Our Firebird oil combi boiler never worked properly from the day it was installed in September 2018.
A non-exhaustive list of issues we have have had:
Engineer out numerous times to fix leaks (so confident in the fix that he covered the vulnerable parts with tin foil and a rubber glove)
Engineer fixed Leaking capacitor
Engineer replaced blast tube
Numerous lock out incidents (a weekly occurrence)
Engineer replaced diverter valve
Engineer removed flap in the exhaust that should not have been fitted
On one occasion the engineer changed practically every component (control box, burner, pub) - a kind of whack-a-mole way to see why the wretched thing wasn’t working.
Firebird will reply to this saying it was something to do with the installation (it was done by an approved installer) or our water pressure (it isn’t).
Luckily we had a full warranty!
We have since replaced with a Worcester Bosch boiler which doesn’t give us a moments trouble.
You can imagine the fun we had with a sledgehammer when the Firebird boiler came out!
I will admit that Firebird are pretty responsive when you report an issue, but they just weren’t able to sort out the issues once and for all.
AVOID!
If I could give a zero review I would. We bought an Oil-fired condensing Firebird boiler in the US about seven years ago for $9K USD. The thing had a fire on installation, we had to replace the burner on the boiler within a day, and then had a major “puffback” that required $38,000 USD in remediation at year 6. Because they pulled out of the United States and left their customers who purchased their products completely high and dry, with no way to service… Local service people are unable, unqualified and unwilling to maintain the product. Those who used to service Firebird in the US won’t even touch it as the parts are impossible to get and claim working on the unit is not worth their time or risk. Now we have a major oil leak and no heat for the fifth time in seven years. We are done with Firebird. We will never ever endorse this product. Now having to replace with something more reliable. Waste of money, time, sleepless nights. Shame on Firebird.
I moved into my house with a new firebird boiler I'm new to oil so have telephoned in to customer service a few times.
I am super happy with the combination boiler and the support I have received from the factory in Devon its brilliant to know they treat you with respect even though my knowledge is very limited

My boyfriend and I decided we would try and go green so we have a solar heating panel and an air source heat pump fitted last January . We couldn't be happier with it our energy use has been slashed. So thankyou Firebird your system us helping us save for our wedding next year

I live in the Highlands and my plumber was concerned that my property wouldnt benefit from an Air Source Heat Pump. So we thought it wise to fit both I have a small Firebird boiler and a Firebird Air Source, best thing I ever done had it in over a year, and its supplied more heat and hot water than i need at a fraction of the cost of my old oil boiler.
I can definitely recommend Firebird products.

I fitted one of these boilers for my mum in 2018 it's been trouble free and really easy to service each year.
I now fit Firebird on a regular basis.

My Firebird ecomax exterior oil combi boiler was commissioned 1st March 2019, it has been repaired under warranty already, the warranty has been extended to 2025 and since has needed a new diverter valve which although they supplied they didn't offer to fit or reimburse so at the time I thought it was out of warranty. They came out again last week and fitted 3 new parts for a mysterious pressure loss which their engineer could not tell me why it has happened. Oh and the week before it started leaking because a valve suddenly loosened. It has cost me £2500 in lost bookings this year and I am now replacing with something else. Would not recommend.
Excellent boiler I had mine fitted about 9 months ago its a combi and delivers all the hot water my daughters can use

I am not good with this type of thing,
I was asked how I like my new boiler and I thought it was worth trying to write this.
I used to have electric storage heaters and this boiler has changed my life.
I always felt cold and damp in the past I had condensation and mould every winter.
Now I am so happy no more mould I don’t need jackets in the winter and oh my the electricity bills have dropped so dramatically
Even though I have to buy oil I can’t believe how much money I have saved.
Firebird boilers have changed my life thank you so much

I have just had a Firebird heat pump installed with underfloor heating and great looking cylinder in a box. So far I am over the moon with the products i have purchased

I purchased a Firebird oil boiler last year. It was the best price i could find for the style I wanted for my kitchen. it looks great with the digital panel on the front, the boiler is quiet and economical to run.

Hi we purchased our combination boiler in 2019 and I must admit I had a problem with it leaking.
I phoned Firebird and they sent there own engineer who checked the boiler thoroughly. He showed me the results and I had 8 bar water pressure he pointed out that the manual stated much lower water pressure or my warranty was void.
The boiler was repaired and I immediately had the pressure reduced before any other appliances were damaged.
Since then the boiler had been great. The service I received was excellent.

I wish I could rate 10 stars
My installer went sick in winter and left me without heating or hot water.
I called Firebird customer service who put me in touch with Lee, he called all the local engineers for me and within a day I had found a new installer and a better price. Since the boiler has been fitted it's been working lovely, thanks Firebird and especially Lee.

Having installed a new Slimline combi in the kitchen. The ease of fitting and with everything at the front of the boiler for servicing in the future. Highly recommend as well as setting up to commission very simple. Having looked other brands the cost effectiveness my customer was extremely pleased. The other benefit is the 10yr warranty.
