Neglected far too long!
After years of neglect we finally found a company that could restore our parents grave stone and to be honest we are all happy with the end results. Our parents were very proud people and I know that they will equally be proud of their grave stone.

Very Disappointed
Service was efficient and informative of progress however the outcome was very disappointing. The stone was cleaned but lettering was still very unclear. The promotion of this service suggests that the lettering will become clearer. There was no advice or indication to me that this wouldn’t be the case. On advising GraveClean of disappointment I was offered at almost double the cost a more extensive service to enhance the lettering!

Sorry to hear the result wasn’t what you’d expected — though we’re disappointed with a two-star review here, given the clean itself was completed on time and to a high standard, close to new stone.
Cleaning and re-lettering are two separate jobs. Cleaning lifts dirt, moss and lichen off the stone; it doesn’t restore paint or gilding that’s worn out of the inscription, which is usually what makes lettering hard to read. Your enquiry was for cleaning, so that’s what we quoted, and our quotes set out exactly what’s included.
On cost — the clean was £129 and re-lettering is £189, so not quite double. It’s a much slower job, done letter by letter by hand.
As a gesture of goodwill we’d be happy to offer you 10% off the lettering. Do contact the office if that’s of interest.
We’re the only national memorial cleaning service in the UK, and we’ve built it to make this straightforward for families who’d otherwise have nowhere to turn.

Excellent service with exmplary staff
The staff were uniformly polite, helpful, considerate and prompt. The service itself was impressive and revelatory. It is not a service I need to use a lot, somewhat specialist, but I would wholeheartedly recommend on to others. It would make family history searches so much easier.
