Humana OTC products are a joke
Humana OTC products are a joke. All the negative reviews already here say it all.
CenterWell Pharmacy, a Humana Company, is Awful!
CenterWell Pharmacy is part If Humana Healthcare Insurance. For members, Humana pressures customers to use them. They keep pushing you via voicemail, text and email to transfer all your prescriptions to them. They are relentless. If CenterWell Pharmacy was a good services provider, that would be ideal, but they are are substandard at best. Additionally, their prices are usually the same as retail pharmacies, so rarely do you see a cost savings benefit. This is just another example of healthcare insurers trying to profit from customers over and over again but not to our benefit.
My biggest issues have been:
1) They tout they actually process “100 day” refills usually a week before due for refill to account for mail order shipping. All too often they don’t build in that buffer so refills arrive late, not early.
2) Steer clear of ordering any prescription from them that can only be refilled every 30 days. They are wholly incapable of managing that level of responsiveness. Don’t believe anything they say, as you will be the only one who suffers the consequences.
3) Customer Service will confirm a processing date to ensure tinely delivery only to have it, many times, be a week later, when you are all out of meds.
4) The Centerwell Pharmacy user platform is a joke. They information is never current. You’ll receive a text confirming your auto refills are being processed, but when you check online, no confirmation of that shows. It is so unreliable, the only way to check what is real, is to call Cust Svc, and they aren’t even sure or right with the info they give you.
If you are stuck with Humana and CenterWell Pharmacy, as I am, my best suggestion is to get as many refills as possible locally vs. their mail order, if pricing is the same, which it usually is. Walgreens, CVS, etc can usually get a med refilled same day or next. CenterWell will take a minimum of 5-7 days, so there is no room for error. Good luck!
Worst Selection of OTC Items
The selection of Humana's over-the-counter items 2026 are not worth looking through. I cannot believe they don't even have dental picks, skin lotion, toothpaste is $4.00 for what I can get at Dollar General for $1.00, and there's nothing else I can use. It's a total scam. Here I am paying for this insurance. A few years ago, another health provider gave customers $160 every 3 months and they had items and brands people wanted. I think Humana should discontinue this lousy selection. They'd be better off not offering anything. It's just another way to entice customers for their own greed.
THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER
THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE! I called with a very straightforward issue and got told they were trying to escalate the matter. No they weren't they were trying to wait me out in the hopes I would hang up. NOPE. YOU ARE GOING TO MANAGE THIS PROBLEM.
Many of the OTC products are off brand…
Many of the OTC products are off brand and too expensive. The selections are horrible and need to be updated with better choices. We would be better off if Humana would let us order elsewhere.
Trying to get approved for a specialty…
Trying to get approved for a specialty drug. They approved the drug but not the dosage. They have been paying for it for the last 4 months. Suddenly they say the dosage is too high. Cs people could care less about the problem, supervisors are worse.
Seniors deserve better!
Thank you all for previous comments!! I am new to Humana this year and I have just reviewed the OTC list of products for 2026. So very little to choose from and descriptions are so vague, not to mention the "Compare List" tells me almost nothing. So very disappointed in this so-called benefit. As seniors, we deserve better choices for our needs!
First experience. Worst experience
Ordered over the counter items over a week ago, took four days just to acknowledge the order was being processed and now the days later and still haven't received the shipment. I was unimpressed with the very limited selection of items available and all appears to be off brand, cheap items so doesn't even make the quarterly money I receive work it at all. Others I have had allow me to shop at drug stores. Of this is how they handle OTC shipments, I sure as hell am not allowing them to process my necessary meds. Just another way to screw seniors out of benefits we long ago earned.
Worst Experience ever
Worst Experience ever. Still waiting to get specialty script approved and filled after 6 weeks! Would highly recommend a different RX plan for Medicare!
The OTC allowance is awful.
The OTC allowance is awful. Most items are off brand cheap things a healthy senior won't use. No decent toothbrushes, skin care, vitamins, collagen, or anything else useful. Very bad.
Terrible service on a 90 day supply of medication…
Ordered a 90 day supply of medication to save money. They took my money through After Pay and I never heard anything more until I called looking for my prescription. Was told they had not received payment, however my bank showed they had received payment the day of the order. Center well uses After Pay yet they have no records of funds received by After Pay. I spent over 2 hours on the phone with them getting the run around.
Do NOT ever use them for anything. You will just get passed around a circle on the phone. If I could give them 0 stars I would.
The OTC option is a joke
The OTC option is a joke. You have to order on line and the item is shipped. You'll receive your order in about 4 days to a week.
Humana Centerwell otc incompetent reckless employees processing orders
Humana Centerwell otc for orders is about bad as it can get the worst of the worst the shipping label didn't have my apartment number on the package and it was delivered to another tenant apartment even though FedEx smartpost delivery driver saw that it didn't have a apartment number on it he went on ahead and sat the package by another tenants door anyway, and I live at 120 unit apartment complex and I had to walk around the apartment complex looking for the package by other tenants doors and luckily I was able to find it, I called centerwell otc and told the representative to make sure that my apartment address is in the system correctly on my packages being shipped and she told me that she wasn't able to make changes or see my address even though I've been using my physical address all alone to have my package from centerwell shipped with my apartment number listed on the packages, the representative was extremely rude & nasty and difficult to talk with a very unprofessional woman and she kept telling me to call FedEx and have them to straighten my address out when its not my responsibility to contact FedEx to straighten my address out its centerwell otc responsibility to straighten out the address glitch/ mistake that they made and it's not FedEx responsibility to straighten out centerwell otc incompetent employees mistake, this is the first time something like this has ever happened besides centerwell sending me the wrong products and once another customers order and centerwell otc has removed my apartment number from my address so how would FedEx know who apartment to deliver the package to, this is very alarming for a pharmacy company to deliver my packages without the full address information that's already on their files/system this is invasion of privacy of medical supplies being delivered with missing address information and extremely unprofessional and lack of concern on centerwell customers service otc employees department or who's ever handling the packages and shipping labels with the address listed because that's medical supplies and personal information being delivered so they should make sure that the address is correct to keep packages from getting in the wrong hands not intended for
Customer service and reliability sucks
All I ordered was an OTC product but a necessary one just the same. Ordered it on Dec 24th. FedEx did not recieve shipping instructions until Jan 7 of the following year! Subsequently it is now the 10th of January and still no product. And Humana wants me to use them for my prescriptions!! LMAO!!! I’d be dead waiting for them to arrive or not, who would know? So yeah if it weren’t for the $25 a month to spend there on OTC products, I certainly wouldn’t be bothered with the outfit!!
Avoid Centerwell Pharmacy . Life is too short
I have Centerwell Pharmacy since I signed up for Medicare with Humana . 10 years. The pharmacy is really difficult to deal with. They cancel my prescriptions all the time. When you get through on the phone, ( nearly impossible) usually they don't know why it was cancelled. Also, If you are filling a script close to year end, regardless of the number of refills, they cancel your script. Reason? Because they want to make sure you have coverage in January. Its a real headache going back to the doctor over and over. Just spent 1:50 minutes to find out they could not fill my order because they needed " clarification" from my DR and the DR isnt getting back to them. Turns out, they had the wrong number. Its just chaos there. Choose anybody else.
If i could rate Centerwell pharmacy, it would be a ZERO!
If i could rate Centerwell pharmacy zero stars I would! I spent 2 hours on the phone, was transferred 4 times, just to find out which prescriptions were covered and how much they would be, and still didn't get the answers I needed. I couldn't understand them, and didn't get any answers, can't imagine what the ordering would be like! I finally hung up, useless people! bring the call centers back to America!!!!
Humana's CenterWell pharmacy incompetence…
Humana's CenterWell pharmacy benefits for OTC are decreasing rapidly and even when you do order and have to wait 7 to 14 days for delivery day use a delivery service that will leave it on the sidewalk in front of your house and sometimes not at all as today. When you try to call Customer Service it's over a 10 minute wait and when they finally answer they have representatives that are asking you are you calling for Humana CenterWell pharmacy which is the only number that you're calling and then when you engage about non-delivery they immediately transfer you to another department for a total of 20 minutes wasted
CWSP is a joke
Working with or receiving care from CenterWell Specialty Pharmacy has been a frustrating experience on multiple levels. The company operates with a noticeable lack of professionalism, both in how they treat their employees and how they handle patients. Leadership often seems disconnected, unresponsive, and more focused on metrics than on people — which creates a toxic and disorganized environment.
Employees are overworked, under-supported, and rarely acknowledged for their efforts. There’s little to no genuine communication or transparency from management, and feedback is often ignored. The culture feels inconsistent and reactive rather than intentional, making it difficult for staff to do their jobs effectively or feel valued.
From the patient side, delays, miscommunication, and a lack of empathy are common. Leadership doesn’t seem to prioritize patient experience or employee well-being, which ultimately affects the quality of care provided.
Overall, CenterWell Specialty Pharmacy has tremendous potential but is held back by poor leadership, low morale, and a lack of accountability. Until leadership truly invests in their people and processes, both employees and patients will continue to suffer the consequences.
Centerwell; badly managed
Medicare Part D signup is near. Whatever you do, do not choose Centerwell/Humana. Customer service is awful. They notify you that a Rx will be shipped on a certain date and then tell you that you cancelled the order. They take a long time to fill orders advising you that the pharmacist is filling your order-and they are not. Better alternatives than this badly managed organization
Horrible shipping experience and jacked up prices
I have Humana Medicare Advantage. I get a measly $50 in OTC products every quarter, it used to be a debit card I could use at retail stores. This year they took away the card and I am forced to use Centerwell. Prices for products are several times higher than at most retail stores, and shipping has gotten steadily worse. My most recent order has been sitting in one place for a week because they used the cheapest FedEx shipping option. If Humana ever says I have to get my rx meds through Centerwell I will change my insurance plan.
