My wife and I chose Expedition Egypt to plan our 10th anniversary trip to Egypt, and it was truly one of the best travel decisions we’ve ever made. From start to finish, the entire experience was nothing short of exceptional.

Every detail was thoughtfully planned, and the entire journey felt seamless and personalized.

Throughout the trip, every single person we interacted with - our guides, Egyptologists, escorts, and drivers - was outstanding. I want to give special thanks to Mayer, our fun and energetic guide in Cairo, and George, our wonderful and caring guide in Aswan/Luxor, for sharing their passion and love of Egypt with us. Their knowledge, professionalism, and genuine hospitality made a huge difference. They went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable, informed, and taken care of at every step.

We came home with incredible memories and a deep appreciation for Egypt, and we’re already looking forward to returning. My favorite highlights:
- Seeing the Great Pyramids of Giza on camelback!
- Visiting multiple artisan markets and shops to see true authentic craftsmanship. We left with incredible souvenirs like an Egyptian cotton rug, essential oils and perfumes, papyrus and art
- A scenic boat ride to the Philae temple - the “birthplace of the Nile”. What a beautiful place on earth
- Eating some of the best local cuisine in each destination. My personal favorite was the shawarma in Cairo!
- visiting the Valley of the Kings and witnessing the grandeur of many Kings’ final resting places (King Tut was amazing to see)
- The beauty and mystery of Saqqara - seeing amazing Hieroglyphics that are thousands of years old
- seeing the incredible scale and craftsmanship of the Karnak Temple - the columns are epic!
- Genuine hospitality from our wonderful guides and Egyptologists!

An Unforgettable Family Adventure in Egypt with Expedition Egypt

Our family of six—myself and my five kids—recently completed a 14-day tour with Expedition Egypt, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The itinerary was perfectly balanced, offering a rich mix of culture, history, relaxation, and adventure.

Nile Cruise (7 Days):

Spending a full week on the Nile Cruise was a highlight for all of us. The boat was spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped for families. Each day brought new wonders—visiting majestic temples, ancient tombs, and experiencing the vibrant life along the river. The guides were knowledgeable, engaging, and made history come alive for both adults and kids. Our children loved the daily excursions and even had activities designed just for them.

Cairo (3 Days):

The three days in Cairo were action-packed but never overwhelming. Exploring the Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx, and the Egyptian Museum was awe-inspiring. Our guide was fantastic at keeping the kids interested, sharing fascinating stories about pharaohs and ancient Egyptian life. The shopping and local food experiences were also a big hit with the family.

Hurghada (3 Days):

After the cultural immersion, Hurghada offered the perfect chance to relax. The beaches were stunning, and snorkeling in the Red Sea was a magical experience for the kids—they couldn’t stop talking about the colorful fish! The hotel was family-friendly, with plenty of activities for all ages, giving us a great balance of rest and fun.

Alexandria (1 Day):

Our one-day stop in Alexandria was short but memorable. Visiting the historic library and the Citadel of Qaitbay gave a glimpse of Egypt’s coastal charm and rich history. Though brief, it was a perfect ending to our journey.

Overall Experience:

Expedition Egypt exceeded our expectations in every way. The organization was seamless, the accommodations were excellent, and the guides were exceptional—always attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. Traveling with five kids can be challenging, but the tour was structured in a way that kept everyone engaged and happy.

We returned home with memories that will last a lifetime, and I would highly recommend Expedition Egypt for any family looking to explore Egypt in a safe, enjoyable, and deeply enriching way.

We just returned from a 5-day group trip to Egypt with Expedition Egypt, and it exceeded all expectations. Even with a shorter itinerary, everything was perfectly organized and efficient. From the moment I arrived at Cairo International Airport, the service was excellent. The driver was waiting with a clear sign, helped with my luggage, and was very friendly. The car was clean, air-conditioned, and comfortable — exactly what I needed after a long flight. I recently traveled to Egypt with my family of six on a 12-day tour organized by Expedition Egypt, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish!

Our journey began in Cairo, where we spent three incredible days exploring the Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx, and the breathtaking Saqqara. We also visited the Grand Egyptian Museum, the Cairo Museum, and the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, each offering a deep dive into Egypt’s rich history. Exploring the Coptic and Catholic churches in Old Cairo was a moving experience, giving us a glimpse into the country’s spiritual heritage.

From Cairo, we flew to Luxor and embarked on a seven-night Nile cruise between Luxor and Aswan. This was the highlight of our trip! The cruise was an unforgettable way to see Egypt, offering stunning scenery, excellent service, and visits to some of the most remarkable sites, including Karnak Temple, the Valley of the Kings, Edfu, and Philae Temple.

After our time on the Nile, we headed to Hurghada for three days of relaxation by the Red Sea. The beaches were stunning, the water was crystal clear, and we enjoyed incredible diving and snorkeling experiences. It was the perfect way to unwind after our adventure-packed days.

Finally, we returned to Cairo for one last day to soak in the city’s vibrant atmosphere before heading home.

My family and I had the most unforgettable 11-day vacation in Egypt this past March 2024. From start to finish, Expedition Egypt made sure everything was perfect. Our journey began in Cairo, where we marveled at the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. One of the highlights was the nighttime visit to the Cairo Car Museum, which was both fascinating and fun.

Next, we headed to Hurghada for some incredible scuba diving. The underwater life was vibrant and teeming with color; it felt like swimming in a dream. Our adventure continued with a four-day cruise from Luxor to Aswan. We explored historic monuments, including Luxor Temple, the Valley of the Kings and Queens, and various other highlights along the Nile. Every moment was steeped in history and awe-inspiring beauty.

One particularly memorable stop was at Philae Temple and Aswan's Elephantine Island—truly iconic locations that showcased the splendor of ancient Egypt.

The service throughout our trip was exceptional. Our tour guide, George, was knowledgeable and personable, and our driver ensured our travels were smooth and safe. The cruise ship crew was attentive and made our stay comfortable.
