuities to cover care costs. They are up front about this. I did find that there are other ways for funding my mother's care that could have been effective, but in the end opted for this, as it gives less concern for possible financial issues in the future. I also found that other providers can be a little cheaper, but I think we had good value for money. So as long a you know what you want, they were very good and also gave me good contacts for organising the sale of my mum's home and organising attendance allowance.
