Negligence, dishonesty and lack in basic english
I recently stayed at a property managed by this company, expecting a comfortable and safe environment. Instead, upon arriving late at night after a long day of travel, we were met with an unbearable and dangerous situation. The apartment, which was represented as a hotel, reeked of an intense cigarette and cigar smoke that posed a serious health risk, especially for my heavily pregnant wife and our two-year-old child.
Immediately, I contacted the management via WhatsApp to alert them to the hazardous conditions and to request urgent assistance. Unfortunately, despite sending a video showing that the toilet was also not flushing—a further inconvenience—they only responded with empty promises to “get back to me in a few minutes,” without ever answering their phone.
As time passed and the situation worsened, with temperatures soaring to 41°C outside, we were left with no choice but to stay inside the toxic environment. When I finally asked them for clear guidance, they instructed us to “wait inside,” disregarding the health risks.
At 4 PM, I was told to check out and was assured that I would receive a refund. Following their instruction, I checked out promptly, only to be later informed that no refund was possible. The management’s communication was poor, their English was barely understandable, and their attitude was rude throughout this ordeal.
This level of negligence, dishonesty, and lack of basic respect is unacceptable, especially when vulnerable individuals are involved. Due to their failure to act responsibly or provide proper support, I have reported this company to the authorities. I strongly advise others to think twice before booking through this management.

You made your reservation through Hotels.com. Please note that this property is a short-term rental apartment located in a residential building, not a hotel. We do not work directly with Hotels.com, so we recommend addressing your concern with them regarding how the property is advertised. Unlike hotels, we do not have in-house staff to provide daily cleaning or maintenance services.
Regarding your specific stay: according to the communication with our guest support team, you reported a cigarette smell at 11:00 p.m. on the day of your check-in (for a two-night stay). Our support team immediately forwarded your report to the cleaning and maintenance team, who scheduled a visit for the following day. However, they were unable to enter the apartment because no key had been left in the key safe box. By the next day, you had already checked out.
Please also note that smoking is strictly prohibited in all of our rental apartments. While we cannot be held responsible for cigarette odors left behind by previous guests, our maintenance team additionally checked the building and confirmed that no construction or other activities were taking place that could have caused the smell you described.
About Holidayzer: we are a vacation rental management service. We manage apartments on behalf of their owners, but we do not own the properties ourselves. Our role is to provide front desk support and coordinate cleaning and maintenance services. However, the ultimate responsibility for the apartment’s condition and furnishings lies with each property’s owner.
As a management company, we rely on the cooperation of local staff. While we make every effort to coordinate effectively, responses are not always as immediate or thorough as we—and our guests—would like. We forward guest feedback and urgent issues to property owners, but we cannot compel them to take direct action.
For full transparency and to help future travelers, we encourage you to share your experience directly on the booking platform you used. This allows other guests to make informed decisions and holds property owners accountable through the platform’s review system.
We regret that your stay did not meet your expectations and appreciate your understanding of the limitations of our role as a management service.
