Disappointing purchase and experience.
I am deeply disappointed with Kaiva London’s handling of my recent purchase (#13245). I placed the order on August 31st 2025, and within just one week of wear, the stone on the ring fell out, signalling clear indication of a manufacturing or setting defect.
I requested a refund on September 9th 2025. A team member replied saying stones are set securely and go through 4 stages of checks before being sent out and suggested that as this ring has a shared prong setting, I had knocked the ring on the palm side causing the stone to come loose and to try again with a half eternity style next time.
I find this very offensive to suggest I had knocked the ring. Typically when you buy a new piece of jewellery, you are aware of it and are even more careful to avoid damaging it. Especially in the first week of use.
They then went on to write that a refund will not be given, and I could instead have a store credit. No offer of a replacement ring either. I have since sent 2 follow-up emails requesting for a refund, which remain unanswered. It's now October, yet the issue remains unresolved and I have a ring with a hole in it after purchasing with good intentions.
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, I am fully entitled to a refund or replacement ring because the fault manifested so quickly, within 1 week of use. The law protects consumers, stating that goods must be of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose, with faults within six months presumed to have existed at the time of sale unless proven otherwise. The defect occurring within just one week of use clearly falls within this protection.
Kaiva’s refusal to accept responsibility, relying solely on CCTV footage that the ring left their workshop intact, does not negate the possibility of a latent manufacturing defect. Their dismissive, blameful approach and refusal to give me my money back or repair/replace the ring is unacceptable.
The original ring was purchased in a sale and If I wanted to buy a replacement piece with the store credit, I would have to pay the difference in price out of pocket. I think this so-called jeweller knows this and continues to offer credit instead of sending out a replacement in lieu of a refund.
I urge Kaiva London to honor its legal obligations and provide a full refund or replacement promptly. The continued lack of response after multiple attempts to engage is both disappointing and unprofessional.
Be careful with this so-called jeweller, they aren't supportive nor selling professionally and abiding by consumer laws.
