We have had a brilliant experience with Griffin for our son - excellent teaching, high quality resources and responsive support. We were particularly impressed with the revision materials. Huge thanks to Hayley, Sara and all the team for what they have helped our son achieve - we are thrilled with his Kent test results and will be back with his brother in a couple of years!

We are absolutely delighted — our daughter just passed the Kent Test, achieving full marks in Maths! We chose Griffin Teaching specifically because they offer just one hour a week of tuition with no more than 30 minutes of homework each week. We never wanted our daughter to feel overwhelmed; we simply wanted her to understand the methods and become familiar with the test format — and that’s exactly what we got.

Deborah is a wonderful teacher — she encourages our daughter so beautifully and truly makes learning feel fun, not a chore. Hayley is brilliant too — she makes both parents and children feel completely at ease, and always takes the time to explain exactly how we can best support our daughter at home.

We are so incredibly grateful for all the care, support and encouragement we’ve received from Griffin Teaching. It’s been such a positive experience from start to finish — I couldn’t recommend them more highly!

Hayley and her team are amazing and Griffin is incredibly well set up. Small classes, great revision resources and realistic mock tests. The feedback from mocks was great and focused too. My son only joined in the Jan before his test and he still smashed his 11 plus. Thank you so much everyone!

Hayley brings such energy and enthusiasm to every creative writing lesson, and her weekly writing club is engaging and packed with useful advice. The sessions are just 20 minutes each week, but that consistency has made a real difference to our son’s writing and confidence.

The detailed feedback on his weekly writing has been incredibly helpful, showing him what he has done well and how he can improve. Hayley is also very approachable and always happy to offer advice whenever we need support along the way.

So professional yet so caring and always willing to go the extra mile to help your child specifically. My niece and nephew passed the 11+ with Hayley's Griffin Teaching so I immediately signed my son up in year 4 ready to start in September of year 5. In small groups of 6 my son flourished and with school quality, data driven reports; multiple mock exams in a hall to mimic the real experience; feedback and additional revision resources included as part of the programme and just genuinely caring and knowledgeable teachers, I really wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. For context my son really struggles with spelling and I mean really struggles. Despite this, with the sessions and additional resources provided, he achieved full marks in all three papers. Needless to say, my daughter will be signed up next year ready to begin when she starts in year 5.

I cannot recommend Griffin Teaching highly enough. My son studied with them during Year 4 and Year 5 and did exceptionally well in his 11+ exam. They played a huge part in his learning and preparation.

Their support for both children and parents is incredible. They are organised, always quick to respond, address every concern, and provide excellent feedback. Their gentle, reassuring approach helps children feel confident without unnecessary pressure.

Exceptional Tutoring

Our son had an exceptional experience with Griffin Teaching. The group tutor was focused, compassionate and generally on the ball. When there were some gaps, they filled these with additional sessions which were all part of the service. The materials produced for group and home use were outstanding. The support provided for nervous parents was amazing. I would highly recommend Griffin Teaching to anyone considering tutoring their child. They have a huge amount of experience and they are very generous with sharing knowledge and with additional time to support you and your child.

Excellent management, guidance, support and tutoring. Hayley has been fantastic throughout the whole journey, filling my son with positive attitude all along and engraining the 'can-do' approach in him. Highly recommend Griffin teaching. Hayley and her team saw both my children successfully through the 11+ process. I really appreciated her cando and rigour, which was always also kind and reassuring. I got good feedback and her tutors never let my girls coast whilst not putting them under undue pressure.
Although we never needed it, knowing you have support ready for an appeal was also rather reassuring in the anxious wait for results.

Preparing our daughter for the 11+ has been an important journey for us as a family, and what has impressed me most is not simply the quality of the teaching, but the professionalism, honesty and genuine care that underpin everything Griffin does.

Hayley brings a rare combination of academic rigour, warmth and personal integrity. She clearly understands the pressures that children and parents face during this process, and her approach is thoughtful, measured and reassuring without ever compromising on standards or creating unrealistic expectations.

Having had 2 children go through their 11+ with Griffin, both achieving top scores and offers from their first choice schools, I could not be happier. Nothing is too much trouble for this team. They closely support children and parents providing regular updates and tailored support where needed. The course is perfectly balanced to ensure confidence is built and progress is carefully managed so children reach final test day absolutely on point. The course spotted gaps in our maths which we were able to quickly consolidate, and we really appreciated the dedicated English paper course, which was online so could be fitted in and around other commitments. This transformed my son's comprehension and writing element beyond recognition. We also took advantage of all the mock exams which not only helped my children become confident in exam conditions but also gave us clear indicators along the way as to exactly where we were. This team pivots quickly to accomodate the ever evolving exam content and changing structure. Highly knowlegable and nurturing. Could not have asked for more.

From start to finish Hayley and her team have been so supportive of both my children. Having helped my daughter with the 11+ and ISEB test she went on to secure a scholarship in a top independent school and is thriving there. We have every reason to believe our son has this exciting opportunity ahead of him too. None of this would have been possible without Hayley's thoughtful guidance and year 5 programme that she's poured her lifetime's work into. Her passion for education is unparalleled, a true expert in her field.
