If I could give a zero star review, I would!!! Do not go through this company. They are very slow at getting anything done for a claim. I had hit a deer on the side of my bumper driving home one night and it literally took them 4 freaking months to get the claim process going. Then at my re-newel month they want to charge me $300 dollars more than what I was paying, due to not being a good driver and because I was at fault for hitting the deer. This isn't the only issue I have had with them, they are terrible at filing proper paperwork. If you are a minute late on your auto payment they cancel you, with no, and's, if's or buts. They give you literally no grace period. Such a waste of time and effort. They are a rip off.

Worst insurance out there I paid for a whole month of insurance to get 14 dollars back and I will not be recommending root to anyone

I had root insurance and was in a total loss wreck in December of 2025. I was assigned Daniza Giles as my agent. For two weeks I could not get ahold of Daniza, had no rental car even though I had paid for coverage, and had no updates on what was going on with my car. When I asked for a new agent that would respond, root refused to assign me a new agent. I had to call everyday for two weeks to finally be able to speak to a supervisor that finally helped me and got me into a rental and got the loss moving on my car.

Now here we are in April, i have a new vehicle and new car insurance so I would no longer have issues with Root. As it turns out, I was pulled over after an officer ran my plates only to tell me my license was suspended in March due to Root’s negligence in submitting the certificate of coverage to Indiana’s BMV, so now it looks as if I had no coverage at all during my accident! Wouldn’t you know, Daniza Giles was responsible for submitting it and never did. Wouldnt you also know, Daniza is conveniently not in the office again for another week and no one wants to help me get the form submitted to get my license unsuspended. As well as pay $250 in fines for a suspended license that I should have never had. Two kids and a full time job that I cannot take to school or show up to work now, and root wants to play with people’s lives and wellbeing. I will have a lawyer involved if it has not been submitted to the BMV by April 15th.

Would never recommend this company to anyone, for any insurance at all. A joke of a company is all it is.

Not a car insurance company if you need help claiming through the other person's insurance I have had a few different car insurance companies this one is the worst full coverage doesn't mean anything but being expensive won't be using them much longer prefer people that speak English and I won't have to keep asking them to repeat what they say!!!

Second time attempting to write a review, root insurance is deleting bad reviews as many times they can when possible, trustpilot needs to investigate. I got hit by someone who couldnt use a turn signal properly , after two weeks of them looking into it they said it was a 50/50 fault. No compensation. Other driver hired a expensive lawyer and scared root insurance into taking a bow and throw me under the bus at 100% fault. This cheap insurance will never help you if the other person sues you. They also have a high turnover rate with agents. Warning do not buy.

Ok so my initial quote was 258 then I found I out that was only liability after I paid it and then when I tried to upgrade my policy they told me I had to pay another 358$ just to upgrade to full coverage

I just started insurance with root but I enjoy the app it’s very self explanatory and easy to use and access.

It’s a little hard for the older people to understand we’re not computer savvy

Root Insurance is one of the worst insurance experiences I’ve had. They cancelled my policy without warning and STILL charged me after taking my money. That’s beyond frustrating it feels like straight-up bad business.

Save yourself the headache and don’t use them. They can cancel your policy whenever they want and still take your money.

Very easy and quick to sign up. It’s affordable and exactly what I needed during these tough economic times. Highly recommend!
