The APP: Password recovery doesn't work. i tried many times, different emails and nothing.

I have been going to the classes for a while. They are always full of energy and fun. Big shout out to Kinden and Georgia. They make the classes very welcoming if you feel a bit unsure about going to the them. They are always there to help and guide you as well as encouraging you to get your best workout.
I've also had PT with Kinden, always pushing and encouraging you to do your best.

What fantastic staff we have at JD Hartlepool.
Christmas Eve circuit with the staff what a fabulous morning as ever.
Kinden, Georgia and Kerry Ann always provide well thought out different classes throughout the year but they need a massive shout out today.

Excellent gym and love the variety of classes. I work shifts and never managed to stick to a gym as much as I have JD can nearly alway find a class around my shifts. PT’s who run the classes are brilliant and very approachable and welcoming. Georgia and Kindin are both amazing and love their classes. I have just finished the Christmas Eve circuits class and it was so much fun and these two definitely go the extra mile for their customers

Plenty of space and machinery/ free weights. Clean and everyone seems friendly enough.

Only issues would be some of the machineries info stickers being worn/ missing

Very helpful, great experience and environment and very clean, staff are amazing and very friendly always wanting a chat, equipment is always spot on

I've been coming for around 6 weeks now, been doing the weights and a few classes
Recently I've been doing a lot of the classes, Georgia is great, and the last 2 classes have been with Kinden. What a pleasure to do a class with Kinden, his energy throughout the class is amazing. He makes me smile and laugh throughout

He should do more classes, but maybe not at 6 in the morning. I'm an early riser, but not that early 😂

I can't fault any of the equipment, the cleanliness of the gym

Just a little off putting sometimes with the big groups of teenagers that aren't actually there for anything other than to hang out

But overall, very happy 😊

Cancelled my membership as the place was full of underage kids vaping in the change room , broken lockers , and far too busy .
I was billed over a month after cancelling
I complained and asked for a refund which I am still waiting for 20 days later ,
They make it so difficult to cancel so they can charge you again . If you cancel your membership please CANCEL YOUR DIRECT DEBIT AT THE BANK TOO .

Wanted to pause my membership after repeated disruption to the yoga classes - such as turning up to be told a class wasn't running but the website had not been updated - bear in mind you have to pay for parking, not to mention the inconvenience. Was told I needed 2 weeks notice to suspend my membership (I should have just cancelled my direct debit tbh) even though I had patiently waited in the hope that the classes would be sorted but this didn't happen.
I emailed customer services several times asking for flexibility as the ongoing disruption was not my fault and wasn't working for me. Cutting a long story short, JD will not be flexible so I've cancelled. There are cheaper, more flexible options in Hartlepool where you don't have to pay for parking.
Oh & now I'm being bombarded with emails asking me to rejoin!!!

I signed up for a membership and made the payment on Sunday, the 14th. I downloaded the app, which is required to generate a code for gym access, but it wouldn't work. I called the helpline repeatedly, but no one ever answered despite trying for 9 days. Finally, on Tuesday, the 24th, we went to the gym in person. The staff informed us that the app only works when connected to their internet. After 15 minutes of troubleshooting, they finally got the app to work, and we were able to access the gym. However, we effectively lost 10 days of access that we had already paid for.

Majority of staff are decent people.

Standards of hygiene need to drastically improve!

Spray and wipes taken away - clearly more interested in cost base than member satisfaction. Raised with a staff member the reply was this was a covid measure we do not need to do this now.

Not acceptable to go to a machine and find it covered in sweat off the last user, too many people with no awareness about personal hygiene.

we will all have to start bringing our own jet wash in to clean the machines down before long, manager does not care.

Really enjoyed going

Have been a member of JD gym Hartlepool for some 16 months now and have nothing but praise for the gym equipment, fitness classes and instructors.
The only negative is some teenagers (some look younger than 16!) who have there i phones on in the changing rooms taking photos/filming themselves and friends. This could lead to a confrontation as people do not want to possibly see images of themselves on social media sites!!
Suggest checks by gym staff (after school hours) to determine age of some of the kids also clear signage within the gym prohibiting use i phones for photos/ filming in changing rooms!!

Great gym but not free parking which means I’m paying double to go to the gym.

i have just cancelled my membership for jd gyms in Hartlepool it is very unsafe and staf show very little care in the up keep of the equipment its always a mess i am a wheelchair user and whilst they have the phasility to accommodate me the the shower room on the gym floor is not using a key system you can open the door with a 5p coin even if locked from the inside and both the shower seat and railing have came out of the wall they did put it back but i wouldn't use it thankfully they have one in the mens that does use a radar key but they do not care if you go or not they also put people at risk who have epileptic fits as when i went to cancel the lift light was strobing that alone would stop people coming in the gym do not use this gym especially if you have a disability go elsewhere as i will be

Recently converted from a Xercise4Less gym in Hartlepool town centre.

Good; Some new equipment, a lot more benches, fresh look (freshly decorated, to be expected though!), varied weights - 2kg-50kg dumbbells in 2kg increments and 5kg-25kg plates in 5kg jumps including 1.25kg and 2.5kg plates, plenty of barbells available including variety such as hex bars, trap bars, olympic bars etc. 24/7 gym!

Bad; No free parking close by if you drive to gym (the gym used to have permit bays and would give out something to put on your dash while your in the gym), have to pay unless you visit outside the hours of 8am-3pm. Changing rooms have only had a lick of paint, nothing else (comparing to when it was X4L). Cleanliness isn't always at the best - cleaner is rarely seen morning time, last/old cleaner was always about and always up for a bit of banter among gym members, unsure why she was let go - maybe retirement. Could do with more weight plates - not enough for the bench press area, espically if all 4 flat benches are in use. Staff availability if you need them are far and few between - maybe 1 or 2 about at a time if lucky - 1 will usually be a PT with a client. Cardio machines are all cramped in next to each other now. Air con/heating is barely noticeable now so its either too cold in the winter or too hot in the summer. Windows are all boarded up inside so no natural lighting or ability to open windows anymore baring the entrance. No tvs about now with random shows on - can't watch 'you've been framed' while on the treadmills on a morning xD

Overall, it is a good gym to get what you need , but there is 100% room for improvement at the Hartlepool JD Gym.

I have only recently joined the gym. The facilities are great with plenty of equipment. The classes are great and really enjoyed the few I've taken part in so far and lots I'm looking forward to doing next week. When I came to the gym to look around the manager showed me around and answered all the questions I had, very friendly and full of smiles. I have spoken to other staff when I've had questions and they have been so helpful. Everyone is just so friendly which made me feel comfortable.

Only down side is if I come during the day which I will sometimes is that i have to pay for parking

Not a bad Gym but paying an extra £1 a session for parking adds up to another £20 a month is a bit much when other gyms in Hartlepool have free parking and £20 a month fee.
