They were very efficient and responded to queries extremely quickly

If I could give zero stars, I would. Our house sale very nearly collapsed twice due to staggering incompetence from this firm. First, they failed to contact the Land Registry at a critical stage—something so basic it’s hard to believe it was missed. Then, just as things were back on track, they managed to provide incorrect information to the lending building society, putting the entire transaction at risk again.

This wasn’t just stressful—it cost us money. Extra fees, delays, and endless chasing on our side to fix their mistakes.

A complete lack of attention to detail and accountability from start to finish. I would strongly advise anyone to look elsewhere unless you want your sale jeopardised and your patience (and wallet) drained.

I had contact with several staff but mostly with Grace who was polite, and always kept me informed throughout my purchase. Grace has an excellent sense of humour also and I enjoyed talking with her.

We used HMD Legal to handle our house sale. It was not a straightforward process due to the buyer/buyer's solicitor making things extremely and unnecessarily difficult. The end result was that the whole process took 18 months and we ended up selling to a second buyer.

Throughout this period, Nicola and the team from HMD did a magnificent job and finally managed to complete the sale. Nicola was supremely efficient and responsive, and I would recommend them to everyone unreservedly.

HMD did an amazing job as the solicitors on our house purchase. It was a very smooth process and the online tool to check progress updates works really well. Can't recommend them enough!

I really would not recommend this firm. Lots of automated junk like emails but no personal touch. They really did act in my interests and were very unresponsive. We happy to bill me for costs that should have been covered by the buyer and even after completion they have not billed me properly.

After our first attempt at buying a house fell through due to solicitors incompetence basically we went after another property and used hmd this time and everything was so smooth and informative,constant email updates with how it was going and various tasks that had been completed and the process was rather quick in my opinion so I cant speak highly enough of the way they handled our house buy and if I ever needed the service again I would definitely use and trust them to do the same work for us again

We received fantastic service from the HMD Legal team - Grace Braim in particular was such great help throughout the whole process. As first-time buyers, there was a lot we didn't know, and Grace was absolutely excellent in explaining each step and what was needed from us at every stage. She was incredibly patient and also super quick with her responses, which was really appreciated when we needed questions answered.

We always felt that Grace was very efficient and would give us regular updates even through quieter periods. This made the process a lot smoother and easier for us, as we felt like we were being supported throughout. At times when our seller's solicitors were being slightly difficult, she managed to sort the problem each time which was fantastic.

Overall, we would absolutely recommend HMD Legal to anyone looking to move house/buying their first house. The whole process from the day we instructed to completion date was made so much easier with their assistance!

HMD Legal were acting for me on a purchase of a new property which was slightly complex. My solicitor, Grace Braim was absolutely top class and an absolute credit to the company. The sellers solicitors were difficult from the onset, yet Grace diligently and professionally dealt with them with ease and secured the best outcomes for me during the purchase. Grace thoroughly reviewed all documents, replies, searches in detail and advised accordingly. I can say without hesitation, that Grace went above an beyond.

All aspects of the transaction and status could be viewed on the HMD Legal portal, which was regularly updated. If ever I had a question, I would receive a response from Grace within a matter of hours, if not sooner. Very different from other solicitors.

I would only use HMD legal moving forward for any future purchases and highly recommend them to all.
