Do your homework!
I bought a 4x4 from Harlequin in July for £4000. Grant was clear that the key batteries would need replacing and that he'd cover the costs for this - which he subsequently did.
There were other issues that caused me some concern during the first few weeks (a mixed set of winter tires that needed replacing with new all season ones, battery replacement, faults with Sat Nav/digital radio, repair of blown fuses, faulty parking sensor etc) but nothing major. It also, shortly after, developed an engine fault relating to the turbo. In hindsight it was at this point that I should have returned the motor, while it was still under warranty - but I thought I'd persevere.
I won't go into details about the current issues other than to say that the subsequent costs to me for both recovery and repairs are going to be in excess of £3000.
Whilst I don't believe that Harlequin Motors sold me the car knowing that there were a number of obvious issues that would require attention, they clearly didn't carry out even the most basic mechanical checks before putting the car up for sale.
I advise people to be warry when buying from this dealer and carry out their own due diligence - rather than by blind, as I did.
