⭐ Extremely disappointing quality and customer service
I have purchased from ELIYA THE LABEL numerous times over the years, including pieces for my own wedding, so I am genuinely shocked and disappointed by how this issue has been handled.
I purchased the Lucia Cape for approximately £190 specifically to be worn with the ELIYA THE LABEL Marlon Skirt — the same combination the brand themselves style and promote together.
After a maximum of around six hours of normal wear, the mesh cape was badly pulled and damaged from catching against the embellishment/beading on the Marlon Skirt. In my opinion, a £190 cape should withstand more than one wear when worn normally, particularly when paired with another garment from the same brand that it is shown styled with.
I contacted ELIYA THE LABEL immediately and was completely transparent from the outset that the cape had been worn. Despite providing photographs, explaining exactly what had happened and asking them to reconsider, they refused a refund or even store credit, on the basis that the garment had been worn.
Of course it had been worn — the issue only became apparent through actually wearing the two pieces together.
What made the experience even more frustrating was that the outfit had been worn by our brand ambassador, Jane McDermott, and ELIYA THE LABEL subsequently reshared content of Jane wearing the outfit on their own Instagram, while declining to offer any resolution regarding the damage to the cape.
I wasn’t looking for anything unreasonable. As a longstanding customer, I even offered to accept store credit rather than a refund.
For a cape costing around £190 to be effectively unwearable after one evening, followed by this level of customer service, is incredibly disappointing.
Unfortunately, based on my experience, I could not recommend purchasing the Lucia Cape, particularly if you intend to wear it with the Marlon Skirt as styled by the brand.
