You have options! If they're scamming you please read about your options here.
I took notes from a google review but they deleted their google presence so here are the notes I have from the best review on there. YOU HAVE OPTIONS! They had their moving license suspended apparently last year according to a news article.
Colorado and Florida attorney generals
FMCSA
DOT IG line
Local police
If this company shows up to your move and start packing, start moving, have already moved your belongings to their storage facility in Erie, stop it as soon as possible. Stop in the middle of operations, stop in the middle of them loading the truck, stop them once your things are in the storage facility and quickly hire another company to pick up from there and deliver your things. If you wait you will be in a world of hurt and upcharges for false storage fees and they'll continue telling you it's the last charge, but it's not. They name themselves similar to other well reviewed local companies for a reason, to confuse you.
If they take your things and aren't clear on delivery and upcharge you for "storage" tell them you're going to the Colorado attorney general (and then do it). They may threaten you with abandoning your items or something similar and if they do this, it is considered a felony.
That's why second point: you should record all interactions with them, even in person.
At delivery HAVE A TAPE MEASURE. They lie about cubic feet to overcharge people AND they will surprise contract out your delivery to someone else. If you don't have a tape measure to measure the actual space your move takes up, get into the trailer and do a recorded heel to toe walk of the space your move takes up so you can get an accurate estimate of actual cubic feet and video yourself doing it and take pictures. Report this to the attorney general and also ensure you mark the actual cubic feet on the bill of lading you sign at delivery.
Mark all your boxes on the paperwork at delivery that are damaged so you can pursue a claim.
Their insurance is vastly underinsured and they will make you print pictures and send everything in via paper mail which is a hassle, and you won't get reimbursed for hardly anything because they don't cover glass, electronics, or basically anything else of value that they break. Sadly, you must do this prior to going to FMCSA for arbitration.
Interstate moves should be charged by weight and not by cubic feet so you need to ask them to take you to the weigh station to confirm poundage of your move. If they refuse you can call the police for violating federal law and DOT policies.
Make sure you get a binding estimate (not just a bill of lading) prior to anyone touching your things. Write "$0 storage fees -- no storage is to be charged" on your documentation when you sign it. If they won't provide it, don't let them touch your things.
Get pictures of everything, even if they're moving things right now so you can see the condition of the boxes and furniture prior to them handling them at the very least.
Document absolutely everything. When you get your items delivered, take pictures of the paperwork before you add anything, then take pictures of your additions/alternations prior to signature, then take pictures after signature. Then send them to the attorney general.
Voice record, video record everything. If you google Good Move USA news, you will see the various people they've taken advantage of.
I'm sure I'm leaving something out but that review helped me better document my situation so we could do something about it.
