Really good as an meeting initiator with companies.
The Clera team helped me a lot with my decision in choosing the best team or company to join. Their communication was on point.
Cold outreach emails from AI deliberately look like they come from a human "Sarah", and they use a different domain "getblona".
Cheers, Sarah

The phrases are enticing and manipulative:
"I'm working with a VC-backed startup on their engineering hiring"
"Totally understand if timing isn’t right. I’ll close your file unless you’d still like intros to the teams hiring"
I don't have a "file" with them, they don't really have a "role for me", when you go to their website you realize they use AI to harvest profiles for a recruiting database.
If you read closely a bunch of the positive reviews you realize they're clearly AI generated text too.

I find this to be better than LinkedIn since it matches you with companies that are a good fit instead of just showing the most popular companies with postings. The fact that matching is done for you and you don't have to sift is a lot better than having to look through so many postings yourself. The team is also really involved and helps with filling out your screening questions for you
Likely a scam.
“Founder” reached out saying “ I'm working with a VC-backed startup on their engineering hiring - they're growing incredibly fast and are looking to expand their team. Your experience seemed like a good fit and I thought you might be interested.
Do you want me to introduce you directly to the founders? Happy to share more details”
Upon inquiring further, the first thing they asked for was a copy of my resume but after some back and forth to see if there was a real opportunity the “Founder” got back with this:
“To be transparent: my initial outreach was templated, so I don't have a specific role to point you to just yet. Here's the honest version of what actually happens at Clera:
I need your LinkedIn profile to run a proper match against our network of VC-backed startups. Once I have that, I can pull up the specific companies, founders, and roles that actually fit your Go and ML background, then you can do your due diligence.”
If you can’t be transparent initially, what makes you think I will trust you with my information?
Seems like a resume mining + user generating/onboarding scam
Clera reached out to me early March, and by end of March I had my dream job! I cannot recommend Clera enough, they have been proactive, helpful, and kind through the whole process. If you are looking for a new start-up job, Clera is absolutely the way to go!
I highly suspect that they take your resume and linked in for data mining.
I provided my linked in, my resume, and then clicked generate jobs.
It took 5 minutes to sit there assuring me I could close the window.
Once I closed the window, it took me back to the main page and nothing ever happened.
So I went back to enter in more details and it made me walk through the same process forgetting my extra details I provided which is a sign of bad site engineering, Im a full stack engineer so I would know.
But, I clicked and went to wait again, and just left the screen that said it was generating jobs, it eventually moved through the loading bar, but again, took so long that my laptop timed out.
I went back in after 30 minutes and the site brought back up the same page stating that I needed to enter my info again (again losing my details).
At this point, I realized this was likely a scam.
If someone from support wants to reach out to me go ahead.
I would be glad if this was a real product, but to me, their website design was fundamentally flawed. On the outside it looks good, but then consistently fails to do the thing it advertises which is look for job matches.
I wasnt able to get it to work once from both my laptop and phone.

Great support even when I fall off the wagon! I've been busy with a newborn and with moving and the folks at Clera would routinely check in with me and let me know when I was matched with new jobs, writing recommendations as necessary.
So far, I started up with Clera after I got an outreach and I wanted to see what the platform did. I uploaded a resume just seeing what it would do after I failed to respond to some emails. Well I got some follow up emails after that and some introductions, then I was able to talk to Sebastion. I got an interview within the first day of using it and I like the emails and follow ups

Best platform ever. I got an invite to an interview within 2 hours after declaring my interest for a particular company.

Amazing! Clera is an AI and is probably the most advanced conversational ones out there!

Great website! Daniel Wintermeyer and Alex are amazing!!
The platform is well designed and the team is very motivating.
Hassle free process so far with Sebastian, Constant back and forth conversations and keeping updated with opportunities with no stress.
Total BS - the initial email I was sent outright lies
> I'm working with a Sequoia-backed startup on their engineering hiring - they're growing incredibly fast and are looking to expand their team. Your experience seemed like a good fit and I thought you might be interested.
>
> Do you want me to introduce you directly to the founders?
The website is full dark patterns:
- The email faked that I'd missed the first one
- Website uses beforeunload to prevent you leaving
- The main informational link on the website doesn't do anything

I have tried many job matching platforms such as Indeed, Flexjobs, Handshake, etc. When I first used GetClera it immediately stood out with its intuitive UI and clean layout. Sometimes finding a job feels like a whole job in and of itself, but GetClera felt more like a natural process of presenting my qualifications and having someone hand pick companies and talk me through the application process :)

This is 100% fraud. I will explain, and in even greater detail now that [VIP] is making me edit this again in their second takedown attempt. Naming fraudsters breaks terms of service apparently, so it's up to you to determine how many VIPs are in on it and how many are merely incompetent.
The way the scam works is that Clera has an AI bot that impersonates [VIP] by sending emails from them from a different domain `clera.dev` that redirects to `getclera.com`. This in itself is already a red flag, by the way, because having mismatched domains can be attributed to sloppiness, but provides plausible deniability for any wrongdoing because [VIP] can then wring their hands and cry, "Oh no, it must have been some evildoer spoofing us. Oh, I'd never!"
The subject line claimed that a Y Combinator startup has asked them to reach out and "[VIP]" offered to introduce me to the founders directly. I replied in the affirmative and "[VIP]" followed up by reneging entirely and instead offering "a personalized page of opportunities based on your preferences". So yeah, that's fraud and if this also happened to you you can report it at reportfraud.ftc.gov, not that they'll do anything about it.
Another red flag is that [VIP] had my original review taken down within an hour for "defamation", and I had to provide email evidence to Trustpilot to get it restored. They are really prioritizing damage control here. Speaking of damage control, also after the review was posted [VIP] sent me an email from their actual address, but instead of employing the correct strategy of wringing hands and crying they opted for gaslighting, describing my exchange with the bot as "very confusing." ... And then the bot followed up the next day, unprompted, about this personalized page.
Why are they doing this, you might ask? They're maximizing user engagement so that when they show numbers to investors the investors laugh and clap instead of crying themselves to sleep over investing in the AI slop bubble. The investors are getting defrauded also. Since Y Combinator is mentioned and used as leverage, they're possibly a victim as well -- I'm not a lawyer, but if I were them I'd be a smidge upset.
Anyways, let's take a gander at their actual website shall we? This review is already overly long, but we can look at a couple of cases that stand out, for starters Clera itself. They're their own customer and are allegedly hiring a "Founding Engineer" for $130-160k in San Francisco. This could be high elsewhere, but in the second-most expensive city in the US that's quite low for what is supposed to be a high level position.
For my second example I decided to look at a company that's decidedly, uh, ethnic, as those are usually gold mines. And so it turns out that "[ethnic subcontinent word] Inc" in LA is hiring a "Java Developer" with the qualifications of "Understand Customer." So yeah. I'm so tired... Also, two of the VIPs are trying to connect with me on LinkedIn. That's creepy, right? Anyways, my original though redacted review follows. I wrote it so I think it's funny.
EDIT
As an unemployed unperson, I was both pleased and surprised to receive an email from, for once, someplace other than that most sacred of subcontinents. [VIP] is an upstanding citizen who composes [their] emails entirely by hand. [Their] recruitment emails are most exquisitely human, and one can only hope that eventually every job seeker in the cauldrons of LinkedIn will be blessed and uplifted by them.
Due to [VIP]'s human -- and thus fallible -- nature, [they] [sarcastic comment about human mistakes that violates no stated rule], such as asking "Do you want me to introduce you directly to the founders?" in the original email, and then after an affirmative response following up with "I need to clarify that Clera doesn't schedule calls or make direct introductions."
I most sincerely apologize for any remarks I have originally made impugning [VIP]'s character, and I especially admire the promptness with which [they] had my original review taken down within just an hour. Also, a shout-out -- nay, a standing ovation! -- to the Trust Operations team at Trust Pilot for their eternal vigilance against upstart reviewers like myself who may defame individuals or companies and thus cause the loss of revenue or of their most dear Monthly Active Users.
END OF EDIT
[Redacted comment about people who annoy me that didn't even have any personally identifiable information but was flagged anyway.]
Loved the process, although it took like some time to find me the right match, but none the less, Clera was amazing at recommending jobs and facilitating interviews!

Antwoord van Clera
The process was very smooth, and I received timely updates regarding the new opportunity and each step of the application process. From expressing my interest to progressing through the interviews, everything was handled efficiently and professionally.
Clera stayed closely connected with me throughout the entire process, which helped maintain great momentum and made the overall experience very positive.
