It was easy to place order online. I was able to request a delivery time when given the date. Delivered as planned. Friendly and helpful staff.

Kind and generous employees at Lancing Decorating Centre
As my wedding approaches next week, my dad and I have been busy crafting wedding signs and games from repurposed wood. A few weeks ago, we visited the Lancing branch of Gardner & Scardifield Decorator Centre in search of ‘affordable’ paint. There, we met employees Garry and Karen, who went above and beyond. Their kindness knew no bounds—they generously provided us with vibrant paints that would have otherwise been discarded. They very kindly mixed the paints with colours we were after. We are incredibly grateful for Garry and Karen’s support. We plan on sharing some of photos with them, so they can see how their contribution helped make our day extra special. A heartfelt thank you to both of them!

Disaster
Went to the counter, I showed the sales assistant the email with the purchase number, he kept asking what I was picking up?? Surely the purchase number should be linked with some sort of system??
There was guy driving a forklift like a maniac just in front the store entrance
Unfriendly, disorganised, unsafe
First and last time I use this company

Hello,
We’re very sorry to hear you had a bad experience with your collection order from our yard.
We appreciate your feedback on the ticket system and are working hard to address this. We are in an adjustment period with new software.
Our team prioritise being friendly and professional, so we are particularly sorry that you felt dissatisfied and not looked after. Our drivers operate at high safety standards and was operating with a banksman at the time you visited.
We will take all your concerns to the managers involved and review all the issues you have raised.
Staff are friendly
Staff are friendly, but I have ordered twice and both times they have sounded VERY unsure/uncertain of whether they could fulfill the orders or make the deliveries on time. First order was delivered on time, but with the staff advising that it 'probably wouldn't be'. Second order I gave 8 days notice for delivery and received a phone call on delivery day saying that my order may not be delivered on the day. As it was, they managed it, albeit four hours late. I hate leaving this review, as I visit G&S in person frequently and love thier old-fashioned service and knowledge in-store. however, the online side needs some SERIOUS upskilling.

Hello, thanks for taking the time to leave this considered review. We’re delighted that our team’s expertise and service skills have impressed you. We will pay close attention to the issues you’ve raised with delivery management and make improvements wherever we can.
We do think this may have been slightly exceptional circumstances: the branch that processed your order and delivery had issues with vehicles and delays caused by previous recipients that were beyond their control. We’re very sorry that this may not have been communicated clearly and that it led to legitimate frustrations. We are looking into how we can proof ourselves against repeats of this.
