Holiday Architects Reviews

My wife and I have just returned from a wonderful holiday in Japan, planned with expert help from Fenton. Having explained the kind of accommodations we prefer, activities we enjoy and outlined some of the places we might like to visit Fenton prepared an initial proposal for us which we then refined over a couple more conversations. Our final itinerary was perfect, Fenton found a great flight deal for us and even predicted the weather correctly ! There had been one glitch with accommodation which Fenton resolved for us immediately when we alerted him. Great job, thanks Fenton.

Holiday Architect’s Argentinian specialist ( I wish we could mention names!) was great at helping us develop an itinerary which met the differing requirements of all 4 of us. Iguaza was fantastic, Salta and Cafayate even better. We enjoyed the contrast of Buenos Aires and experiencing the different neighbourhoods - Recoleta and Boca notably. Loved the House of Jasmines hotel in Salta and the Palladio in Buenos Aires. Would have loved to stay in Argentina longer - a wonderful country and the people so friendly and welcoming.
We had a dismal experience with Iberia who failed to deliver our bags for a week ( and we were Business class - what hope for others?) but the support from the agents on the ground was fantastic. A particular thank you to the agent who led on helping us and our guide in Iguaza. They managed to mitigate the worst effects of extreme incompetence and lack of care from Iberia.

Just got back from an amazing holiday in Japan, organised through Holiday Architects and their Japan specialist, Fenton.

This was our second holiday organised through Holiday Architects after Namibia in 2024, and the company work really hard to listen to your initial wishes for your holiday (even when these are very vague!) and then provide a tailored itinerary based on their experience. For us as first time visitors to Japan, it was a perfect balance of different places and activities, with lots of time for us to explore independently.

I'm sure there is a huge amount of planning and organisation that goes into building the intineraries and responding to customer queries and adjustments but Holiday Architects make it seem really seamless.

We wouldn't hesitate to use Holiday Architects again and hope to be back soon planning another wonderful holiday.

Kirsty organised a special family holiday for us to South Africa and couldn’t have been more helpful and thorough with travel tips, driving directions and suggestions of what to do (and pack!). The places we stayed in were all lovely for different reasons and she planned a great mix of relaxation, activity and safari as the final highlight. All the arrangements went smoothly and we felt well-supported throughout - love the HA app! This was a bigger trip than we’ve done for years and we were in really good hands with Kirsty - she knows her stuff and she put care and thought into tailoring the holiday to our preferences and budget. We’d happily use HA again!

What a wonderful adventure in Japan! Big thanks to Fenton and the team for a tailor made two week trip, taking in Tokyo, Kanazawa, Hiroshima, Himeji, Kinosaki Onsen and Kyoto.

Train and bus tickets were awaiting us on arrival at Tokyo, airport transfers organised, and some great excursions and guides all booked in (a traditional tea ceremony, a zen meditation with an 83 year old Buddhist monk, a sumo exhibition match - with the chance to wrestle a retired sumo wrestler(!), four walking tours, a wonderful cycling tour of Kyoto’s quiet back streets, a boat trip to the beautiful Miyajima island to see the floating torii gate and friendly sika deer, and a full day trip out to view Mount Fuji and the five lakes.

A helpful WiFi device to use throughout the trip and handy advice before we set off re luggage forwarding, the trains, and English biscuits as gifts for our guides, in lieu of tips!

Just the right amount of hand holding whilst still ensuring we could travel independently and not be part of some big coach trip type group.

We made some wonderful core family memories and would highly recommend the team at Holiday Architects!

Many thanks, Paula and family

We’ve just returned from an unforgettable two-week trip to Costa Rica, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. Every hotel we stayed in was absolutely perfect—comfortable, clean, and located in the most beautiful surroundings. The transfers were smooth and hassle-free, which made traveling between destinations so easy.
We were blown away by the wildlife we encountered along the way—toucans, monkeys, sloths, and so much more. Everywhere we went, the people were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the trip feel even more special.
Costa Rica truly exceeded our expectations, and we would love to go back. Highly recommend Dawn at holiday Architects to anyone considering a visit!

This was our first time using Holiday Architects and Catherine organised our trip to Oman. We found her to be very knowledgeable and helpful and everything ran smoothly from start to finish. Catherine designed a flexible programme as well as giving plenty of advice on the country and its customs. We absolutely loved Oman and could not have organised such a great trip ourselves. We wholeheartedly recommend Holiday Architects and would not hesitate in using them again.

My wife and I have just got back from South Africa had a brilliant holiday, and well organized .
The guest house and hotels were Great and a brilliant location in all places.
The last three days was the icing on the cake the ...Safari ...Excellent.
Thanks Catherine for organizing a wonderful holiday, a holiday of a life time that we will always remember.

Huge thank you to Holiday Architects and all their partners on the ground in Namibia for our most memorable holiday ever. From our first contact with Kirsty, the service has been 5-star. She has a passion for Namibia which shows in everything she does and is fully demonstrated in the remarkable itinerary she put together for us. This started with her dogged determination to clear issues we had with the visa applications and continued throughout the holiday with amazing accommodation, mind-blowing excursions showing off the amazing scenery and ticking every box in wildlife spotting. Our guide, Zepe, went above and beyond at all times including making sure that our health issues were fully supported. This truly was the trip of a lifetime and we will not hesitate to use Holiday Architects another time.

Dawn at holiday architects helped us develop the best itinerary for our 18 night trip to Costa Rica. The team on the ground were brilliant and every transfer was on time, all drivers were so good with excellent safe driving skills. Would not hesitate to recommend them for delivering a perfect trip. Thank you

Having used HA for a fabulous family trip to Costa Rica in 2019 we were confident they would be ideal to book our long wished-for trip to tour Japan. Fenton was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in helping us plan our itinerary based on our initial ideas. He made sure to balance ‘holding our hand’ with booking train tickets & guides etc with allowing us the time & freedom to explore the various locations by ourselves. There was ample opportunity in advance to resolve any questions we had and we enjoyed our holiday immensely knowing how to get any support we might need (we didn’t!) while we were in Japan. Thanks to Fenton and Holiday Architects for a tailor-made trip to remember.

Holiday Architects put together a memorable trip for us in Chile and Argentina, covering fantastic desert and mountain landscapes, amazing wildlife and superb places to stay, from comfortable hotels to luxurious estancias. Highlights amongst many were stargazing in the Atacama desert, the iconic Torres del Paine and the Perito Moreno glacier. The Guides on the excursions were excellent and all our internal travel arrangements and connections went smoothly. Would really recommend you try Holiday Architects.

Everything was incredible from initial contact to flying home. Dawn Smith was fabulous and nothing was too much trouble. We went to Peru and had very specific requirements of what we wanted to do whilst we were there - Dawn was able to accommodate everything. As it was a full on agenda the commication with us regarding pick ups everyday was spot on and everyone went over and above to make our stay special and we were definitely treated incredibly well. For example - we had a 2 day boat trip and left most of our luggage at our hotel. Timing was tight as when we got off the boat we then had to go to the airport to catch one of our 7 flights. The representative in peru actually collected our luggage from the hotel to save us time to get to the airport ASAP. WOW. Everything was thought about to make our holiday memorable for all the right reasons. Thank you - we can't wait to book through holiday architects again and would highly recommend you as a holiday agent.

Made a phone call to discuss Morocco and what we like to do on holiday, everything was listened too and the perfect holiday, City, Mountains and beach was created for us by Emma, Great stress free holiday and will definitely use holiday architects again.

We have just returned from an incredible trip to South Africa travelling the Garden Route. I contacted Holiday Architects 2 weeks before our departure date looking for holidays ideas and am so grateful we were put in contact with Lisa. Lisa really understood the type of holiday we were after and pulled together the itinerary (in limited time) which led to us having the most amazing trip.

I cannot recommend South Africa and the Garden Route enough. Incredible scenery, food and people. A particular highlight was staying at the Lalibela Wildlife Reserve.

I will definitely be using Holiday Architects again in the future. They (Lisa!) made booking the trip so easy. The holiday app they provided was so helpful along with the additional information Lisa provided. It really felt like everything had been thought of!

Thank you Lisa!!

Just back from Oman after a great trip put together at short notice , my first with HA.The local guide/driver was excellent and I covered a lot of ground in a fascinating country. The information and support from HA was excellent both before and during the trip .Good communication from Catherine and check in before and after the trip.Only minor observation was that staying at altitude would have provided access to some of the activities hiking etc as opposed to a central base in Nizwa with day trips out.

We were recommended Holiday Architects by friends and I’m so glad we used them! Normally I book independent travel but I didn’t know South Africa at all and had a lot we wanted to do in a short space of time. Catherine created a perfect itinerary for us, judging well how long made sense in each of our 3 locations, finding amazing accommodation, booking perfectly reliable flights and transfers and suggesting a whole host of excellent activities. It took all the hassle out of the trip for me and I would both be keen to return to South Africa again and certainly my would use Holiday Architects again without hesitation. Superb!

Holiday Architects helped us create the perfect itinerary for our recent trip to Japan. We already knew the main places we wanted to visit, but they recommended a couple of other places we'd not ever thought about going to. Those other places turned out to be absolute highlights of our trip. The team's knowledge of Japan based on their own travel experience was incredible!
The attention to detail is impeccable. All of the information we received was so clear and precise and it was great having the Vamoos App to refer to and view our itinerary along with lots of other useful information.
The other App we were given access to for our trip was absolutely brilliant! Every detail for every day was listed, hotel details, directions, train times, trip information, restaurant recommendations, etc etc. The list goes on and on.
Our entire trip was an absolute dream. Everything went so smoothly from the meet and greet at the airport to our final drop off.
The communication with the Holiday Architects team was also faultless. Any query we had in the run up to our trip was quickly answered. They are extremely thorough, very professional and helpful, but beyond that, so lovely, friendly and genuine.
Would use again and absolutely recommend to friends.

Just back from a fortnight in Jordan, expertly organised by Catherine at Holiday Architects, and impeccably supported by HA's in-country agents UTA. It's a fascinating country, and its people were universally welcoming, helpful and patient. HA managed to match their selection of hotels, activities and driver support to our tastes and interests, and were flexible and quick to respond if change was needed. Their advice/survival guide on restaurants, local customs etc was also excellent. They deserve the highest resommendation.

We choose Holiday Architects so we have a chance to work with an expert on an region, who will combine their knowledge with listening to what we enjoy and are hoping to get out of a particular holiday. Paul really delivered on a wonderful trip to Canada for us this autumn. We had a brilliant balance between exploring cities and their culture and architecture, with some great opportunities to see beautiful fall landscapes and eat some amazing food thrown in for good measure. Highly recommended.
