My wife and I have used HCB on three occasions to act in the sale and purchase of properties. After a number of years of stability in our current home, we were somewhat hesitant in embarking on yet another conveyancing exercise to move to another County. During the meeting with HCB on the date of the 6th June 2024, both myself and my father attended a meeting with HCB, James Harvey Ligation solicitor, he was referred to my father by another solicitor within HCB, during this meeting we felt as though my father had no legal rights to protect himself and others with in the community or his property, and some people are above the law. If as they have stated within HCB they do not have the expertise HCB should of stated this immediately, due to the complexity of my fathers case, HCB should have stated that this was beyond they capabilities before my father proceeded with the Will. My father felt as though he has no legal rights regarding the issues raised in the meeting. My father was instructed not to proceed with his case and to accept the legal advice from HCB, my father went to HCB for a Will and now it has been confirmed we do not have the support from them. Due to the stress and vulnerablity and my father health issues, HCB through they professional negligence have caused my father further medical issues. The meeting should have never taken place with HCB. I would advise any future client to be careful and conduct further investigation to make sure that HCB can assist you.
