We just returned from an incredible family safari through Kenya, Tanzania, and Zanzibar, and it was truly the trip of a lifetime. We were fortunate to see the Big Five, along with countless other amazing wildlife experiences. Our journey included Lake Nakuru, the Maasai Mara, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro Crater—each destination offered something unique and unforgettable.

One of the absolute highlights was a hot air balloon ride over the Maasai Mara, which was simply magical.

We worked with Julius for nearly a year to plan our itinerary, and his guidance was outstanding. He made adjustments, including a few lodge changes, to ensure we were in the right place at the right time—especially for witnessing the migration. Throughout the trip, Julius checked in with us daily, and his attention to detail made everything seamless. We can’t recommend him highly enough—trust Julius and the process, he truly knows what he is doing.

Our driver in Kenya, George, was also fantastic. On our very first day at Lake Nakuru, he found us rhinos, and at the Maasai Mara, he skillfully guided us to unforgettable sightings, including two cheetah hunts.

Overall, this was an amazing adventure, and we would recommend Julius and his team without hesitation. If you are considering a safari, don’t think twice—you’ll be in excellent hands.

Wir haben das FigTree camp gewählt, und als Guide LUCKY einen Masai bekommen.
Lucky war für uns einfach sensationell. Er war meist der Erste bei den Tieren, und wenn wir nach genügend Zeit es zu geniessen und zu filmen weggefahren sind sind uns die Anderen auf der Hinfahrt begegnet.
Es waren auch die besonderen Dinge die wir erleben durften.
Das Camp war wie beschrieben, und gemütlich.
Wir haben gesehen(ohne Anspruch auf Vollständigkeit) Löwen, Babylöwen, Gepard mit Jungem, Leopard, div Antilopenherden, Büffelherden , Elefantenherden, Giraffenherden, Zebras, Nilpferde, Krokodile, Adler, Sekretär, Hyänen, Schakale, BlueJeans with Yellow Socks Antilopen, Affen….

Die Safarie war für uns ein unvergessliches Erlebnis. Es war super organisiert. Wir mussten uns über nichts Gedanken machen. Der Guide konnte perfekt deutsch und hat die Tour lustig und interessant gestaltet. Die Unterkünfte waren mit der Natur und mit der Tierwelt verbunden. Das hat uns super gefallen und das Essen war hervorragend. Wir wären gerne ein paar Tage länger geblieben. Nächstes Jahr kommen wir wieder und freuen uns mit euch die nächste Safarie zu erleben.

After reading other trip advisor reviews I decided to book my safari with Julius before we even arrived in Kenya. His communication and organisation was excellent. We had an amazing safari and our driver Harrison was brilliant. We did a 3 night safari and 3 nights were at Salt lick lodge which was a wonderful place to observe the animals coming to the watering hole. Harrison was full of interesting knowledge and he was also flexible if we wanted to change our plan for the day. Harrison’s knowledge and keen eye for spotting wildlife meant that we saw so many types of animals. The last morning watching a cheetah chase down a Heart Beast was an unforgettable experience. On my birthday Harrison took us to a view point at sunset and arranged a bottle of champagne to watch the sun set. I can honestly say with everything we saw that day and the champagne at sunset that it was the best birthday I’ve ever had. Cannot thank Julius and Harrison enough and would definitely book another excursion with them in the future.

Julius attention to detail to give us the best safari for what we wanted within our budget was very professional, his knowledge of the business showed in our booking experience and the safari trip.

Just back from an amazing safari booked with Julius (JT Safaris) in Kenya. We, alongside Julius, booked a 10 day safari flying in and out of Nairobi. Harrison was our guide and driver. This was our 2nd time to Kenya, the 1st being 15 years ago, when Julius also organised our itinerary.
We started off with 2 days in Samburu, foolowed by 2 days in the Ol Pejeta Game Sanctuary, 1 day Lake Nakuru, I day Lake Naivasha anr 3 days Masai Mara. We travelled in a landcruiser – I would say an essential with the roads.
The experience we had was memorable for all the right reasons. We saw a diverse and plentiful amount of wildlife. Harrison was full of knowledge, an excellent spotter and a very special man to travel alongside. Harrison ensured we were comfortable en route and in our accommodation; taking into account our personal requirements.
Accommodation was a mixture of camps and lodges – all great with tasty food.

I found JT Safaris here on Tripadvisor. Julius arranged our safari down to the last detail. We were picked up from our hotel in the morning and taken to the Diani beach (Ukunda) airstrip. Our plane was already waiting to take us to the beautiful Massai Mara. When we got there our guide Lucky was already waiting for us. The Drive from the airstrip to the hotel was already an experience. As Lucky says "a free african massage". Our hotel The Fig tree camp is a beautiful hotel located on the Talek rivier. The tents were clean and equipped with every luxury. The hippos in the river in front of our tent was fantastic. In the afternoon we had our first game drive. Lucky is a star at finding animals. On the first day we saw two leopards, cheetahs, many zebras and so much more. Around 7p.m. we were back at the camp where we had a delicious diner. After sitting around the campfire for a while, we went to sleep early, because Lucky would pick us up around 6. We had our breakfast and lunchboxes with us and in the dark we started driving again. To see the sunrise over the savannah with the elepants in the mist is something i cannot describe you have to experience that. After a beautiful day and after seeing so many animals Lions, leopads, widerbeest, pumba etc etc etc we returned to the camp in the evenibg, tired but satisfied. After a dip in the pool and another delicios dinner, we went to bed early. At 6 a.m. Lucky was waiting for us again fot our last game drive and onze again we were not disappointed, Kenya is a beautiful country. Around half past 11 we were back at the hotel. We packed our things and had lunch.Unfortunately our safari was over. Lucky tool us back to the airstrip. We really had tree great days. Julius thank you for arranging it ans Lucky you are really the best and nicest guide.

Wir hatten Anfang Juni eine Safari von Deutschland aus über Julius JT Safari gebucht. Die Kommunikation hat super geklappt, die Anzahlung über Wise ging ebenfalls problemlos. Was ich gleich noch los werden muss ist: Julius ist auch sonst immer für einen da, egal ob es um Geldwechseln, Shopping oder sonst irgendwas geht, er ist wirklich absolut super. Nun zur Safari: wir hatten Julius geschrieben das wir einen deutschen Guide benötigen (wegen unserem Sohn 10 Jahre halt),dies war überhaupt kein Problem wir hatten unseren Ali bekommen. Die Safari war ein absoluter Traum, Ali ging wirklich auf alles ein, sprach perfekt deutsch und war zudem bereit uns auch noch viel mehr bin dem wunderschönen Land Kenia zu zeigen. Wir haben die erste Nacht im Ashnil Camp übernachtet es war wunderschön. Wir haben gleich am ersten Tag eine Menge an Tiere gesehen Löwen, Geparden, Elefanten verschiedene Vögel und Zebras. Am zweiten Tag sind wir noch eine ganze Weile im tsavo east unterwegs gewesen und sahen auch die wunderschöne Landschaft und Giraffen. Dann ging es für uns mit Ali zu der saltlick lodge, eine wirklich wunderschöne lodge. Auf den Weg dahin sahen wir erneut sehr viele Tiere auch Sträuße und Büffel gehörten diesmal dazu. Wir durften Life erleben wie es sich anfühlt einen ausgewachsene Löwen direkt neben dem Auto zu haben, wie elegant und grazile dieses Tier ist. Bei der Nachtpirsch sahen wir kaum Tiere aber dies war wohl eher dem leichten Regen geschuldet. Am Wasserloch der Saltlick lodge hatten wir dann das Glück Elefanten ganz nah beim trinken zu beobachten. Was ein unvorstellbar Gefühl war. Am letzten Tag ging es nochmal früh raus und wir sind zum lions Rock gefahren und sahen erneut 3 wunderschöne Löwen. 3 Tage 3x Löwen ein absoluter Traum. Nach unserem Frühstück ging es dann für uns langsam zurück zum Hotel. Wir machten noch ein Mittagsstopp und aßen Ziege, hier gab es auch alles andere was man sich vorstellen kann (Pommes usw.). Also alles im allem kann ich JT Safaris nur ganz ganz herzlich danken für die wunderschönen Safari und die vielen Erfahrungen in seinem Land. Liebe Grüße silly

We spent 4 days on safari and visited 3 national parks - Amboseli, Tsavo East and Tsavo West. Prior to booking the safari, we sent inquires to many companies in Kenya and Tanzania. Julius Safaris offered the best price ... and later an outstanding service! From the day we started planning our trip, Julius (the owner of the company) personally communication with us and made a few very useful suggestions about the safari lodges. Our guide Harrison picked us from Nairobi. He was very friendly, polite, punctual and patient. His comments during the game drives were extremely interesting and useful. He is very good in spotting animals! At the end of our safari, we were left at our beach hotel in Mombasa. Julius himself spoke to us to ask about our trip and brought some local African souvenirs as a gift. We would without hesitation recommend this company to anyone who is looking for a safe and unforgettable safari trip. Julius Safaris is the best!

We booked a 5 day private safari visiting Tsavo east, west, amboseli and taita hills. The trip was the highlight of our stay in Kenya. While we followed the perfect organized schedule we were able to visit the most outstanding places in the national parks, seeing the most important parts of wildlife and nature which was an once in a lifetime experience. One thing that also made our trip special was our driver with whom we had a lot of fun, pleasant conversations and who always did everything to make the best out of the trip for us! The places for overnight stay that were booked for us were of highest quality, directly in the parks with animals in the camp. In the end the trip could not have been better and we would recommend it to everyone looking for a great safari trip!

Julius is one of the most experienced persons in the industry and it was very evident from the way our safaris, transfers & accommodations were handled.

He arranged the best guide Daniel to us. Daniel was so knowledgeable and exceptional, he along with Julius made sure we got the best experience. Daniel was so eager in answering all my queries and also shared lot of information about the wildlife, Masai Mara, culture of the people, camps and other parks. Daniel became more like an elder brother during my 1 week trip. He ensured that we spent enough time with all the animals there. At every point, he was explaining the behaviours of the animals which added more colors to our experience. Sometimes I felt that Daniel was not taking us close to the animals where other jeeps were parked but within few minutes, those big animals walked close towards us which gave us a great visibility and let us spent more time closely with them while other jeeps were still away. Only very few exceptionally knowledgeable guides can do this.

When we went to the camps, folks there said that we got the best guide and a great human to accompany us.

Me and my girlfriend did a custom safari for 5 days (Tsavo West, SaltLick and Tasvo East). Julius helpt us plan the trip, he had great suggestions for us! Together we created our own safari trip instead of a pre-planned trip, this was something we really wanted because we've been on many safari's before, we were not interested in the standard safari packages (See as much as possible in a short period of time). We were more interested in a safari with beautiful routes, as much as possible inside the park, time and space to enjoy at a lodge and off-course a relaxed driver.

Julius did not only meet our requests and expectations, he completely exceeded our expectations! He gave us the best room at every lodge: At the very front with a view of the waterhole, we could watch the elephants from our bed!

We had indicated in advance that we had not seen any leopards during our holiday. Thanks to his advice and extra options, we spotted 5 leopards!

On our last night of safari in Tsavo East we were woken up around 01:00 by the sound of 16 lions hunting buffalo, we could see everything from our room!

And last but not least, he paired us with a super spontaneous driver, Harrison, and he spotted a lot of animals for us. It was always fun in the car and he drove very safely. This was by far our best safari ever!

My husband and I travelled to Kenya on an 8 Day Safari trip exploring Amboseli, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha & Masai Mara.
I enquired with many tour companies, and it wasn't hard to pick Julies just based on his prompt responses and flexibility. I loved the fact that he never tried to upsell anything that we were not interested in and recommended what would work best for our tour. I wanted to swap a few camps, and he happily adjusted the plan. The cherry on the cake was Sammy, our appointed driver and guide. He was friendly, informative on the parks, animals, culture and was just a delight to journey with( which is so importantas as you spend most of your day with the guide). Most of all, he looked like he actually loved his job. I really believe that we couldn't have had such an emulsive experience without JT & Sammy.

Highlight: Masai Marar

Great safari and beach stay organised by Julius. He organised transfers, hotels, safari flights and internal flights. Everything went like clockwork. We saw lions, elephants, antelope, buffalo, nearly saw a leopard, a cheetah, hippo, crocodile and so many more.

Hello we have done the 3rd safari with Julius Tac and have always been super satisfied. Our last safari was in December 2022, 8 days (Masai Mara, Nskuru and Samburu) The wildlife was absolutely fantastic, the accommodation was top class and our driver/guide George was the best you can have. He was very knowledgeable and always helpful. We will certainly do safari again with Julius and can give the best recommendations for him.

We booked an eight-day safari with Julius in advance of arriving in Kenya. Julius was very quick to respond to our questions and put together an excellent safari for us at short notice. We have only good things to say about Julius. He was happy to accommodate all our requests and continual changes to the itinerary, even after we had arrived in Kenya. Julius was happy to work with our budget, recommended good accommodation options and he provided a reliable, spacious and
comfortable safari van which allowed for good wildlife-viewing.

Harrison, our driver for the trip was an excellent guide. He was flexible, punctual, funny and he
worked really hard to show us as much of his wonderful country as possible. Nothing was ever too much. He was happy to get up at sunrise to find a leopard and go out late at night looking for the eyeshine of bushbabies and did it all with a smile on his face.

We visited Meru and Samburu, both incredible parks in their own right, but we are particularly grateful to Julius and Harrison for getting us to the Tana River area. None of the other tour operators were willing to drive us out there, but with the help of contacts in the area, Julius managed to organise two very memorable nights of wild camping on the riverbank where we were able to see the highly localised and endangered Tana River Mangabey and Red Colobus monkeys. It was a
magical spot.

The absolute highlight of our holiday was the day trip we made from camp over to the other side of the Tana River to see the critically endangered Hirola in the Ishaqbini Conservancy. Security in this area is variable but thanks to Harrison and Julius’ sheer perseverance (and the eventual blessing of the police chief in Masalani) we made it to the conservancy. This kind of adventure holiday is not to everybody’s taste, but laying eyes on the enigmatic Hirola after such an epic journey was
unforgettable and a massive credit to Julius for making it possible.

I would strongly recommend anyone considering a safari in Kenya to use Julius as their tour operator and once that is in place, remember to ask for Harrison as your guide!

We had a fantastic eight night Safari on the Maasai Mara with JT Safaris. Everything about our visit was fantastic. We have visited Kenya many times and this was by far the best visit. The photography was amazing, our driver guide, Lucky, was amazing, and Julius made sure we had a totally unforgettable time. A wonderful wonderful wonderful safari in every way!!!
