Yesterday table booked for 3.15, party of eight ,waited ages for a table,food arrived 5.15. Yes two hours, unreal eh !
Obviously tables overbooked !
Didn’t complain at the time for obvious reasons.
Large car park has room to accommodate more than the two disabled parking bays.
Staff were fine, but the volume of customers needs to be addressed with a time restriction imposed. My Toad in the Hole was burnt in the Skillet, staff offered to replace same but after waiting two hours I wasn’t prepared to accept a further delay.
Will not be returning ❗️

4th class service by staff !
Sun 28th April 2024 visited the Duke of York 8 Dering St, London. Went in to watch the football which was on but drowned out by the staff watching the IPL cricket jeering and clapping at the content of the game. Asked for the football commentary to be put on bit completely ignored ! Ordered a pint and a half of cider but they poured a pint cider instead of a half completly distracted by the cricket. Since when does a customer come 2nd ! A pub to give a miss especially when cricket is on !

Visited The Dunvant in Swansea, pre booked for Sunday lunch , wasn't untill we went to order our food were we told there were no Sunday lunches today , after deciding on other things which didn't take long due to small choice ,when ordering the pie we were told sorry no mash only chips , wasnt impressed then to be handed a 3/4 glass of coke , for the price it should be filled , you'd think they would have due to food let down , I had cod in all fairness cod was cooked lovely just tasteless, portions were terrible, peas were hard , don't know what they did to the broccoli thst came with the pie but it wasn't good , chips were few . Place looked amazing and clean but was surprisingly quiet, just big let down on food and service wasn't the best.

Booked and paid in advance for a meal and tribute show in the day yesterday for 6 people. We arrived it was cold and raining there were tables set outside. Our group are all over 60 and didn’t want to sit outside. We were ushered into the back of the pub to eat. There was a table near to where the singer was going to be but we were told that it was booked. That was a lie as we knew the only people who booked before us. After the meal we came down and were “allowed” to sit at the table as the imaginary people hadn’t turned up.
Definitely not worth the £15 each.
The Chase Inn Shipbourn
The Chaser Inn Shipbourne. First of all food very good 4 stars. But what let's you down is the price of drinks. 7.50 for a pint of beer ? And spirits are very expensive too. We had a meal here a few days ago.
A Bridge too far!
On arriving excitedly at the Bridge Inn, Port Sunlight to watch the Six Nations Rugby for the Super Saturday we were told that even though the pub advertised “Guinness Six Nations” that the manager only allowed the news channels to be shown. When we enquired why and mentioned the internal adverts the staff checked and were allowed to change the channel. We asked for sound but were told they weren’t allowed to put it on even though there is background music. Being unimpressed but committed to watching the first half we ordered food only to be told we could only order from a snack menu and even then there were items missing from a shared platter.
Never enough staff
Staff work hard but never enough of them. Pubs and restaurants always keep staffing levels to the minimum even when they know its going to be busy. Reserved a table but waiting 20 minutes at the bar and still not served and counted 18 people waiting in the line for the carvery.

please find attached my email of complaints for tonight event and food in question.
We went out for meal for 5 Tonight has a family prior to today I went into the pub in question on 13th 02 2024 too book for today in question for 5 of us for 6 pm table 8. Up on arriving tonight we came too find out they not given us the correct table in question of which I took diss like tonight, never the less i was not going to let this spoil the night in question. when we sat down we decided what we going to order and I then went up too bar to placed the order for first we ordered the following items 3 garlic breads and cheese 3 cheese fires 2 mixed grill one chicken burger 2 steaks also.
we also made extra question first of all 1 steak too be well done
1 mixed grill too be well-done
The totally bill amount was £110.41 excluding drinks
When the starts came out they was ok no issues at all really.
But when the food came out this were problems was and i am sorry not paying £110.41 for this when going out for family meal too.
1, missed both gammons of the mixed grill them saying kitchen forget too put them on
1,a both meals was warm not hot of which found really poor
2, the well done steak was not cooked well-done and also not hot too
we offered too warm it up in Microwave of which we declined we not paying for food too be warmed up like this shocking
3, mine mixed grill chip not cooked correctly
4, both of meals including chicken burger and other mixed grill chip's not cooked correctly .
5, all over the meals not hot just warm
up raising this with the pub they only refunded one meal and i am requesting this too further be looked into.

please kindly note this not normally what we get from this pub or pub meals shocking.
Menu is a work of fiction
Menu is a work of fiction. We visited Cottage Loaf in Thurstaston, Wirral today for a Sunday roast and fish and chips. The roast was described as coming with rosemary and garlic roasties, maple glazed carrots and parsnips. In reality there were no parsnips, no glaze, no garlic and no rosemary. Only dry roasties and overcooked and yet cold wrinkly carrots and broccoli. The Yorkshires were pale and soft and the meat portion was a bit measley. This was all put down to a 'supply issue'. Unfortunately, every tempting element of the dish as described on the menu, was missing. The fish and chips portion was also half what we have had previously. Gravy was nice and hot and the stuffing was ok though. The staff were very polite and apologetic. Shame that a large chain struggles to get hold of garlic, herbs and a bottle of maple syrup. We have a ton of maple syrup at home and could have brought them a sprig of rosemary from the garden.
A very rude obnoxious manager, Zolton 
I would just like to say after visiting the National Hunt Greene King pub in Cheltenham the other day I had such a very very bad horrific shopping experience, whereby the manager Zolan was very very rude about my meal and the amount of time it took to get my meal to me Five people went in to the pub after I had placed my order, only to find that all five orders came out before mine and my order only come out after several times of asking now. Also I find that the club that I go to there on the Tuesdays have their Christmas meal there just before Christmas Unfortunately I could not attend that because I’ve got my Loma Cancer. However the feedback from the group was also very detrimental towards National Hunt. Apparently the food was disgusting and was all cold and when they made a complaint on the date again open the manager could not take any interest in the complaint whatsoever and was so rude and rushed off now, I was in this trade for many many years and my parents before me and I feel and this is the first time I’ve ever ever complained, but I feel that your pub a beautiful pub should be treated with Grace and put across to the public in the way, I know it can you have a problem with the manager Zolton. I’m sorry to say that. Thank you for reading thisand I won’t be going there again, so that’s about 43 people you’ve lost on a regular basis

The management and team are so welcoming and always have a smile on their faces.

Went to Windmill Farm Pub on the A46 in Lincoln today table 17, from the host at the door, the waiters and waitresses to the chefs it was a fantastic afternoon. The carvery beautiful.with plenty to choose from and hot as well, the starters, mains and ( desert for my friend) was very nice and drinks were great too all done and paid for on the Greene king app made very simple. Will be going again

Went to pine tree farm Bolton…. Had their 3 course festive menu, it was an amazing night had by our party, the atmosphere and food were great but what topped the evening was the staff…. From the moment we entered it was warm, welcoming and friendly… the staff certainly went that extra mile to make our evening festive and enjoyed. I would like to mention Reese who looked after us from start to finish with nothing being too much trouble …. Even the carvery chef although he was extremely busy he greeted everyone in the line asking them how they were and how their day had been so far … nice personal touch…. Would have no hesitation in recommending the place, the food and definitely the staff… 5 stars all around

Had an email trumpeting their new menu, which in reality was an addition of 3 different main dishes, so we tried them in hope. The Salmon Florentine for her and the Prawn and chilli linguini for me.
Far from being King prawns, they were tiny shrimp like things covered by rather sad tasteless Linguini with no sign of Italian hard cheese, though the cherry tomatoes were fine.
The Salmon was dwarfed by the number of roasted new potatoes and with only a minuscule amount of Hollandaise sauce. The expected soft, luscious runny yolked poached egg was sadly solid and unrunny and a real disappointment. How difficult is it to prepare the dish and then top it with a perfectly cooked runny yolked egg, most of us can manage it at home, it isn't a difficult task.
This is a real shame because the staff were pleasant, smart and helpful and sympathetic to our disappointment, hoping that we would return and they could do better. But let's be honest, such places only get one go at making a good first impression and sadly they didn't.
I do so dislike giving less than favourable reviews of businesses who try hard, but if nobody tells them what's wrong, how will they improve or bother to try ?
I subsequently got a response from the General Manager thus :
"your feedback is extremely disappointing, and I'd really like to speak to you to discuss it further. Please can you get in touch when you have a spare moment 01364 642214"
I have tried on many occasions to make contact with the GM all to no avail so have concluded they actually cannot be bothered to make any efforts to improve their food, or customer relations.
Disappointing Visit
My friend and I went to The Silver Cross pub just off Trafalgar Square before a theatre visit. Whilst the bar staff were swift and polite, and the food arrived quickly. The overall state of the floor area was shocking. Tables piled with dirty plates and glasses. Sticky tables and no attempt to clear or clean.
The member of staff bringing food to tables went back empty handed every time.
A member of the bar staff came to collect glasses and stated herself to the doorman that the place was a **** hole!!
People were coming in walking around, unable to find a clean table and walking out.
Overall a disappointing experience.
The toilets did not fair much better.
An exceptional place to Eat and Drink
I went The Three Magpies gastro pub Bath Road Heathrow recently.
I have visited it on and off for quite a few years and before COVID and during the pandemic the pub declined quite a bit and was surprised at this since it used to be the go to place for entertainment and lot more in that area of Heathrow.
However, in the last few weeks I revisited the pub again after a long time and ever since I have been going there regularly. There has been a breath of FREASH AIR breathed into the place, it is completely different from what it was a few years ago. Where it was in a state of decline. The trade in the pub is something that many from the hospitality industry can only yearn for, and many establishments locally have a huge level of respect for Tim, The Manager and his Assistants Dave, and Gaynor as well other hard working staff at the Three Magpies. It is well known amongst the regulars and the others in the trade locally, that without Tim, Dave and his Team, the pub would still be struggling.
I have waited a few weeks to write this review and normally do not write anything just off the cuff, but I have to respect and marvel as to howTim, Dave and his Team has manged to turn things around.
As a result I have got to know the team quite well and also have introduced many of my other friends to the pub and they also have become loyal and regular customers here. Furthermore to illustrate the spirit of the pub, I have observed; customers who are not regular attendees, offering to help out in the pub when they see that its short of staff. This is very unusual. The staff always decline and thank them for their manganous offerings with a big smile and pride.
Furthermore with the level of trade happening here, there is no security or bouncers at the door, even on music night, all hosted by Tim, Dave, Gaynor and his Team. I have since learned that they do this from their own volition. This further provides evidence as to how this once struggling establishment has become a success and will continue to do so provided its Line and Head Office Management see this pub as a jewel in their crown and strongly support it without exception.
I am giving this pub more than Five Stars, the food is great, simple, whilst appetising. The drinks are of very good quality and variety and it goes without saying that the staff are pleasant and very welcoming.
The only down side I see here is that despite the hard efforts of the pub, the Line Management needs to recognise that it needs to invest more in recruiting additional staff and identifying resources to support the establishment. There is only so much that people on the front line can do.

We went to Ashby Lodge Scunthorpe hoping that the service and quality had improved I was again dissapointed the service was dismal no courtesy no smiles the waitress never came to ask if we enjoyed the food,it has sadly gone down in expectations the food at the carvery vegetables were lukewarm the brussels were soft and mushy. The service has gone to the dogs It will be along time before we go back again. I hope Grrene King will act on this.

Stop taking seniors for a ride we went to the marine pub hornsea my wife and i thought we would have a seniors as we know the portions tend to be smaller but usualy enough .to be honest when it finaly arrived we burst out laughing 9 chips 6 small pieses of scampie and the they were small if scampie at all a spoonfull of mushy peas and a bit of lemon . Two teas and two tiny spoonfulls of ice.cream green king must realy be hard up to screw the the pensioners .what a shabby company to prey on the older people who are hard up . Ime not one to complain but even my wife who eats very little thought they were pulling our legs .ive to told the the clubs we are in to avoid these pubs and putting a warning up on the c&c.club web to avoid these senior pubs pub meals and go elsewhere .
