The auctions are good both in range & quality , & overall it has been a quality experience there are several ways that it could be improved, 1 if not suplying combined postage it should be shown on each items page 2 stones should be closely examined if there is a fault it should be in the discreption 3 before placing a item onsite it should be tested to verify that is correct.You are running the auctions so you make the rules Regards Dennis

I thought I had set up a buyer account on the site and then bought something. Now I keep getting an email that the seller has sent me a message but I can't log in to the site. And when I try to reset my password I get a message that the email, the one that they are using to contact me, is not in their system. And trying to find a way to contact them is next to impossible. I'm not happy.

first auction I interact online and honestly you got to be patient, till you get the right timing to bid as other people is in the same boat as I am, so its a race I call it, but its fun, I was slack today for a certain item that I want and I lose it as time hit close , I supposed I better luck next time. I received a couple of stuff I won and one had a written item easily identify, but the other one the company didn't bother what it was, so I go Figure, just wrap them in soft cloth, and away it went......................thanks Flora

I find that the site is quite well done and a little work will help you understand everything about how the site itself works. That having been said there should be an ability to make a bid greater than one dollar in an auction. It is all very well and good to be able to leave an automatic bidding system in place where you raised by one dollar to a specified limit, however I think it would be nice also to be able to make a bid even for those items which do not include make an offer. Also I would like to see a cancel button in the auction which would allow you in case you were to have a specific reason or no reason at all merely to cancel your bits I think this would be fairly simple to do and in so recommending I am merely saying that you would be more like Amazon in that you have a certain specified amount of time to cancel a bit, or in the world of Amazon cancel an order. Amazon generally gives you one half hour to cancel with no repercussions. I generally like your site and enjoy going about it, I guess everyone enjoys getting a bargain but like every other activity in the buying and selling arena caveat emptor or let the buyer beware is a requirement.

I have to admit that naturally I was pretty nervous when I bought my first gemstone online. I chose to buy through Gem Rock Auctions as I felt the process was straight forward and the seller that stood out in terms of quality was TLCGems. I bought a beautiful mastercut umbalite garnet and I was not disappointed. The quality of the stone and the cut was exquisite and Terri at TLCGems is an amazing communicator with great knowledge. Nowadays, Gem Rock Auctions is one of my "Go To" sites to source gemstones for fine jewellery. There is a fantastic selection of gemstones to suit every project and budget with fascinating information to help you learn about gems. I have bought from several sellers on this site. A few of my favourites include TLCGems, FoxHopGems, LawsonGems, BuyGemsWholesale and Gemland. I have found the sellers to be reputable with great communication. If you know what you are looking for, everything is there but if you need a little help, these sellers can answer questions and help you to realise some truly amazing projects. Without fail every time I show my jeweller (who is also a qualified gemologist) a stone I have bought on this site they are blown away by the quality and excited to work with the stones. I really enjoy shopping on this site to find great value on quality gemstones.

Very unprofessional service and biased sheriffs. I've wanted to open a seller account on this website for which I have completed all the steps and requirements (application form, photo identity, personal and trade references, registered company information, etc).
Firstly i had to contact them after 3 weeks of applying for the decision of my application, whether it is approved or not
Secondly, when they replied, they said I cannot open my seller account and they closed the support ticket claiming the issue has been resolved.
I then opened another support ticket to ask why am I being rejected although I have provided all the necessary documents. I got a cold reply that your account is not approved and thats it. surprise surprise, the ticket closed again and marked resolved.
I opened another ticket asking for a phone number of customer support or anyone who I can speak with but on this to my surprise, they suspended my account.

No reasoning, no professionalism, no work ethics. I wonder how this website is working with such unprofessional people in the team.

I have purchased gemstones from this site many times for my small jewelry manufacturing business. I find it a good source to find that unique, unusual stone or sometimes a good deal I can pass on to customers

I have never been disappointed and the stones are as pictured and described You need to look at the pictures carefully though to make sure it is what you want!

The only thing wrong is the way the auction timer works.. I strongly dislike how when the timer is under 5 mins and someone does a min bid the timer goes back up.. to be honest im ok with that but there absolutely needs to be a maximum spare bidding time alloted.. i think its perfectly fine to allow 5 extra reserve minutes for extra bidding time but when those 5 extra mins are spent the timer needs to go to zero. I got in a biding war with someone for 30 mins after the clock hit 1 sec so auction ended 30 mins after its projected time frame. the person i was bidding with was either a very sore loser and wanted me to pay heavily for outbidding them or that person was the seller of the item on a different account. my guess is they were being a troll because they knew i would keep bidding until i won.. so until you fix this horrible bidding system i will refuse to bid on anything of decent value.. there are also some minor bugs here and there with the “offer” option on the “buy it now” items but nothing crucial it still works just fine. at least add an option for a more traditional bidding format, more people would bid if it didnt seem so rigged.. let us choose from two or three bidding formats or give us the option to customize the format of the auction, maybe add that in later but please give us a normal ebay like auction format

Horrible place, I couldn’t even receive a dollar that a purchased from a stone I bought. I told him that I didn’t receive it and this is what he replied, what a big baby.
And he wants me to spend more, lol.

It was the first time I had brought on Gem Rock, and I was pleasant surprised.
I was a bit hesitant at first but when I received my gem it has given me the confidence to purchas more through them.
There is a great varity of gems, both semi prescious and prescious stones. I would highly recomnend Gem Rock Auctions

I love that Gem Rock Auctions has the ability to offer me all kinds of gems from all over the world. The auctions are fair and Honest. The purchase now prices are reasonable.

The site administrators are dishonest I have had only bad experiences with stones from this website and when I complained the admin SUSPENDED MY ACCOUNT!!!! this is very dishonest behavior! GEM STONE SHERIFF IS A SCAM THERE IS NO WAY THEY CAN GRADE A STONE FROM PICTURES THE SELLERS GIVE THEM!! THIS IS TO GIVE YOU A FALSE SENSE OF SECURITY!!

I have had 2 very bad experiences with this site now and I will never use it again I'm sick of getting ripped off by the sellers on Gemrockauctions.com its a joke. I hope you all read this before considering a purchase.
the first experience was I bought a sapphire the seller told me the value of the stone was in the $7500AUD range I paid $3200AUD. once the gem arrived I could see problems in the stone when it was supposed to be clear and only visible under 10+x magnification but is was clearly graded far higher than reality.
before purchasing I asked for an independent check on the stone from Gemrockauctions !!!BEWARE GEMSTONE SHERIFF!!! this feature on this site is complete fantasy there is no way they can check the stone from some photos that the seller has put up this is a complete lie!! the result was that they confirmed the sellers value and that to stone was listed correctly!

I did the smart thing and took the stone to a registered gem valuation business and they valued the stone at a maximum of $750AUD for insurance purposes then Gemrockauctions and the seller tried to convince me I was still wrong and the valuation was to low! I don't care mabey it was low but there is no way in hell they got it wrong by 90% of the value! after getting screwed around for about 7-8 weeks and sending the low-grade stone back at my own risk again! I received a refund but I lost around $200USD in postage and the $150 for the valuation for nothing.

after this gemrockauctions gave me a credit of $200 off my next purchase if i removed my negative review which I didn't want to take but I thought it was better than losing my money completely.

so a couple of weeks ago I purchased a diamond for $450USD once it arrived I took it to my longtime jeweler and diamond Valuation expert and once again I'm left RIPPED OFF I have paid well over the RETAIL value for a stone that's colour and clarity was incorrectly listed to be better than reality. the stone was listed as VS but there were inclusions all through the stone and visible to the naked eye! the colour was listed as GH-WHITE, in reality, it was J far from the listed GH! now i will probably have to send it back on my own dollar for another chance to be ripped off by another seller!

the sellers on this site must bank on the fact that most people wont get the stones valued and are happy with what the get little do they know they are being ripped off.

If you risk purchasing anything from this overpriced website make sure you take it to get valued from an official gem testing business because you will find you have probably been ripped off like i have been TWICE!!!!!!!!

After trying to log in this morning instead of writing to me trying to solve the issue of being ripped again I have had my Account suspended!

They are claiming I paid $200USD which is incorrect I paid $450USD there was no discount given only a $200 credit because I was ripped off from my last purchase.

I love shopping there and it is fun bidding. If you are into Jewelry and gemstones I think you are at the right place.
