Body combat
I absolutely love the body combat classes, I’ve been going for about a year now and Eleanor and Olgas Monday, Wednesday Saturday and Sunday classes are phenomenal. High energy classes, really motivating, easier options if needed for all age groups. Tuesday class is slightly slower and is meant to be 45 minutes but ends up being just shy of 30 minutes. All in all if you are looking for a motivating and fun class I recommend Eleanor and Olga.

Drop in visit at JD Gym Preston location
I was visiting my Family in Preston and tried JD Gym Preston location on the recommendation of my Niece.
The gym was awesome. I needed to do some specific training with my son for his sprint training and the gym had everything we needed and more.
The equipment was in good working order, there was space and it wasn't too crowded and the facilities were clean.
The staff were also very friendly and very accommodating to our needs.
Highly recommend this place

The best gym in Preston, management staff are polite and exceptionally helpful. If anyone's looking for a gym for beginners or thinking of changing from their current gym, then come to JD Preston 5 stars all day, Chris the manager is always about to help ans point you in the right direction.

Been going to JD for a few years now…
Been going to JD for a few years now and it’s really gone downhill. Old tired equipment that really needs updating. For the price of the membership and the amount of people that go, Money should be getting spent on updating the equipment and facilities. I will be cancelling my membership unfortunately and going somewhere that’s modern and up to date for a cheaper price.

A really good Gym layout, im an early bird so having the locker rooms open at 5am is spot on and in the last 12 months ive completely transformed my body and mind in this place 👌

The staff not that helpful not all of…
The staff not that helpful not all of them some of them . Once , I needed a help from the staff and i told her to help me in this machine because i did not know how to use it she told me i can not help you i will message another one from the staff i told her alright then i was waiting more than one hour and know one helped me so i just asked a random girl at the gym and she helped me . That’s all .

Recent upgrade went really well and Head Office staff super helpful over the phone.
The gym is good but could do with just a couple more machines as there can be a bit of waiting around to use certain ones during the busy period after work.
Also lovely changing rooms.
Staff are really good and that's why I bumped up to 5 stars.

New manager , new challenges
Wow 🤩 new manager Chris made a huge impression today , fantastic team player , looks like he is going to be customer focused. .Due to holidays ,illness and some of the team changing roles or leaving he still did an amazing circuit training followed by Abs for the lunchtime lovelies who had already lost three lunches per week . This keeps regulars happy . I think this guy is a real good choice to get Preston JD back on track how it was a few months ago :) Jo Reeder

Good gym with decent equipment
Good gym with decent equipment. Unfortunately on many occasions both early day and evening time varying times not the same to be honest, but extremely busy just feels like the gym is over subscribed. On a few occasions my wife myself and my daughter went, only to find one or two pieces of equipment available to use just way too busy.
Staff are fine, facilities fine, just seems to be over subscribed. Time to find another gym.

MANAGEMENT CHANGES
In Preston we have had a lot of changes within management in a very short time, I have been a member for several years now and usually go 6 days out of 7 I only do the spin class due to age and ability.
I would like to say a big thank you to Lucy and Chris who have been keeping things running under difficult circumstances, hopefully decisions will be made very soon for long term stability.

Enjoy your burn classes at lunch time, it's good for all abilities young or old, excellent instructor today so helpful to everyone. I had a chat with the manager Chris today, always a smile he hisexcellent extremely good manager. He listens to what you have to say.hope we can have him permanent. Always so clean, good equipment, excellent PTs all very pleasant, nice the staff door is open

Great friendly staff
Great friendly staff, loads of equipment, kept clean, easy access 24/7. Timing when managing payments is a bit tricky if you want to pause or cancel for any reason - it has to be submitted and approved and there is a fairly early cut-off to avoid your next payment, but the gym experience has been good

The Rig , Really Isn’t Great
Come on JD what’s going on , lunchtimes burn and abs mon to fri were going well until you changed mon and wed to the RIG . My reviews might have mentioned it “ Really Isn’t Great “ and now it’s shown that . Numbers dropped because people didn’t like where it was . Xfit and engine would have been more successful if left in the studio . The Rig felt like a show case by the big window .on a small Cat Walk area used for ropes and sledge pushing . Customers that used the Rig for personal work outs at lunchtimes couldn’t use it anymore .
.14 people turned up the first Monday then started dropping out because It became unsafe with the equipment and unfair having to move for people . These classes are only 30 mins . To cap it all , lunch times have now dropped from 5 lunches to just two , Abs that followed on Monday Tuesday and Wednesday have gone completely. We are told lack of staff or people no longer attending . Burn which was successful were Tuesday / Thursday in the studio, now Tuesday is Xfit
The use of the RIG was supposed to bring more income ( which I guess some JD gyms might need but not Preston) .
Office workers that prefer classes to doing it alone came in their lunch breaks We pay our monthly memberships like everyone else so why ruin it ?
BRING BACK DANNY
He knows his customers , listens to what they want , he had a great team of coaches who are moving on since he left , this particular gym was known for looking after all customers whether fat , thin , young old and people with disabilities.
The pencil pushers that change these rules need to get on the shop floor and see how it works for their customers and realise successful classes don’t need changing in every gym . A manager is in that position to make that happen ,but at the moment it seems they haven’t got the right to change what comes from Head office , hope this is sorted soon , regards Jo Reeder
