I recently travelled in Asiana. I had a pretty bad experience - 1. My luggage was missed in transit and finally it arrived almost half way into my trip. No proper compensation either.
2. They are not at all vegetarian friendly, There is no online option to select your meal.. they give you some number to call and pre order but noone really responds.
The customer service was pretty rude.
Great service on flight
Online check-in was easy. However, when we arrived early for the bag drop, there were long queues at the correct zone and no staff present, resulting in total chaos. In the end, it was simple to drop off our five large suitcases. The flight and service were exceptional. I highly recommend pre-ordering your meals in advance—which we failed to do because we ran out of time—but overall, we cannot fault the service
Asiana don't want repeat business
Recently introduced to Asiana and could immediately see the advantages of me using this again were it not for the fact that it is IMPOSSIBLE to join their mileage rewards club. Shame, but they do this deliberately.
Worst trip I had - avoid
Worst trip I had, I tried to file a complaint via email, they informed me to use their voice of customers on website which I did, received a notification to confirm they received my complaint and they have done nothing about this.
When I say worst flight in my life, I mean it, I was sat next to a passenger who kept sleeping on me and was also bleeding from the arm with cuts all over him, who bled on the arm rest which made me feel really uncomfortable, I informed the staff and they just gave him plaster and wipes and I stated I wanted to move seats they were unable to provide me any assistance. 14 hour flight that was, and I have kept video footage of all of this with blood, I really hope Asiana can reach out and compensate me as I don’t wish anyone to be seated with someone who is bleeding on the flight and be forced to sit next to him with no sign of great customer service.

The man at the check in at Rome didn t even try to help. One call. No empathy. Lost a flight and the operator, mind me 4th operator I got in touch left me 40 minutes ON HOLD. Disastrous. Never again. Really friendly service
Really friendly service. I had called beforehand because I wanted a vegan meal on my flight. It was no problem at all, worked out well.
The flight was on time and the seats comfortable. I can recommend asiana and I don't know why people complain.

Unreasonable Gate Enforcement & Lack of Sensitivity
I regret not reading reviews before booking with Asiana Airlines.
At the boarding gate, I was required to reduce my cabin baggage to two items. I had already minimized and consolidated my belongings to the absolute limit. Due to the physical dimensions of the bags, it was clearly impossible to combine them further — this was visibly obvious.
Despite explaining this calmly, I was told that if I did not comply immediately, I would not be allowed to board. Being threatened with denial of boarding at the gate — after demonstrating cooperation — was highly stressful and unnecessary.
As a Muslim passenger travelling with a long transit, my hand carry contained prepared halal food for sahur, essential personal items, a change of clothes, and importantly, my prayer outfit and prayer mat. These were carefully arranged because halal availability and appropriate facilities during transit are limited.
The rigid enforcement showed a lack of practical judgment and cultural sensitivity. The approach felt intimidating rather than customer-focused.
Compared to my experiences with Air China, China Airlines, and China Southern Airlines, this was significantly more unpleasant.
I will not choose Asiana Airlines again.
Garbage airline
Garbage airline. You can't buy a ticket for your family. If I want to buy a ticket for my mom with credit card they won't accept your payment. The credit card must matches with the passenger. First time ever seen company like this.
Scam airline
Scam airline. They cancelled our flight for a family holiday to Japan a month before departure. No compensation. No alternative tickets offered. Presume they resold them for more cash. Gangsters

Shocking customer service and completely incompetent handling of flight changes. My return flight was altered with no solution provided, leaving me to sort out how to get home myself. The change notification email couldn’t even be replied to, and customer service is only reachable during limited working hours.
Despite clearly requesting to be rebooked on the same flights as my travelling companions, I was moved to a different day without my consent, disrupting my plans and accommodation. When I called to correct their mistake, I was spoken over, accused of lying, and treated in a dismissive and condescending manner.
This airline shows zero accountability, poor communication, and a complete lack of respect for customers. I will not be flying with them again and strongly advise others to avoid.

This has been the most infuriating company we've ever had to deal with, along with justfly. We have spent WEEKS trying to get a solution with justfly and asiana airlines and both customer service teams have been ridiculously unhelpful. We have been told from justfly to call the airlines, we call asiana airlines, they say to talk to justfly, we talk to justfly, they tell us to call asiana airlines.. etc over and over and over again we have been playing phone tag with justfly and asiana airlines about 6 different times, hopping back and forth only to be told to call the other company. Its getting absurd and so infuriating that they act like nothing can be done! Especially Asiana airlines! They have rejected my medical exemption letter with no explanation.
I had an accident that required immediate medical intervention and surgery and I have a letter from my surgeon detailing strict guidelines of no travel whatsoever and asiana airlines refuses to give us any ounce of help regarding our situation.
Everytime we have spoken to someone from asiana airlines they say "sorry we cant do anything" which is not the case, you can do way more than justfly and this company has given us no guidance at all on what we need to do when we talk to justfly. They say they're helpless then hang up on you.
We have tried so hard to be patient in this situation but we are at a breaking point when dealing with this company that clearly doesn't care at all about their quality of service or customer care.
I'm not one to leave reviews usually but we don't know what to do at this point because now were out $1800 for an unforseen circumstance and won't be able to afford to book our honeymoon again when I'm recovered from surgery. Even when we can afford to book any sort of travel after paying for the medical bills, we are never booking with justfly or asiana airlines ever again! Stay away from them! Never give them your money because all they want is to take it and act like they have no authority over giving a refund for your flight ticket when you have a serious medical condition and can no longer travel.
No decent ground support at Heathrow
Awful experience with Asiana - they have no proper ground support at Heathrow and it is near impossible to speak to anyone in English at their overseas offices. Suggest you avoid them and fly with someone else
can't order special meals
Trying to order a special meal seems impossible. They removed the option from the website and you have to call a number which sends you back to the website. I tried to talk to an operator but nobody is ever available. I guess I have to bring my own snacks for the next 12-hour flight.
Unbelievably Poor Handling of Our Medical Case – Refund Disgrace
I do not recommend them at all. We had an emergency surgery in the family and informed the airline six weeks before the flight. We provided every document they requested, including letters from our GP and the hospital.
Their Australian office refused to speak with us because the ticket was purchased online for a Seoul–Tokyo route. This meant we had to call South Korea every time, wait on hold for nearly an hour, and repeat the situation over and over.
Despite clear medical advice stating I was not cleared to fly, they still made excuses. In the end, they refunded less than twenty percent of the fare.
For us, it is never ever again.

Wunder mich ehrlich gesagt, dass hier so viele negative BEwertungen sind. Ich bin schon öfters mit Asiana geflogen, vor kurzem erst nach China und hatte keine Probleme. Im Flugzeug alles in Ordnung, genug Beinfreiheit etc.
Es gibt wirklich schlechteres, aber natürlich auch besseres. Der Preis passt aber.

I booked an Asiana flight from Osaka to San Francisco many months ago at a favorable fare. Now, a few weeks before my trip, Asiana notified me that there has been a schedule change. My connection in Seoul is now impossible. They gave me a choice of a refund or an earlier flight to Seoul which would require an 8 hour layover. They would not book me on another airline, although there are much better connections available. If I take the refund, I will have to pay 3 times as much for another flight. I could have done better several months ago when I reserved Asiana but Asiana has robbed me of that possibility. I booked through American Express travel and they can't even reach Asiana. What a poor excuse for an airline. I will file complaints with the FAA and other agencies.
Asiana + Booking it's the worste choice you can do......
Abbiamo scelto Asiana perché su Booking aveva dei prezzi competitivi, ma è stata la peggior scelta che potessimo fare. Abbiamo un volo da Tokyo a Roma domani, acquistato quasi un anno fa, con i posti scelti e pagati a priori, e adesso ci hanno assegnato 4 posti sparsi qua e la, tutti scomodissimi. Asiana dice che è colpa di Booking, Booking dice che è colpa di Asiana e intanto domani ci aspetta il peggior volo della nostra vita. Anche pagato a caro prezzo. Uno schifo, mai più acquisterò voli da booking!!!!
don't fall for "coupon" scam on Asiana
Asiana offers "coupons" for becoming a member and then booking on their website. Catch: 1) you cannot sign up to be a member more than 180 days before your flight 2)prices went from $476 to$668 overnight at the 180 day mark 3) their website (at least using a MAC) does not allow you to actually use the coupons, nor will it allow you to pay with a US credit card. Hours and several calls later, ended up booking on Travelocity at higher price.
