Great in depth courses, fantastic examples, great feedback. well built platform!

Felt that I have 2nd job while going through the simulator. All the challenges and tasks and decisions made - I felt I am personally part of it and loved the journey from starting a product untill it finds its product fit.

The "Simulator for Learning Data-Driven Product Management" is an excellent introduction and overview to Product Management, specifically for Product Analytics. Like every course, it has its pros and cons, so let's get started:

Pros:
1. The course takes you through the journey of Instachat, a startup set in 2016, by wrapping the entire learning experience in a simulator-based "Learning By Doing".
2. The course teaches you far more than the average "weekend-based" training or just going through the "just another PdM" course. Specifically, I would like to point out that you will need to back up your answers with data, not gut feeling.
3. You get to see a startup from the different stages in its existence, from the initial hype to pivoting. That's what makes you feel like this is an internship and not just a standard course.
4. Your answers matter. Once you provide an answer, you can't take it back, just as you can't unsend an email. That's why getting a good score on the simulator isn't as easy as one might think.
5. The amount of information and topics covered in just one course is immense. Apart from that, you get a lot of additional learning resources and recordings from a specific cohort.
6. You think something's wrong, or you are not sure why that answer makes sense? You can ask a question in the forum and receive a reply within 1-2 working days.
7. While I haven't experienced it yet, the simulator will be more beneficial to come back at some point in the future. For instance, I am not currently doing cohort analysis, but when I have to, I will come back to the course.
8. It's a great "here is something you may not have known" on topics you are already experienced in. Competitor and Market Analysis is something I am already doing. The course just gave me an additional perspective on how to approach it, with some additional websites.

Cons:
1. Price - While the material is solid, the price by itself is steep. I am not sure whether I would have paid full price for it if it hadn't been part of my personal development plan.
2. Somewhat Outdated - because the simulator takes place in 2016, which is 10 years ago. The startup is focused primarily on a mobile application, which isn't anything bad - It's just that if you are working in an AI startup, IoT, or Web 3, it might not be entirely relevant to you. The overall information will remain solid regardless, however.
3. Some of the answers to questions can be up to interpretation. While most of them are based on data analysis, some are open to interpretation. It is hard to be completely impartial, but some answers to questions end up being cherry-picked for the situation rather than being actual.
4. The simulator itself was great, but it doesn't fully cover the political side of an organization. While data could have convinced people years ago, I doubt that would work in the context of the current AI boom, where corporations are investing unprecedented amounts of $$$ to integrate AI into their workflow.
5. The course is a twist between business intelligence and product management. If it weren't for the explicit framing, I wouldn't really find a difference between it and the standard BI framing.

Really insightful, hands-on learning and so many aha! moments for me as a product manager - lots of very actionable and useful knowledge and approaches for me to take into my next role. Best online learning experience I had had.

An awesome way to get some practical knowledge about the PMF and effective ways to find it!

Tried the Data-Driven PM simulator and felt like I was inside the brain of a real PM. It’s not just videos, it’s decisions, data, consequences. My only wish? Slightly more guidance in the first few modules. Still, incredible value.

I took the GoPractice AI for product managers - mini simulator. It is a follow along course in which you have to build a AI powered online review analyser.

The whole course was divided into logical chapters, and each chapter had very easy to follow along explanations. The presence of questions between concepts enhanced my understanding and helped me understand the concept better.

I finally understood, how do you rate the responses of a non-deterministic nature.

I had a very disappointing experience. The team was unprofessional and quite rude throughout the interaction. Instead of listening or trying to understand the issue, they were quick to place blame and acted as if they knew everything. It felt like they weren’t open to any feedback or discussion, which made the situation even more frustrating. Definitely not what I would expect from a professional service.

Very good course for those who care about quality-driven products that land with their user base. Great delivery, professional moderators/coaches. Great execution overall. Solid eLearning👌.

Combines theory with hands-on practice - really simulating what it's like to be on the job! What I also really appreciate is that along the journey, you'll make your own mistakes and learn from it which you don't get in very theory based programs.

I took the Data-Driven Product Management Simulator to learn more about product management and using data to drive decisions, and I learnt much more than that.
The simulator is filled with concepts, business cases, practical examples, and simulated exercises where you use Amplitude and other resources to extract the required data to solve the exercises.
The course covers the different stages of a company, from not having market fit to figuring out how to grow and acquire clients sustainably, and it feels pretty realistic
I did a few lessons and stopped for no particular reason, then ended up joining a cohort, which helped me follow a defined pace. I recommend doing the simulator this way
Finally, the community (Slack) and the people guiding the course are kind and super helpful

Excellent interactive course

GoPractice has a great format for learning, where you learn by doing. Recently in addition to the on-demand format, there were cohorts with an expert instructor who really helps field any questions. Highly recommend the platform. I took the interactive AI/ML for PM course with Ben Dickson.
