Hi there
Thanks for leaving us some feedback, we appreciate it.
We are a 24-hour gym in Doncaster, but due to there being less staff on duty throughout the night, areas which are not covered by CCTV are closed t for the safety of our members (i.e. the main changing rooms and saunas).
We do however leave the accessible changing room open at all times, as well as there being lockers for you to use. If you need to get changed or grab a shower during the night, that option is there for you and you'll have complete privacy in there.

Some gym equipment is not in use.
Some gym equipment is not in use and so many kids under the age of 16 in the gym. Most staff is no where to be seen and lot of people just sit down and on the phone which is really annoying.

Going downhill
Amazing gym when opened and I have been a member since then. Initially there were very helpful PT’s who maintained gym etiquette/discipline, cleanliness was great, etc
Now the complete opposite. There has been no new equipment since the gym opened therefore much is getting very tired. Simple repairs take far too long. The equipment is subject to extremely high use, probably compared to most other JD Gyms therefore it should be maintained and replaced more frequently. I have handed in multiple cable attachments which are dangerously worn, evidencing either a lack of maintenance, or ‘tick box’ checks.
PT’s - due to they their contract generally do not care, apart from their clients. I have not seen one PT ask a member to re-rack weights or pick up their litter for years.
Cleanliness - this is a major concern and I’m sure if the local authority visited at certain times the gym would be closed. The male changing room and toilets should be cleaned hourly during peak times. They can be absolutely disgusting. Cleans overnight are frequently missed.
JD are happy to take money from members but only do the bare minimum in return. Considering the quantity of members at this particular gym, JD should be doing more for them. JD will probably think that the gym itself attracts so many members because it is a good gym, but unfortunately I suspect this to be mainly due to its location.
I have spoken with managers of the gym over the phone and in person. The consistent message is that they try but nothing happens above them.
A recent power outage was the final nail in the coffin. Power was off for approximately 10 hours throughout the day this week. Members were only to find out of this after travelling to the gym, as JD did not think to put messages out on social media, via email, or through their app.
I’m now looking to join another gym.

Always they got a problem with shower cabins, sauna and many training machines always out of order and looks nobody don't want to fix this. For 30 pound per month can be and better. Unfortunately but I thinking choosing another gym and it's not be JD

It’s really sad that there isn’t another gym around my area. JD Gym is the worst gym I’ve ever seen in my life. It’s always dirty, and many of the machines are often not working. Most of the equipment is from the 90s and constantly causes problems. The locker rooms are often overflowing with trash, and nobody takes care of it. It’s a complete disaster...

Stolen bag
My son's bag, which contained all of his school supplies, was stolen from his locker while he was working out at the gym. I wonder how a gym this size can lack lockers with keys. The thief opened the locker, stole the bag, and left. The reception staff saw nothing and refused to provide CCTV footage.

Disappointed
Equipment and changing rooms all ok . Unfortunately every time I ask about the sauna being out of order I get different answers ( usually rubbish) although I am still paying for something I cannot use , definitely need someone to be honest will it ever be working again if not I can take myself and my money elsewhere.

A good gym however a few machines are out of order in the cardio section and at busy times it's hard to use the desired machinery as it is often occupied.

Staff do undertake regular maintenance checks and work hard with our equipment providers to ensure that our equipment is fixed as soon as possible, if any should be broken. We are equally as disappointed when this happens and sometimes need to wait on engineers but will have all equipment in full working order as soon as is safely possible.
Alternatively please do not hesitate in picking the brains of our Personal Trainers in Doncaster as they will no doubt have a weird/wonderful alternative for you if some equipment is out of action Keeping you on track to smash your goals💪 The JD Gyms Team 💚
Terrible smell in sauna and changing rooms
The equipment is good but the car park situation is ridiculous. The men's changing rooms and sauna smell very bad and are not clean.

I used the men sauna and it was terible experience, dirty, rubish on the floor, fag ends, leak from ceiling and the water was not draining.

This is the second time I’ve join JD Gym.
This is the second time I’ve join JD Gyms. The first time was when it open with all new shiny equipment.
I’ve rejoined due to JD Gyms is closer for me and easier to get to. I have found that the equipment dirty and a bit all over the place. The dumb bell rack mixed up and missing or damaged.
The attachment for the cable machines are damaged & a bit of a mix match and have made me go and buy my own handles to use.
The gym it’s self has gone down in merit in my opinion but for the hours I spend working out and location for me it’s ok but could be better.

We work closely with our equipment suppliers to ensure we provide the latest, safest and "sturdy" equipment in each of our gyms. Our teams in the gyms complete regular equipment checks also to ensure any wear and tare is maintained or logged to be repaired where necessary. Stop cutting popular gym classes !
Shocked and saddened to hear that we are losing some fabulous classes at JD Gym Doncaster
Spin classes and body attack classes all going in the name of cost cutting ! No classes on a Sunday at all !
Mark Sands classes are some of the best and most popular classes at JD Doncaster.
Some people only subscribe because of his classes
I think JD should have a re think before people start to look else where for their weekend classes

good equipment and classes, good that it’s 24 hours. however after a recent price increase it’s a shame that the locker rooms still aren’t 24/7 and that you can only go once a day. the gym is also extremely busy and often you can’t use the machines you want to use because they’re taken.

We’re afraid it's true, our gyms are very popular and can become busy especially at peak times, but this does fluctuate at different times of the day and night. To make the most of the space where possible, though, we are always looking to expand and improve our facilities
If training multiple times per day is something you do regularly, please speak to the Manager next time you visit, and they can help. Or drop your gym an email if you can’t see a Manager to speak to 👍 .

Gym itself is really good but…
Gym itself is really good, the big downside is male bathroom/toilet, smells horrible and it is very messy state most of the time. Maybe some air fresheners and bleach used on regular basis? Also, containers with soap are empty most of the time… Clearly, poor control and management of that aspect.
