Best gym I've been to

My 5 star review goes to Clare - the only female Calisthenics coach on Essex and a world champ. After losing some gym motivation, I started PT sessions with Clare. 3 years on I still regularly attend the gym along with so many new Calisthenics friends. Not only has she built a supportive community at JD, she has pushed me to compete in some Cali comps. Couldn’t recommend her enough. The gym itself is fully equipped for Cali workouts with rings and lots of bars. It also has lots of weights, squat racks. The only equipment missing is a Bosu Ball. Always clean and tidy. The lady cleaner is very passionate!

I just wanted to leave a review about the PT I have used at this gym. Rob Camp is a great PT that is great to work with. He is friendly and really knows his stuff and I can’t thank him enough for my results.

Love this gym ! Plenty of equipment, parking spaces, classes that you don't have to book in advance, unlike a lot of gyms. They even have a Ladies only section. Also, they have a Calisthenics area and a weekly class which is such a bonus. You can get PT sessions to improve your Calix skills and meet some great people in the process !

Clare is an amazing PT her calisthenics classes are super fun and she's amazing at what she does

Best gym around, great team and equipment. Like to shout out to Rob also where JD is perfect for working out and lifting Rob specialised in boxing and martial arts to mix up my routine. Would definitely recommend anyone considering mixing up their training to speak to Rob Camp 👍🏻

Friendliest gym! The staff are so helpful and kind. The classes there are always amazing.
The gym equipment is brilliant, there are loads of free weights, machines and cardio. It is very rare that I have to wait.
The Calisthenics area is the best

JD Southend is a great gym with loads of facilities, machines and equipment.
There is always loads of parking available and the fact the gym is 24/7 is a massive benefit.
The staff are really friendly and helpful. Clare has been a great motivator, who has given advice with workouts, is always friendly, approachable and runs awesome classes which I can’t wait to continue in to 2026!

Been going to this gym regularly for about 3 years. Clean, great equipment and space. Others using the gym are always friendly in my experience. Been addicted to Clare's calisthenics classes for over a year now 😅

JD Gym Southend. Absolutely Fantastic Gym. Fantastic & Friendly Staff, Great Gym Equipment & Facilities. Loads of Parking & Space inside the gym so you can train on your own individually. Great value for money. Only issue is the WiFi can be very temperamental. Promised by head office that it will be rectified soon. But apart from that, great gym to train at.
