Hames and Sons Locksmiths Reviews

Ross is an extremely courteous and efficient person. Did a fantastic job of adding a secondary lock to my main door. All works well. I’d absolutely recommend Ross and his firm. Thank you so much

We called Ross out when the lock on our patio doors jammed. He was really helpful and it now works perfectly again. He even helped level another door whilst he was here. Happy to recommend this local business.

Ross was brilliant, he has fitted new locks for us, was very reliable and the workmanship neat. The business is very responsive over text. Really rate this family run company. Thank you.

Fast response arrived in time and had the problem sorted quickly without any fuss. Ross was friendly and professional as well as the lady on the phone explaining the problem and giving me an Instant quote.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We can’t recommend Hames & Sons highly enough.

Ross was punctual, professional, and clearly knew exactly what he was doing. We’d previously had another locksmith out who charged £50 and wasn’t able to resolve the issue, which was frustrating and left us no further forward.

Ross quickly identified that there was a fault with the gearbox and also explained that our existing setup was unusual for a composite door, as it had a mortice-style lock where a standard cylinder system should be. He talked us through everything clearly and recommended converting it to a proper uPVC/composite door gearing system with a new handle and cylinder.

The work was carried out efficiently and to a high standard, and the door now operates exactly as it should — smooth, straightforward, and reliable.

Really honest, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to deal with. If you need a locksmith who actually understands door mechanisms and fixes the problem properly, Ross is your guy.

Thanks

Seth

We had a broken front door lock and a swollen wooden door which was almost impossible to open. An initial phone call was dealt with very efficiently and Ross visited the next morning.
The lock was replaced and now functions as it should. The side of the door was expertly sanded down and now opens smoothly. We cannot recommend Ross highly enough: we had an excellent service, delivered with a smile!

The Yale on my back door had completely broken and I couldn't remove it myself. I called Hames and had an appointment within 2 hours. Ross replaced the lock for me and has done an excellent job. Neat work, very polite and friendly. I would definitely recommend.

Fixed the problem with the failing lock on our uPVC door. Prompt, polite and very knowledgeable. Thanks so much.

The uPVC door wouldn't open on our conservatory. Rang Hames and Sons and within 2 hours Ross had fixed the problem and we had a working door. Fantastic service. Thankyou.

Very polite, great service. I would recommend Hames & Sons to all my family and friends. They were on time and sorted my door out quickly thank you .

Very professional and prompt service would 100% reccomend

Absolutely brilliant. Called on Friday for non urgent job and Ross was here bright and early Monday morning. Completed work and went above to check all was good. Asked for quote for back door too and as quote was good and he had relevant equipment needed all was sorted within a couple of hours. Excellent value, lovely human and very knowledgeable. Very happy with the work and will recommend to anyone that needs his expertise

Our back door wasn’t closing properly as there seemed to be a problem with it catching. The problem was identified and explained thoroughly and then repaired efficiently. Thank you for a great service!

Needed a front door lock changed on a recently purchased property ( had previously been rented out). Rang and spoke to a lovely lady who arranged for a very helpful young man to visit within the hour. Excellent service and reasonable rates

Good communication. Clear pricing. Polite and friendly service. Would recommend without hesitation.

Lock to front door failed. Contacted Hayes and they attended first thing next day at the time they said they would.
All sorted with new lock in quick time with no mess.
Highly recommended.

Lovely friendly lady who phoned to let me know the locksmith is running late. Friendly guy who fitted my lock. Reasonable price not too expensive.

Very quick to repond and provided great service

Arrived on time, found the cause of our jammed door lock, explained the cost, a polite and a nice guy, no problems, yes I would use them again.

Prompt and efficient work, with great service quality. The locks on the security shed and front door had seized and could no longer be opened. Due to the nature of the security lock on the shed, the locksmith feared he would only be able to destructively open it. However miracles were performed and the lock was removed with no structural damage to the door or handle. On top of that he freed up the mechanism of a UPVC front door that hadn't been used in about 15 years and diagnosed issues with our rear door. Both were fully resolved and the rear door was left feeling like new.
