GenX Auto Transport is a crooked and fraudulent company.
Shane Carter is a criminal. He is a thief. He is a con artist.
MY EXPERIENCE
On January 26, 2026 I paid a $150 deposit when placing an order for my car to be shipped from New York City to West Palm Beach between March 23–26.

A few days prior to the schedule pick up, Shane Carter emailed me to say that there would be a delay, but he refused to give me a new pick-up date. This broke the terms of my agreement with Gen X auto transport, and I needed certainty, which they failed to provide me with over the next few days.

Consequently, I had no choice, but to hire another transportation company.
I communicated with Shane Carter and asked that he refund my $150 deposit.

At first, he did not reply at all, and then when I threatened to take him to court, he just stopped responding with me.

In the last 5 months I have emailed and telephoned Shane Carter over 10 times.
Most of the time he does not reply, and at no time has he said he intends to pay back my $150 deposit.
Clearly, he has no intention of paying me back, so he has stolen my money

Please be aware that based on my personal experience, I have concluded that Shane Carter is a fraud, a crook and a liar.

I’ve been contact Thomas for more than a month and He reply telling me that I was gonna get my deposit of $100.00 back and all the time it’s a excuse, I send the money more than 6 months already and it’s more than 1 month after they couldn’t ship my car for the price the said 6 months ago. I’m not mad because of the fact they didn’t ship my car but the fact that they don’t give me my money back. It’s just $100.00. I’ve been so paciente with my text messages and voice messages. I’m a honest person and I don’t like people that is not honest and play with others people money. I hope to heard soon from you. I’ve left multiple emails regarding my $100 deposit that wasn’t sent back me when I no longer want their service due to their carrier not finding me driver. It’s going on a month and these people are ignoring me. I wouldn’t recommend using this company to transport your car !

had an excellent experience with this car shipping company from start to finish. The booking process was simple, communication was clear, and they kept me updated every step of the way. My vehicle was picked up on time and delivered in great condition.
The driver was professional, courteous, and handled my car with great care. Pricing was transparent with no hidden fees, which I really appreciated. Moving a vehicle can be stressful, but they made the entire process smooth and worry-free.
I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone needing reliable and efficient auto transport services, and I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again in the future!

I went with GenX Auto Transport. I felt that the service overall was ok. Wasn’t very upfront with pricing and timeline as to when I would recieved my car. I did eventually get my car but it was definitely not delivered in the time that i was expecting it to be delivered.

Buyer be aware - Bait and switch moving a car from Bradenton, FL to Fort Lauderdale, FL. Received a bid to move operatable vehicle for $125, seemed too good to be true, booked it and confirmed multiple times if this was an estimate or actual price, rep assured me after I paid deposit of $50, then rest is paid to driver. Sent deposit at 7pm on 12/5/25, rep said car will be picked up 12/8/25. That was the last I heard from them, I called Monday 2x, sent 5 txt asking for update, seller of car stayed on property to give the car to truck, I called main number and spoke to a different rep, he had my rep call back, he did but had a rude tone saying that I was wrong, that he did send follow up txt and calls (I had no proof of this). He said he can have the car moved at 8:30 pm 12/8/25 for $250. I said this is not what you offered initially at $125. Rep said, "if you want the car on Monday that is what it cost". Frustrated, I said I got other bids for less, rep then said I went back on the contract rules meaning once you sign with them, you can no longer entertain other offers. I replied as a consumer, I will look at all offer for the best deal, rep said the contract with GenX Auto Transport is now cancelled and If I wanted the car delivered by them it will be minimum $250 to $280 because I spoke to other companies (insinuating it was my fault the price went up) I was furious, I asked for deposit back & was told nonrefundable and refused to move my car for less than $250 likely $280 to $300 because I talked to other companies. Told them this is wrong, not how to do business, reported them to Better Business Bureau Darian, CT and make sure the general public is aware how they conduct business. I am working with my bank to cancel deposit and rebooked the car transport with a different company at $250, the actual price to move my car - GenX did the "Bait & Switch" to get me to sign with them, then changed the price to the real cost after I paid deposit. The GenX Transport company are unprofessional, rude and frankly disrespectable consumers. Once I shared what I intended to do, the apology txt came through. It's a competitive business, they work in a service business; to earn trust and get repeat business, honesty goes a long way and in the end the customer is always right if you intend to earn repeat business.

Update:
After this post, a manager called to follow up, they disciplined the employee for the poor service and refunded the $50.00 deposit. One person's actions unfortunately was a reflection of the company, but the management leadership did right by the customer, this tells me they took full responsibility for the actions of the employee and made it right for me as the first-time consumer of their services. I cancelled my stop payment with Bank of America & I am willing to give them another shot which I intend to do.

Shane is a great person to deal with, very understanding and honest. He is very professional and did his best to help out. He did find a great driver to take my car to the destination with outmost care. I highly recommend his service.
