Cheating customers as a business model
The company offers seemingly lower rates for rent-a-car only to overcharge you for alleged damages afterwards. The "appraisal" is done by the company's own repair shop. So much to objectivity. We were charged EUR 280 for a scratch on the car rim that was almost impossible to discern without a magnifying glass (I preserve the photos for the customer protection case). It could have been washed away. The company insisted the rim needed to be taken off and coloured and polished all over again, which they will of course never do, but you as a customer have no way of tracking it.
