Fosters Family Funeral Directors Reviews 

We used Fosters funeral care located at Ayr Road, Newton Mearns where upon Marie introduced herself and extended her deepest condolences to us on the passing of my mum.
I have no words that can convey just how wonderful, compassionate and professional Marie was.
Marie covered everything meticulously, explained the process in sequential steps, also took the upmost of time with us, reassuring my self and my daughter that anything we did or did not like, could be changed or altered.
By all accounts, Marie is outstanding, this is not just a job to this lady, the compassion she extends to relatives on the loss of a loved ones, clearly defines as one, who not only resonates with the family but has the upmost respect for those that have sadly passed.
Again words cannot convey or express my gratitude towards Marie.
Thank you so much for your support, kindness and the great compassion that you not only showed to us but also my mum, when she was in your care.
I would also like to acknowledge Angus, Kirsty and the respected drivers, again, the professionalism and courteous manner they showed throughout the transportation both at the Funeral Parlour to the chosen crematorium was perfect.
Our celebrant was Maurice King who we met and conversed with on several occasions. Maurice’s eulogy for my mum was marvellous, he captured the essence of my mum’s life and intertwined it beautifully on reflection within her family.

Our only concern was the Hurlet Crematorium, their sound system needs to be addressed, it was quite apparent that some areas located within where the gathering takes place for relatives and friends, is compromised as the delivery of the eulogy was disrupted by being intermittent, some parts you could hear fine then the microphone would dip. However, this has absolutely no reflection on Maurice, Marie or Fosters, although it was raised to Marie, who dealt with it immediately.

Isla, Lesley & the team were absolutely fantastic, I’d never arranged a funeral before or been involved with one & Isla and the team made it so streamline and made a difficult situation that little bit easier.

From the moment I made the call to advise of my grans passing I was treated with care and professionalism. They discussed everything I would face in the coming weeks so there was no surprises & a plan.

Anything I asked for was treated with no issue and they did everything they could to ensure I was happy and that my grans wishes were followed.

I could not reccomend this company enough, they are lovely lovely people and the respect they showed to me & whilst looking after my gran is something I will never forget.

On my father’s unexpected passing, our first phone call was to Fosters 24-hour service line. We had used the Dunfermline branch before and we knew that Lynne would look after us all well.
The staff that came to the house to collect my father were impeccably dressed and respectful. everyone we dealt with and especially Lynne at Fosters were wonderful.

At a difficult time it was a pleasure dealing with Isla. The service was professional and went off without a hitch. It was really good not to have to worry about any of the details as it was all taken care off. Highly recommended

It's always a different time when your loved one dies it's hard very hard. Knowing that you have family friends to support you is important. What also is important is that you have the right people to help you to arrange for your loved one to have the best send off that they deserve to have. I found that with Fosters in Livingston they were amazing. I mostly dealt with Isla who was the best she helped me every step of the way. Isla kept in contact throughout the whole process and went above and beyond to help. The undertakers were amazing to very professional. Thanks to Fosters my cousin got the best send off. Xxx

In the most difficult of times, Fosters in Newton Mearns were professional and compassionate. From taking my father’s body from the house, to explaining the process, to making sure the day of the funeral ran exactly to plan, Marie and the team took as much of the stress away out of the process as possible.

We could not have asked for a better funeral director than Fosters’s from the moment we needed them all the staff were amazing they made a difficult time easy to navigate, we were cared for by lynne in Dunfermline who showed much empathy and kindness who directed us to what needed to be done and made the whole service flawless, as did Denis and Donna and Stuart I hope I never have to deal with this again, but if I did I wouldn’t chose anyone but fosters thank you for the care taken of our mother/mother- in-law and the kindness you showed to us.

My mother was cremated on 20th May 2026, and right from the start we, as a family, were treated with respect, compassion, and understanding. Lorraine and Sharon went out of their way to make sure our requests were met, and kept us updated as the process progressed. Nothing was a problem, and we felt very comfortable and relaxed planning the funeral with them. On the day, everything went smoothly and successfully. The drivers were helpful and considerate, and very professional. I highly recommend this company for anyone requiring their services.

From beginning to the end the service i received especially from Lynne , Dawn and Pauline was more than five star , they were brilliant and extremely professional, highly highly highly recommended .

We were very impressed with the excellent service from Lynne at Fosters Dunfermline. Everything was organised perfectly and carried out with real professionalism and compassion. Lynne kept us informed at every stage and was so helpful, nothing was too much trouble. As a result, our mum/gran was given a perfect send off, which brought great comfort to us during a very difficult time. I purchased a direct cremation plan, the young lady was very knowledgeable and gave me excellent advice. The whole process was nice and smooth i would highly recommend fosters to anyone

Unfortunaltly after my mum passing away i had to sort a cremation i dealt with lynne at the dunferline branch and at such a hard time she was so amazing compasoniate and empathetic aswell as explaing everything to me honestly cant thank her enough for everything

We used Fosters in Hamilton, South Lanarkshire to arrange my Uncles funeral when he passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. From the minute we went, Anthea was amazing. She is kind, thoughtful and full of compassion. This was my first time having to fully arrange a funeral myself and Anthea helped us every step of the way. Explained everything so clearly and helped us make decisions on things that we hadn’t really thought about. On the day the limousine driver was fabulous, kind and caring and so accommodating. Thanks to Anthea and Fosters we were able to give my Uncle the send off he truly deserved.

We cannot thank Lynne enough for the care, compassion, and professionalism she showed during such a difficult time. Every detail was handled with dignity and kindness, making the whole process much easier for our family. We are deeply grateful for the excellent service and calm support and guidance she provided our family from start to finish.
