AVOID.

FAULTY DOOR.
COMPANY DOESNT PICK UP OR COME SOLVE THE ISSUE.

Company changed name and moved no longer trading as Home pick. The work to our property was never completed draughts unreal and water also coming in. Having to block up round windows with covers and towels. We paid for front and back door patio doors and windows the front door was never delivered. Believe now trading as home improvement City Limited.

Avoid. Thankfully my bank refunded the deposit as it was covered by their fraud policy. 6 months of stress.

Had windows and doors fitted in Nov 2019; have had a nightmare since. It took 2 years for them to sort some big issues. I was told by them then I needed a new bathroom window….. fever happened. The excuses for the delays were exceptional then they stopped answering the phone. I am now left with widows that are not fit for purpose! With water running down the inside of my windows and windows that I can’t open. I feel we I have been done, we don’t have money to spare and feel let down and humiliated by this mob. Action needs to be taken to close them down

GOT MY WHOLE FLAT DOUBLE GLAZED IN FEBUARY.[2022.].£.3,370.THE 1 ST FROST OF THE YEAR MY ROOM WINDOW CRACKED FROM 1 CORNER TO THE OTHER CORNER..TRIED CONTACTING THEM...3 NUMBERS...NONE OF THEM BEING ANSWERED.....WENT TO THERE PLACE IN BARRHEAD...ITS CLOSED DOWN.....I TEXTED THEM BUT WHEN I ASKED THEM TO CALL ME WHAT I GOT WAS THIS MESSAGE.....[[HI,,THIS IS WINDOWS CITY..I SAW THAT WE MISSED YOUR CALL,,,HOW CAN I HELP YOU....I ASKED THEM TO CALL ME 3 TIMES AND ALL I GOT BACK WAS THE SAME MESSAGE...SO IT SEEMS HOME PICK HAVE WENT TO THE WALL TEN OPENED UP UNDER THE NEW NAME.....WINDOWS CITY.....DONT..I REPEAT DONT USE THEM AS THE 10 YEAR GUARANTEE YOU GET IS NOW VOID AND THE WONT ANSWER CALLS......DONT USE WINDOWS CITY AS THE ARE THE VERY SAME CROOKS WHO RAN HOME PICK...IT SEEMS ONCE THE HAVE TOOK YOUR MONEY THEY CLOSE THE OPERATION AND START A NEW ONE...LEAVING EVERYONE OUT OF POCKET.

Terrible company, avoid at all costs;

New door(s) fitted in Summer 2021 incorrectly with a number of issues, including the fact it is hard to open and a fire hazard. Homepick have made no real attempt to fix the door despite multiple emails and phone call saying they plan too. Its been a horrible experience which has gone on too long and they are now no longer taking my calls or sending updates.

This review is a last resort and something I dont like doing but I feel I have been left with no choice.

Please also note, they dont tell you this, but they use a broker to take your payment which effectively rendors any credit card protection null and void.

Currently seeking legal advice.

This company Home Pick agreed a price of £7500 to replace 7 windows and front and back door as well as a side cupboard door it was also agreed that it would be solid oak finishing on the window frames,
I agreed to pay £1100 as deposit so sent payment, when the company eventually arrived at the door after several times not turning up I got a call to say I should deposit £5000 into their account or the job would not go ahead and the van would drive away I was told it was company policy,
I did feel things were going from bad to worse and felt I was not in a good situation but at the late stage I decided to make the payment after being told on the phone not to worry it would be a good job done, after paying the further £5000 the work started it was shambolic from the start the first 2 windows done and the solid oak frame was split at every corner as the person fitting the windows used large headed 30ml nails in the oak wood and split every part of the frame when I questioned him he said the wood was so hard he had to hit the nails really hard ,
I told him to call his employer who after looking at the pictures I sent he told me to calm down and said they would refit the frames and use glue instead of nails WHAT A SHAMBOLIC COMPANY THIS IS. every window was at least 25ml to small side top and bottom and didn’t fit into the check in the walls nowhere near, they used brackets to secure the windows to the brick but each window has been filled with foam to fill the 25ml gap,
I also ordered windows that would tilt or turn to allow the windows to be cleaned however the windows being fitted did not allow this they all had fixed hinges, when I called The company director and expressed my dismay and anger at the workmanship he arrived at my property and kept saying calm down, he said he will resolve any problems and also said he would add clips to the windows to allow them to tilt and turn, I knew that was not possible unless the hinges were changed, it took the 2 people fitting the 7 windows and one door 5 days from 9.00 am until 8 pm each day, on the Thursday the fitters took the back door out first thing in the morning and didn’t fit the new back door until 5 o’clock later that day the front window was also taken out at about one o’clock it was November and totally freezing I have Crohns and lupus and also rheumatoid arthritis not a good situation to be sitting freezing ,
They could not fit the 2nd door ie front door as they didn’t have a centre panel to fit the door they only had the frame they said when they got a grey centre panel they would come back and fit the door, the guy’s couldn’t apologise enough and I know they felt bad about the whole situation, when they left on the Friday I called the company and told them not to come back as I would be going to the small claims court as soon as possible, my house was left in a total mess every room, the employees didn’t have a hoover they said they have never had a hoover in the van and they had to borrow a ladder from me and also had to borrow an extension cable as they were not supplied with them they said, the guys fitting the windows were nice boys they were getting paid a very low wage as I did discuss this with them I think they were paid cash in hand the way they were talking, however they were not qualified as far as I am concerned to do the job they did say they had never fitted solid oak frames on any job before mine , I should say they did feel bad about the situation and agreed the windows were not measured properly and that’s why they did not fit near the check in the wall, they told me the company get lots of complaints, I have taken this company to the small claims court and claimed the maximum allowed through small claims court £5000 and have been awarded the full amount at Dunfermline Sheriffs Court and now in the process of Sheriffs Officers reclaiming the £5000 payment, so Home Pick now has a County Court Judgment against them, my advice to all other potential customers is THINK REALLY HARD BEFORE GIVING A PENNY TO THIS COMPANY read this review fully it is all true this company is shocking, I was so happy to finally get the windows and doors replaced until I employed the company from HELL , they will tel you lies on the phone they will say whatever they can to take your money DONT ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN get a good reputable company, I wish I had read the reviews on trust-pilot about this company as I would never had nothing to do with them, they have great reviews on their website but it’s easy to fix your reviews if they are not on an independent site, STAY CLEAR OF THESE COWBOYS PLEASE GET A REPUTABLE COMPANY it is demoralising after waiting so long to get the windows and doors fitted , you don’t have much faith in any company after going through hell with one like Home Pick but at least this review might help to stop other people going through the same situation HOME PICK is a company to stay well clear of .

Got 6 windows replaced, 1 was an enormous bedroom window and 1 veranda door ... wait time was advised and was correct, shan was amazing at advising us as first time home owners what the legislations and best designs were for our property and for what I needed. The price was extremely reasonable and I had several quotes but due to shan not being pushy and for also being a genuine lovely person I went with home pick. I could not be happier with the end result, I was kept informed each step of the way, Michelle was great at keeping me informed and was very helpful any time we asked for advice. On the day of arrival the fitters came as arranged, they covered everything up and got straight to work. Very clean tidy workers and the end results and finishes were so clean ... my windows were over 25 years old I'm sure and for an old property the repair work we have to do is extremely minimum which I am surprised at. I have old misted blown windows and you could literally hear the wind through them, not now their silent and I can see out of them. Don't let previous reviews put you off have faith like I did as you won't be disappointed, thanks so much to all at home pick and I have already reccomended yourself to several people 😊 5* service and worth the wait x

I used this company before and they did a good job. My experience this time dreadful. Originally wrong colour of door arrived with correct handle. Waited 8 weeks for replacement door and fan light. Correct door, wrong handle and fan light fitted. Shan came to my property when this was being fitted and I did not see door or fan light until after he had collected the remaining balance or I would not have paid. I called them as yet not had any calls back. When I called firstly about this receptionist was too say the least rude. I tried to explain that when I ordered the door, I asked for same door and handle that was fitted in my old property. This was not included in the paperwork was the explanation I was given. I also explained when wrong coloured door was delivered it came with the handle I wanted. Receptionist told me I was a liar. I was also told that when ordering the door I said the handle I wanted was too expensive so didn't order it. This is not the case as when ordering door I told Shan that my neighbours admired the door and handle so wanted the same. I spoke to fitter and he confirmed that I was correct when door was 1st delivered it came with the handle I wanted. He also told me about the amount of complaints they receive about botched orders. I await response from Home Picks and will not be recommending them based upon experience and the extremely poor customer service. Very disappointed in the look of door and fan light

Have been waiting now eight months to have our remedial work completed! After waiting in two days in a row! Yet again they haven’t turned up!? Called the office and no reply ! Called Shan - straight to voice Mail

Disgrace from start to Finnish lies and lies and more lies from Shan the owner ! Fitters are a disgrace Finnish is the standard expected of a untrained person . Now 9 month since ordered and still not completed 16 visits to my property and still waiting . Damaged doors windows and trims all scratched . And smashed window .
21-09-20221 still waiting on response from shan he does not take calls or answer letter . Onto the court soon i suspect . Faulty windows damaged door trim and a Finnish that suggest unskilled fitters .

Expensive coloured door damaged on installation. Door side panel sealant separated. If you like me have wasted months trying to get this incompetent lot to carry out remedial work, try this. RAL coloured spray paint available to purchase from uPVC Paints in Cheshire,and touch up pens available on Amazon. RAL coloured sealant available from AB Building Products, Andover. All great customer service unlike Home-Pick - £60 in total spent and its put my door right. RAL corresponding numbers are shown on brochures / orders. Colour matches are absolutely spot on. Don't waste your money buying coloured doors from Home-Pick unless you want scratched / damaged overpriced ones and poor quality installation. Maybe even buy a white one and consider painting it to the colour you want yourself for around £100. Beats the additional £300 charged by Home-Pick.

If the wind is howling through your expensive, top quality expertly installed door, check the external panel at the bottom - ours had no expanding foam behind it below the door frame. Easy to fix with a visit to B&Q!! Another £12.

All these and other customer similar issues should drive cowboy companies like this one out the game.

If you are thinking of replacing a UPVC door give some thought to going down the purchase yourself route buying a door from a reputable supplier B&Q, Wickes etc and either get a joiner to fit it or DIY.

it just couldn't be any worse than the way these guys install.

Just had my new window and doors put in yesterday. what can I say these guys worked so hard all day the even had covers to put over furniture hovered up the mess from taken out the old windows. I would recommend this company any day

We have just had a beautiful composite door fitted today, from ordering it and the fitting of it the company are first class to deal with, the installation team are very professional at their job and I would highly recommend this company

Just had our 8 windows replaced and we are very happy with the quality of the job done by brothers Jim and stevie.the guys prepared the job well with dust sheets everywhere, can't believe the job the guys did, very meticulous to fine detail and the wi dows look great the guys worked tirelessly all day,all I can say is I would recommend home pick to all,all rubbish was cleared away and the job was left spotless, cheers again stevie and Jim and homesick.defo recommend this company. 😀

They came to fit windows and doors for us...we left them a bad review in teust pilot...workers not turning up, workers being sick outside the house, brand new windows left outside for 3 days, the list is endless. When I reviewed on trust pilot, the owner then called and threatened to void our warranty!! Our front door has never been right, now we can barely lock it. I have 2 kids in this house! The owner is now telling us he will NOT come and rectify the job based on an honest review I left on trust pilot!!
Please avoid this company at all costs. We have been in touch with trading standards.i have video evidence of call with the owner shan, stating very clearly he will not rectify work, get in touch and i can send it, its not letting me add it to this review. I am also awaiting to hear back from Councillor and our local paper. Complete and utter shambles of a company!!

I got my doors and windows done by homepick.team of boys came on time and did an absolute brilliant job.happy to recommend

AVOID. Home Pick took my deposit in October '21 for a March fitting (8-12 week lead time). They were almost impossible to contact thereafter. In February they said my windows were on order; they were not. The manufacturer confirmed no order had been taken and requested a refund on my behalf; nothing. I formally requested my refund; still nothing. After raising legal action and the manufacturer pressuring them to, they finally refunded my money minus £300 that they are charging for a ½ hour survey. P.S. They suggested using MDF for my sills.

Just had all my windows and doors installed by HOMEPICK ....Firstly there was no pushy salesmen to deal with who would spend hrs in your home trying to close a deal .....Shan arrived and let myself and my wife browse through the design brochure's while he took a quick survey of the property and then gave us the best price available which i may add was a lot cheaper than any quote i had been given by other companies ... it only took about 25mins ... we paid an initial deposit ............we were then given a date for installation BY Michelle which was the 15th and 16th of march the fitting team arrived promptly Jamie Shaun and Mick i did have a query on day one Shan dealt with this immediately and the Joiner (Jamie ) was first class at explaining in detail how the job would progress ... after that all installation work went very well and the team of fitters were keeping us update on progress ..when nearing completion Jamie actually took time out to walk round every part of the installation with us to see if we were were happy with it on day two the fitting team again arrived promptly and completed the installation again Jamie asked us to check everything was to our total satisfaction and only then were we asked to make the final payment .....i must say the fitting team were all polite and excellent workers who were continually tidying up as they went a quick 5min hoover and the house was back as it was previously we then had a further courtesy call from Shan and then Michelle to ensure everything was to our satisfaction ..I would definitely recommend the team at home pick to install your windows and doors
great price ,no pushy salesman... an excellent team of fitters who go that extra mile to get the job done to your satisfaction
