We have experienced multiple serious issues
We have experienced multiple serious issues with Highway over the past few months. On several occasions, our account has been flagged because some of our trucks were inactive, resulting in our ELD connection being disconnected. Once this happens, many brokers refuse to work with us, causing immediate disruption to our operations and lost revenue.
Every time we contact Highway, we receive the same explanation: their system automatically flags trucks that haven't moved for a period of time. We have repeatedly explained that this is completely normal in the trucking industry. Drivers go on vacation, resign, or are terminated, and those trucks may sit in our yard while we hire replacements. That should not negatively impact our company's status or prevent us from doing business.
We even suggested a simple solution—allow carriers to mark trucks as "inactive," "on hold," or "out of service" so the system doesn't automatically penalize them. We were told that this is not possible because everything is handled automatically by their system.
To make matters worse, we also discovered several VIN numbers listed under our Highway account that have never belonged to our fleet. Highway instructed us to contact our ELD provider to remove them, even though those vehicles have never been in our ELD system or under our ownership. We are being asked to fix problems that were not created by us.
We've had to spend hours resolving these issues on at least three separate occasions in just the last two months. Every incident has resulted in unnecessary downtime, lost business opportunities, and frustration for our team.
A platform that carriers and brokers rely on should have a much more reliable process and better customer support. Unfortunately, our experience has been extremely disappointing. Until these issues are addressed, we cannot recommend Highway to other carriers.
