After being in pain on and off for 10+years in desperation I booked this service hopeful it would help. I attended the Dewsbury site and was warmly greeted despite being an hour early, my chaperone Amanda was so lovely and friendly.

I had a consultation with Dr Macklin who was incredibly personable, informative and honest. After being treated by my GP for piles, Dr Macklin advised what I actually have are sentinel piles and an anal fissure.

Thank god I went to see Dr Macklin because he advised me on what steps I need to take to sort my problem out.

I had two grade 3 and one grade 2 piles which were treated in Canterbury earlier this year. I had a follow up session a month ago to treat 2 residual grade 2 piles. The follow up session now seems to have completely resolved the problem and I have no remaining discomfort.
The staff were friendly and created a relaxed atmosphere and the procedure only caused minimal discomfort.

Waste of time and money! Had treatment in Dublin and it did nothing. Have since seen a Consultant who is going to use banding. Save your money and get proper treatment.

Seriously. Take your money, and go private for banding. If you have serious hemorrhoid issues then eXroid will not fix you. This is for mild symptoms at best. I had the treatment around 4 months ago (so ive given the treatment more than enough time) and it made little to no difference. Im so angry I paid €1200 for this. Such a lot of money for nothing. Banding definitely works though and it cost less at around €400 if you go private. And ts works. I will say im disappointed with the eXroid people as I had asked for a partial refund to help me fund the banding and they bluntly said "NO". Then tried to get me to have a second treatment. Not a chance. Oh and btw, it was sore... I was surprised how painful it was actually. Conclusion: Banding is better and less painful. I think eXroid is a bit of a scam if im honest... It might help very mild symptoms, but not serious hemorrhoids. Plus its way too expensive. All they do is plug a little machine into the wall, pair of disposable gloves, a bit of lubricant and a plastic scope, with the treatment lasting around 20 mins. How is that €1200? I feel ripped off.

Everything was excellent from start to finish. The lady who I spoke with to get me booked in was so friendly and helpful and handled everything so quickly and efficiently. The surgeon and my nurse chaperone were both very friendly and respectful and maintained my dignity throughout the procedure - they were very thorough and explained everything to me. I did experience some mild discomfort during the procedure, more of a pressure as opposed to pain, but it was so worth it - it in no way compared to other alternative treatments and the list of complications and symptoms after invasive surgeries. I felt an immediate improvement, no side effects and could carry on my day as normal post-procedure.

Until I had my treatment, I had no idea how much the discomfort from piles was causing me day-to-day. I am like a new person and i'm so happy I took the plunge and just went for it after debating for months! Worth EVERY penny!

A note of caution for anyone contemplating using Exroid for their treatment of haemorrhoids.
First treatments are only 50% successful so you may well face two or three additional procedures to rectify your condition.
I myself had two treatments costing nearly £2k and have experienced no benefits whatsoever, and still suffer from prolapsed piles which cause me the same issues as before I embarked on this course of action. The proceeder was very painful the first time and not slightly uncomfortable as advertised.
In fairness, I was told the piles were class three, which have a large base and the staff at the hospital were very informative, professional and pleasant.
In hindsight, I should have fully researched all methods of treatment that would have given me a one stop, inclusive price, rather than not knowing how many times I would have to go and at what cost it would end up being.

Excellent service and 100% satisfied with the results after a single treatment.

I would highly recommend exroid. All the horrible symptoms of itching, the inside movement feeling and then the mind games it does and which cream, ointment should one use, could a suppository help?….all that’s stops here. It’s a quick, highly effective treatment done in minutes.

Yes the proctoscope is uncomfortable but it’s so worth it! It was found I had 2 type 1 haemorrhoids and 1 type 2, both type 1 disappeared and a second treatment which was such a short appointment, finally eliminated the type 2 which had already shrunk to a type 1 from the first appointment.

It’s life changing and so effective and if I had a flare up ever again, I wouldn’t waste my time with ointments etc, I’ll just get exroid done again.

Had a few exroid treatments now and very pleased with the results, as there has been a significant improvement in my symptoms. Every time I have had treatments, the staff have been very kind and helpful. Therefore it is definitely worth giving this a try before having to go down more severe surgery routes, as I have heard they can be very painful. A massive plus side to electrotherapy is that you can return to your day-to-day activities almost immediately. So yes, overall very happy with my results and although it took more treatments than usual, I have no regrets about using exroid. So I would just like to say a massive thank you to everyone at exroid and I cannot believe the NHS are not offering this treatment!

I had treatment in Edgbaston with Dr Peravali for two Grade 3 haemorrhoids which bled heavily on a regular basis. Treatment was slightly uncomfortable, but bearable; Dr Peravali made the experience unstressful thanks to his friendly and professional manner. After treatment, the pain subsided within 30 minutes and I was back to normal activities straightaway. I needed one further treatment to reduce one of the haemorrhoids further, and have had no problems since then. Two months later, and my symptoms have cleared up fully. Fingers crossed I won't need any further treatment. Would highly recommend.

I was excited when I came across this facility online but today all my hopes of getting this treatment were shattered. The patient services attendant I spoke to seems not to understand my request. I asked him to issue me with an invoice which I could present to my employers and once they pay for the service, I could then book for my treatment. But he insisted that I needed to book but for the booking to be confirmed I needed to pay. The issue is my employer doesn’t reimburse when they haven’t approved the treatment and the quickest way to get their approval is to attach an invoice to the written request I will send to them. He said I was the first one to make this request as most patients just pay cash. I explained my situation as I am an international student and this financial help was to come from my home country but still he couldn’t understand. Their system is too rigid, it’s like refusing money and also denying someone treatment because of a payment method. My proposal was I make my appointment after eXroid recieved the money in their account and have confirmed but that was trashed. To be honest I feel very disappointed

I was seen by the professional and kind Mr Gianluca Bonanomi. Was diagnosed with 2 grade 3 piles (one was prolapsing and very painful) and one large grade 2. The treatment itself was uncomfortable but bearable. Mr Gianluca was very reassuring, and informative. After my initial treatment, it took a few days for things to settle, and after around 3-4 weeks is when I noticed a significant improvement. At my second treatment, Mr Gianluca confirmed the one prolapsed grade 3 pile had shrunk to a grade 2, and the other 2 piles had shrunk to grade 1. Overall very happy with the results, and would highly recommend Exroid.

The whole procedure was easy and Mr Iqbal was excellent also his assistant / nurse made me feel at ease and relaxed. No further problems after the haemorrhoids had been treated. Highly recommend this treatment for haemorrhoids.

I have suffered for many years and about 8 years ago I found exroid having had an unsuccessful banding procedure. All I can say is exroid has transformed my life. I can now honestly say I am symptom free and golf, ballet and tai chi are now a pleasure rather than constantly worrying I would have a flare up. I have never found the procedures easy and they are usually rather uncomfortable and probably for a couple of days after. But with rest and ibuprofen it’s no problem. Also the outcome is so amazing you can bear anything. The drs who administer the treatment are always kind and reassuring and having a chaperone who can see your face if it’s in pain is nice! What an amazing treatment and thank you for giving me my life back to normal. Also if I ever had a flare up in the future I know after one treatment I should be fine again!

The visit was easily arranged and then rearranged due to a change in my availability. The procedure was clearly explained and undertaken by a capable, experienced clinician, well supported by the chaperone.

The process is not without discomfort but I was advised and supported throughout, so coped ok.

Post procedure I was fine the next day and no longer have any symptoms. It’s been a vast improvement on my lifestyle and health.

First of all, the Dr and chaperone nurse were absolutely excellent and I have nothing but praise for their courtesy and professionalism. I borrowed the £1250 for this treatment because £600 worth of banding in the previous 2 months didn't work for me and I was desperate for some symptom relief . The reason for 3 stars is firstly that the pain guideline offered understates just how uncomfortable the procedure, and the aftermath really is. Because I could only afford one treatment I asked the Dr to give it maximum current throughout to give it every chance of working. He obliged and it was a very uncomfortable 30 minutes but I was determined to get my money's worth so gritted my teeth. I could not go through the procedure again. 6 days on from the procedure I can feel some reduction in the size of the piles overall but the problem and discomfort have is still there. Since the treatment I have felt bruised and tender and have had to take it really easy and could definitely not have left and carried on as normal afterwards. Secondly, it became obvious to me that many people who undertake this treatment will need more than one and bad luck to those who can't afford it. Just be prepared for the reality that this treatment is almost definitely not going to be a one-off affair. When I left the surgery I spoke to a lady in the waiting room who told me this was her NINTH Exroid procedure which would have cost her almost 12k to date. Personally I couldn't go through it again so looks like it's more banding for me and possibly surgery in the future.

I had the treatment in Dublin 3 days ago with Dr. MacNamara. He was perfectly nice and professional in his manner. I have no qualms with him at all. A nice man. But, the treatment itself was extremely painful for me. The scope is quite large and the electrotherapy pulses are definitely sore. To advertise this as not painful or invasive is not a fair description in my opinion. However, my main concern now is that im not feeling better at all. I still feel the same pain of the hemorrhoids. Im also still feeling the pain of the procedure itself. I was really hoping this would work but so far it has not. In fact I feel worse than when I went in, which seems crazy. So, a 2.5hr commute, a lot of pain, and no hemorrhoid pain relief. All for the tidy sum of €1200. Which is a LOT of money to me. Again, the staff are very nice. My GP has referred me to the hospital for banding which I had before(it worked almost immediately, with less pain involved after sedation), so im looking forward to that. I would recommend banding way before electrotheraphy. Banding definitely works. But unless you have the proper surgery the hemorrhoids will keep coming back throughout your life it seems. Surgery has way more complications but apparenty is the only thing that really fixes the problem. Thats was my honest experience of Exroid. I feel let down.

An excellent experience and very supportive. This is a really good alternative to intrusive surgery and the support service from start to finish is superb. I would recommend this to anyone before contemplating surgery.

Discovered eXroid in February first appointment March 7. Dr Peravali said I had a grade 4 hemorrhoid he pushed it back in (😵). Then the treatment which was a tad uncomfortable we spoke after it had reduced by 20%. I noticed an immediate improvement I made a second appointment for the 18 April and have been symptom free since . A normal life again after 12 years. A big thank you to all the team at eXroid
