STAY AWAY!!
Was told at the time of membership of all the services I would be getting.. audit protection being one of them ... Other than them filing my taxes I received NOTHING else. Now 3 years later I have had CRA reach out to me with some questions and as I canceled my account with FBC they will not provide any service on the years I paid for.

In 4 years time, we were confronted with 6 different accountants. On every occasion, we had to find out for ourselves that our person vanished, and therefore, no questions were answered, and no file info was handed over. They improvised a new contact person every time. We also had to pay for the upcoming membership year before filing our taxes, and otherwise, they would not file. We left them last year. And now, a year later, I received a stack of FBC and CRA papers, with a very unprofessional and unsigned note, filled with number errors, and about severe penalties for us, for something they had not filed or completed the year before. I have sent scans and questions to FBC, but guess what, no answer.

If only i could put zero stars. Avoid them as you will be spending money and not get the service they promise at the onboarding meeting. Spent about 10g a year and I'm still doing payroll, taxes and month ends. No follow ups, no and disappointed in the way management dealt with my complaints.

FBC was preparing books and payroll for company in Chilliwack, BC. They submitted incorrect T4's causing former employees complaining on social media about non payment. Also complaint with CRA. FBC did nothing when told about issues except to keep taking money out of client's bank account. CRA audit done, but former employee is still causing problems 10 years later even after all issues fixed. A lawyer is now involved even after all this time and no one has contacted FBC on their failure to do correct bookkeeping and payroll.

I was talking with the branch manager for the Prairies. In the spring, everyone from the Regina office walked out because of a cultural issue at work. Since then, every time I call, I get various excuses. Even a CSR told me that no one would be able to help me since they don’t have a manager or staff available. I asked for a refund in the spring, and I am still waiting. Now, the branch manager says my contract is about to expire and that I’m not eligible for a refund. All of this seems to stem from him being called out for not returning my calls multiple times, and a CR contacting higher management. It’s a real power move.

Everyone, save your time and money. An accountant is there to make running your business easier and to help you make more money with the time it frees up. What I’ve learned about FBC is that they don’t value your time and money. I have logged over 28 hours trying to contact FBC for small issues that should have never happened.

Worst company ever!!!!!!!!!!!!! They never get back to you. They never pick up the phone. They don't respond to emails. Gave them our taxes in Feb. of 2025, still nothing. What a terrible company to deal with. The only reason I received an email in late July, was to ask for money to renew the membership. Stay away from them.

If I could give you a zero, I would. I have been trying to get 2024 financial statements for over 2 months now. I have 3 separate entities with you, my personal, a company and a partnership.
You are still addressing my personal and corporate entity in my husbands name, who has been deceased since 2021. (I have called in several times about this). My partnership has 3 other members in it and you can't get their names right or addresses. You are still addressing correspondence to a previous partner who was never our administrator, and her name changed because of divorce, and you still sent correspondence to old name. Now she no longer is a partner. Our t5013s were wrong and when I notified you that they were wrong you still haven't forwarded us correct ones.
My partners are calling me every day wondering where our 2024 financial statements are...
I am at a loss as to how to even proceed. I call now almost every day and am promised that someone will get back to me and they don't . Today I reached out to Matt Setcliff so we will see if that results in some kind of resolution

Tough year for FBC. Had a fellow come and didn't know one thing about farming. There was things that he wouldn't let us write off and had to go to another company to check that out. Had the electronic filing paper filled in in February and it disappeared. Called four times, one person said it was filled out , next person said it had been sent electronically, Next person left a message saying it hadn't been sent on the very last day. Definitely going to another company.

As a first-year business owner, I was proud to achieve this significant milestone in my career. Recognizing the importance of business taxes for corporate survival, I turned to FBC for their expertise. Unfortunately, my experience with them was disappointing. Initially, I was quoted a fee, but the final charges ended up being four times higher than anticipated. As a result, my first-year taxes became a costly endeavor, and they failed to complete the work they had promised. They submitted my corporate taxes but did not complete my personal tax returns for two prior years, despite assuring me they would do so from the beginning. Overall, my experience with FBC was unprofessional, and I would caution others considering their services.

Upon paying over $10000 to get our taxes done, we are beyond disappointed. The person who came clearly did not want to be here and she didn’t even look at my accounting program to get information. Nothing was done with any of our loans and upon showing our financial statement to other CPA accountants, we were told it was probably one of the worst and poorly done statements they had seen. There were numbers put into the financial statement that were pulled out of thin air as they aren’t even on my books. We paid for succession planning, corporate structure and to get our will done and after more than a year still nothing. I have numerous times requested a refund and all I get is “I will get someone to call you” and crickets. Avoid these crooks at all costs.

Do NOT use this company. Late filing for no reason .
I'm stuck paying late fees to CRA .very poor response to my emails. Weeks later ( now August )everything I email they do not respond. Said they would refund but now they ignore.

I want to thank Gift and Gertrude of FBC, Smiths Falls, ON for their excellent service. Gift efficiently prepared our tax returns and Gertrude helped us out when Canada Post were too tardy in delivering our completed package. Garbage company. They will talk and act perfectly nice. But won’t bed open as to certain fees, way overcharge. Communication once setup is out right lousy.
Had trouble shutting down my account, had to put a stop payment on my card.

I’ve been using FBC out of Edmonton for seven years. They have gotten me better returns both personally and in my business than anyone else. They are quick to respond with sound advice and keep CRA honest. Their staff is so fun and friendly I actually look forward to my appointments to go over my taxes.
