The whole trip felt like someone had actually imagined what a real human wants from a vacation. Not just what photographs well. They booked the Great Wall for a quiet Tuesday morning. They knew which tea house had the view without the crowds. They remembered we mentioned liking spicy food and found us a Sichuan place that wasn't dumbed down for foreigners. Three weeks and not one bad meal or wasted afternoon. That cannot be an accident.

Had a specific list of what I wanted…
Had a specific list of what I wanted and a number I needed to stay under. They came back with a plan that hit everything and was actually below my budget. Then throughout the trip the guide kept finding little ways to save us more. Which street stall did better noodles for half the price of the tourist strip. Which tea market was worth visiting. Like traveling with someone who genuinely wanted us to have the best time rather than extract the maximum commission.
